Let's just take a moment to appreciate the power behind Maruki's voice acting.
"When it grows to be too much, too painful... every person deserves to be able to escape that!"
The hurt in his voice as he says it, the genuine nature of his care, his empathy, his kindness. His feelings of having failed everyone and everyTHING he cares for... his genuine belief that his reality would have been the best solution to everything. You feel every ounce of his dedication at the end of all this.
Truly a magnificent counterpart to Joker as a protagonist.
From Josuke, Naofumi, to Ferdinand Von Aegir.
And it makes it all the more painful that we have to put an end to his dreams.
Its a good take on someone who isnt truly a villain, but things have led him to go down a path, that even you question of what you decide

Nyarlathotep is my favorite. The only persona final boss that actually won and defeated the power of friendship.

Technically Maruki defeated the power of friendship too, albeit for only a week or so.
I personally think of Nyarlethotep as one of the greatest villains in the series, after all he's the only one that actually destroyed the world
He’s amazing because he’s not a goofy villain. He wanted something and made a foolproof plan to obtain it and satisfy his desire for destruction and sadism.
All he needed to do in IS was to fulfill the prophecy and keep the powerful persona users in check. And he manages to do so with Jun while manipulating terrorists to make a big mess.
In EP he was defeated only because he had less power, less resources and less preparation in the new world created at the end of IS. He lost because his opponent were resilient and hunted him down to death no matter what (it was their merit not his fault for being an idiot) not because he made a goofy mistake like every single final antagonist in most Jrpg does.
Nyarlatheotep is an eldritch god who usually disguises as a human and likes to break and manipulate people and laugh about it
I'm really hoping he and Philemon make an appearance once more, they are literally the ultimate forms of good and evil in the persona franchise

@@vexen3669 It did. The characters use a bunch of healing spells and items trying to save Galuf, but it doesn't work. KO spells don't actually kill the characters obviously, that's just a term
I don’t get it. In P2 you just can control your other character to revive your MC or finish the battle without him.

@@donaldpowell44 Yaldaboth is the Demiurge which in Biblical Gnosticism is the god that created the material world. Basically the god of the Old Testament according to those who believe in Gnosticism.

It's really astonishing that Persona 2 Eternal Punishment has the only all Adult casts. Tbh, I actually want another persona game that has an all-adult cast instead of teenagers

Zenkichi did a wonderful follow up to EP. His character arc could have been from P2 eternal punishment with just a bit more light hearted tone because strikers is one of the less dark game in the Persona franchise while eternal punishment is probably the darkest.

Jason Adjiwanou *SPOILERS* This is very detailed so if you are planning to play Persona 5 Royal, I suggest don’t read this anymore*
At first, Maruki started researching about the cognitive world because of his Professor, but the Professor asked him to stop researching about it already because of lack of evidence (But the truth is Shido found out about it and idunno if he threatened the Professor to stop researching about the cognitive world because Shido wants the cognitive world for himself to control everyone, he even killed Futaba’s mother for researching it.) Rumi, his girlfriend, her parents died because of a robbery(?) in their house, then Rumi was traumatized about the events and she was hospitalized. Maruki then came to see her and told her about the research of cognitive psience (This was before his research was stopped by his Professor.) Then, he actually got a chance to speak to his Persona on the real world and altered Rumi’s reality, and Rumi forgot about her but she is already well and living with her grandparents instead of her parents recently dying. (Altering Reality through cognition is what his powers is. He is unique like Joker and Akechi, where Joker can hold multiple persona while Akechi can trigger Psychotic Breakdowns) Maruki then wanted a world where nobody suffers and everyone could be happy. That is why he keeps on consulting Joker and his friends because at the end of Kamoshida’s Palace, he actually saw them appearing out of thin air. He also consults other people to know what they want to be happy and to not suffer. When the day The Phantom Thieves battle Yaldabaoth. Maruki awakened to His Persona because the Metaverse was merged with the real world. He then at the start of the New Year, did some changes to the world and was able to bring back the MetaNav. He made Morgana Human, Wakaba Isshiki is alive as well as Kunikazu Okumura and Makoto’s Dad, Shiho was not away from Ann anymore,Ryuji was back on the trackteam and Yusuke was with Madarame, and they did not notice any of it. The only ones who realized it was Joker, Akechi, (Cognitive because Akechi in the real world died and they only got a chance to know that this Akechi is not real but was revived too like Wakaba and Okumura, at the near end of the game) and Sumire (Kasumi, her reality was altered by Maruki too and she thinks she was Kasumi, her deceased sister) then the Phantom Thieves eventually knew that everything they are experiencing is unnatural then they went to fight Maruki on his Palace.

Even if some are cut a bit, I still enjoy this more than some other Final Boss compilations... as some tend to just show the last minute or so of the fight and not show the build up, any phase changes, or when the boss just throws a wrench in your plans of victory.
You sparked my curiosity for P1 and P2. Both seemed interesting. Arghhh now I want to play it.
If you can deal with P1’s really rough battle system and navigating through all the random encounters then yeah check it out. Same goes for the P2 duology.
@@TERPormf When i play p1 I only use Phaleg, Illuyanka, Gozu-Tennou, Aizen Myouou, Tyr and Amen Ra until the end of the game. I'm too lazy too summon new Personas. But that sure gave me a severe disadvantage at the end because I can only rely on gun when i face enemies who null magic. I've got raped almost 10 times in the final dungeon and maybe more if I don't have Hidehiko in my party. Sorry for my bad English:))
Persona 1 and 2 are really interesting for sure as their plots overlap, not to mention they serve as a nice bridge into mainline SMT (kinda).

Yeah the queen's fight was mostly her with a guard. That's the whole challenge, and it made the boss fight go on for a bit too long. (Also the repeated "get hit sounds" stacked on one another sounded rlly bad)
Izanami is shit compared to Yaoldabaoth. Which isn’t a high tier villain either but at least it’s threatening and has true power over the events while Izanami just spawns takes an L and Team rocket ending.
I agree on Ice queen being the worst. It’s just a stupid generic premise to have a ghost sadistic that posses an object that wants to destroy the world because why not. And it has no explanation it’s just there because the extra story needed a final boss.

Off topic but there’s something about the P4 bad endings that make me feel weird I don’t like them but the way the bad endings are and I wish they remastered or remade P1, 2, 3 and 4
P4 has already been remade....
P4 didn’t get a remake, the three Persona games that did get remakes were 1, Innocent Sin, and Eternal Punishment.

@@mizzix p3fes, p3p and p4g are not even a remaster, just have a bunch of new contents (p3p is trimmed but have better combat and Female protagonist)
@@gaspastrike Those were remasters and they weren't really different at all. If you consider those remakes then P3P, Golden and Royal should be considered remakes too even if they have expanded stories
