Bro you are a hero. I'm tying a kill switch to my fuel pump line and couldn't find the relay for the life of me. You even told me what wire it is. Thank you.
Thank you for this. I been having signs of a bad start and i had a feeling it was something to do with that relay. It finally didnt start over the weekend. So now i need to trouble shoot pretty much all of this. Thank you for your documentation on the matter. 🤞
@@petescarport i appreciate that man, especially after hearing you say it took a while to be delivered. I will let you know how i make out. Thank you 🦾
@@petescarport i dont think its an electric thing. I just got up from looking underneath, and there is an oily mess all over the bottom of the distributor. Does oil go through that piece? Maybe a bad seal? That is my guess
@@SharkAttackSkinder yes I believe that this distributer has ring gaskets on the end. I would pull the distributor and I bet you can get gaskets easily for it.
I actually have one if your needing to buy. I would give you a deal. I never installed it since mine was good. I can also check for part number. Shoot me a message on instagram
So I have a similar problem but I am getting fuel and I am getting sparked but it still will not start not getting Ignition I had a few buddies look at it and a couple times we've got it to start and run but then when I go to start it again later on it won't start again any ideas?
My issue is "After operating temperature is reached" the engine shuts off But starts running rough missing backfiring before it shuts itself off as starving for fuel! No broken frayed wires! No Audible click from Fuel Relay Switch when the Ignition is turned to start! Is the switch turning off my fuel pump after operating temp is reached? Runs idles perfectly prior to reaching normal operation temp! any advice greatfully accepted! Thanks
@@tflem4806 Yes I did find the solution from a guy that had the same problem of reaching operating temp then running rough then engine just quiting and shutting off! It was in the Honda acty truck forum from a guy from Hawaii ! Same Problem! Change your DIST. CAP & ROTOR with "NEW ONES" from Japan! Problem solved, apparently when the old ones get hot 🔥 engine temp it runs rough and buck then like mine would just shut off till cold again! "NEW CAP & ROTOR" solved the problem! Also I opened up the plastic mixture control on the carb. It was set way too lean! ( turn CCW to open) adjust idle opposite side Carb. Hope that fixes the problem it did mine! Let me know when you do! 👍
Upon re watching this video this guy is wrong about the wiring to the fuel cut relay. The way it works is 3 wires to the relay. One is a constant 12v to the relay with key on. One is the wire to the fuel pump to give it power. One is from the distributor to close the circuit between the 12v constant prong to the fuel pump power wire.
Check what brand it is. Ironically I swapped my to a cheaper one off eBay (no name) and it’s very loud. Sounds like a valve tap. So answer is yes it will make a tick sound but When I had the oem one in I couldn’t hear it like the cheaper one. The tick sound is just the pump working.
Mine ticks like crazy especially on cold days. I was wondering if something was wrong with it .. good to know what it is now and i will for sure keep an eye on it! Thanks guys!
The new one I put in ticks as well. Glad to hear other people have the same experience. Was getting worried that something isn't right. Truck seems to run fine with the new pump in otherwise.
@@petescarport Mines oem and does it, it only has 17,000mi on it. The signal to command the pump is an on/off cycle of roughly 1-2sec. I heard it the first time I drove it but I’ve had mine for about a year now with no issue and I drive it quite a bit. But it’s pretty subjective, your or my hearing might be more or less attuned for the sound the pump makes
Can’t believe how patient you were in all the issues. I usually start cussing a lot!

I have a relay that works that I bought. If you can’t find one I would sell you mine cheap and test before sending

You have the part number and or link to the fuel pump cutoff relay?

You still have the relay brother? I need one
Do you happen to know how many fuel lines run to the carb?
Thank you!
Thanks for the info !

Could be the ignition control module. Very common for these to go bad and cause issues like you are saying. They are pretty cheap and easy to swap.
@petescarport yes easy 100% cheap they are like 100 bucks plus now

I'm having a no spark issue already replaced the ignition coil only time it spark when you first crank the motor over but after that no spark
I would have to say check ground and make sure no wires are melted or cut
@@petescarport how many grounds are on this mini truck. im trying to get it running for my sister in law

Honda Acty fuel pump ticks but it starts and runs fine. Is it normal for fuel pump to tick?

Ticking is the fuel pump. They all do it
So I made a video on it. Only the cheap aftermarket ones tick. I swapped back to the stock one and barely hear it humm
