If you have a Line 6 Helix and wanted amp feedback, you'd have needed to get a Digitech Freqout. Not anymore! The Feedbacker in firmware 3.70 does just that and then some. In this video, I share how I set this up for use in a worship setting, including control settings, performance notes, and a bonus feature that opens up a whole new way of expression on the Helix!
0:39 Introduction - What is amp feedback?
1:37 Settings
2:49 Footswitch setting
4:23 Performance notes
6:00 Bonus use case - faux ebow!
7:24 Tone demo and general tips

That Ebow-ish trick was great! Thanks for sharing. I am excited to try this effect for sure.
You’re welcome! I’m glad the video is inspiring you to try it out!
Great video! Can’t wait to start using Helix Native and the feedbacker in particular on my recordings.
Thank you! It might be hard to trigger the effect manually unless you have a controller and record the automation.
I'm going to have to try this. I can see it being usable in my helix floor, but maybe not so much in my stomp which I use as amps at the end of a pedalboard.
That’s going to be the next challenge I’ll try to tackle, getting usable dual amps/cabs with the feedbacker!
This is one of the coolest effects in the entire Helix ecosystem. Just wish it didn't take up so much DSP. I sadly wasn't able to work it into my go-to dual amp patch for the HX Stomp
Oh sorry to hear that. What’s in your signal chain on the Stomp besides the dual amps?
@@AllAboutWorshipGuitar my signal chain is LA studio Comp>Teemah>split left and right into Essex 30+Alnico Blue XR IR and Matchstick ch1+Greenback XR IR>FX loop with dd200 & big sky>Stereo Trinity Chorus.
In order to free up enough DSP for the feedbacker i have to remove the comp, overdrive, and the chorus. I'll probably make a patch that is more focused on rock and less on clean ambience so i can get away with using a single amp and cab
Yeah it’s really dsp hungry on the stomp. I had a similar experience.
Great video! Quick question! Where can I put the feedbacker on my chain?
Thanks! It should be as far front of the signal chain as possible. I’d put it first.
I’ve found I can get the type of feedback this effect is going for if I’m turned up enough in the house, especially if I am using a semi hollow guitar like a 335. I just hit the signal with all the gain I can and even click in the wah and hold it. Sadly my main patch is already DSP’d out to use this very much.
You must be playing in a loud church! That’s great! Yes I had to make a lot of compromises with the effects side, like getting rid of all modulation and an extra delay. It’s a DSP guzzler!
Boss had one feedbacker distortion
I’m trying it out on the Boss MS-3 but the effect is not as natural sounding as the Helix. But then again maybe the standalone effect is better than its emulation on the MS-3.
any chance of pod go getting this?
It was like a year before we got the plumes and sunn stuff. Cross your fingers it doesn't take that long.
Yeah I jope we can get it too!
The DSP usage is quite high but not as bad as the Poly stuff, so there may be a chance. We’d probably have limited amp choices.
