13 years later and this still works. Thank you so much.
Man, I've been struggling to find this solution for hours now. It's 6 AM here, haven't slept yet because I had to find it no matter what, I'm organising an electro event tomorrow and in the club where it occurs there's old TVs attached to the roof all connected to the same DVD player, perfect to put an ambiance if you know how to make some visuals on a video editor :))
DVDs were slowly disappearing when I got in the age of getting into computers so this was such a delight to come across an eleven years old video that shares free softwares to burn DVDs. Every modern tutorials I came across directed to paying apps or shady stuff.
Thank you PC-Addict, you're the real deal. Keeping that old internet vibe where everyone was benevolent and caring with each other, before fakes and social media and shitty youtube conten, and clickbait and all the stuff I got to be born in that makes the internet stray from it's main purpose, sharing knowledge.
I wish you a very nice year, and I hope everything's is going along for you in this mess we call life. With love
A young guy that never writes comments
Thank you!
Incredible, I come back here everytime I burn a DVD to make sure I do it all right.
Same lol!!
13 years later and this is literally a life saver, thanks so much!
You absolute Madlad. For already 2 weeks now I've been trying to find a way to put Videos on to a DVD-R and have it actually play on a Player and UNTIL NOW that wasn't going to happen. I thank you, so so so Much. You saved me a huge ton. Thank you for this Video!
@MasterLink221 I am completely NEW to all of this and have no clue how to do any of this stuff, but would like to do what is in this video. Can you tell me...."when I go to the store to get the BLANK videos that I want to copy videos on, WHICK ONES AM I SUPPOSED TO BUY? I see things like "DVD R, and DVD other stuff, but I have no clue which one's to buy to even get started with this. Please help.😫😫
@@girlygirl1890I was able to buy mine off of Amazon, It was a Maxell brand. Specifically, Maxell Platinum DVD+R 5 Pack. When you get the DVD it's already empty and you can add anything to it, but there's a Specific format that DVD's have in order to play on a DVD player. If you want, you can put any file type on the DVD and burn it using a Computer with a disk drive. But if you want something that can be played on a DVD player follow this Video's steps. Rewatch it, Pay attention, and it'll be understandable to complete.
@@girlygirl1890im pretty sure dvd- r is better quality but you might want to search it up :)
@@girlygirl1890 I just created a DVD (using this video)that can be watched on a regular DVD player attached to my TV.
I had a few blanks laying around... the one that I had was labeled "SONY DVD-R 120min/4.7GB"... the "DVD-R" is basically a one-time use... for a rewriteable that can be used more than once, is labled "DVD-RW"... not sure all DVD players can play rewriteable DVDs, but you can always try.
@@airmojo Thank you thank you for leaving your comment. I really appreciate the info! This is great and sooo helpful!
Hands down the single most helpful video I’ve seen, and to think it’s a decade old. Well done! Thank you!
Thank ya! I am happy it's still helping people!
🎉Hallelujah! 🎊 💥Thank you! After wasting several blank DVDs, I was finally able to accomplish this project. This is the only thing that worked. I already had imgburn installed and after installing Dvd flick they worked perfectly together and I was able to finally burn my DVDs and get playback after following your video. I was able to select the “ burn to disc” option and the imgburn software automatically kicked in after DVD Flick finished encoding the video image. I used Wonderfox dvd ripper first to rip and compress the dvd to an avi format image. I discovered that after you select your title, and your Image is on your desktop, you can drag and drop it in the title window. You made my day. 😊
Awesome glad I was able to help!
This was the first one that actually made the DVDs successfully burn and play on my JVC VHS and DVD player, so now I can burn my video game playthrough stuff onto VHS for no reason besides the comedy of it whenever I want now
15 years ago it was beyond simple to rip and burn any movie to DVD. Now in 2024 its next to impossible, you get wrong formats every time.
Facts 🤦🏽♂️
Oh gosh, yeah, I wouldn't want to try these days!
This classic is still helping me today remember seeing this over 10 Year's ago
That's awesome!
@@PC-Addictscan I use a 8.5g dvd disk with dvd flick? I’m not seeing the option in the drop down menu, closest thing is dvd DL 7.9gb
Took your instructions and now I have a full collection of movies. Works great thanks man! Works like a charm. Thanks Again!
Hello there, i have movies in mkv format (h.264 video, AC3 audio).
I want to either burn it to dvd or copy to usb to play in my f&d 2100, which has 5.1 ch output.
Which would be the best format for video and audio and container format to make it work?
I want surround audio.
Which would be the best software?
Bro, you need to convert that file into MP4 or AVI. and change the audio to ACC. Then you should burn it using the software tge guys showed in the video.
I would use this cloudconvert.com/
I know how you can put the usb into your TV to play the movie but almost all TVs cant support mkv. files thats why you got to convert them
This video solved my struggles with burning dvds, thank you!
Awesome glad I was able to help!
Thank You! I appreciate those who share their knowledge for others. We should all be thankful for your kindness. Many take kindness for granted.
2024 anyone?
yup
Hello
Hi
S
Believe it or not, there are still reasons people need DVDs.
Thank you for the comments... glad I was able to help you out!
That was very cool the way you casually threw that video onto that dvd. Pretty good special affect.
Just to make it stand out.
Yar Har! This video was highly informative and his assisted me in my exploits on the seven seas! Thank ye kindly, stranger!
Your welcome.
Curious: Are people still trying to burn video files to DVD these days?
sure ^^
I'm trying to burn old 1930s movies onto DVDs rn. First few attempts didn't work, so now I'm trying your way of doing it 😅
The file is in MP4 though, which might be part of the issue. So if it still isn't working, I'm downloading the AVI file to see if that's any better
@@gracefuldisaster5161 Let us know how it works out for you please!
yes
Yes
Thank you, this was really helpful I spent forever trying to figure this out last night and a lot of the other tutorials I watched were really confusing but this was to the point and easy to understand. ( :
2025 anyone??
Your my second saviour! I finally made my first 720p movie for my cousins first comunion. Thank you very much , may god reward you in the future!
Great video, PC-Addicts! Made sense and was easy to understand. To the naysayers: Sorry, but if you don't understand this process, you probably aren't computer savvy enough to handle something like this anyways. Call your grandson.
+regression Thanks! Glad it worked for ya!
umm....are you high? I am not associated with PC-Addicts. I'm just a dude that seriously found this video helpful. Kinda lame to assume that someone would take the time to make another account just to do that. either way, my account has uploads from ten years ago, which is two years before PC-Addicts uploaded anything.
Hi great video... Can you tell me what kind of writable DVDs you used? were they -R or + R... I understand that -R's are more common and more suitable for most homes DVD players...thanks for your input
THANK YOU SO F**KING MUCH MAN!!!! IT REALLY WORK! I WAITED 1 WEEK TO BURN THE VIDEO. YOUR VIDEOS REALLY HELP!
lol np
PC-Addicts don't speeding up the process to above normal mess with the quality or audio delay?... i click on burn to cd idk what iso image is. can you compare. and last question. how can i make copies of the dvd i burn? instead of burning 1 by 1 which takes from 4hrs to 18hrs each movie idk why
This very much helped and i will watch this video again in the future 10/10
Actually, a better option is Windows DVD Maker which comes on Vista & Windows 7 (not sure about other OS's, but guessing it probably does).
It's very simple and works fine, so I don't know why you would mess around downloading other stuff.
it no longer exist on windows 10.
You are a genius!! I totally followed your instruction step by step and guess what? I am actually successful & already played DVD without any trouble on my hi-def TV :) Thankyou Chris!
Worked perfectly. Thanks. Good tutorial. I love it. Fast and straight to the point.
@88KRUZE No, it doesn't have to be AVI (thats just the file I had as an example). If it were me, I would just try whatever format you have.
Thank you! Instructions were clear and it worked!
+Celena Chang You are welcome! :)
Do you really need to do the iso image part
xGamer Saiyanx yes that is what you will burn to the disc very important
thanks a lot mate, this shit still works in 2024 too
Dude You are THE MAN! Thanks for making this video, it helped a lot.
You are welcome - thanks for sharing!
I forgot to say in my last comment....I recorded these as MP4 videos and it has worked for me for over a hundred other videos.
Alright, so uhh my dvd player plays like half of the videos on the dvd, the rest just freeze the player and then stops the dvd. What is the problem?
Still trying to get this done? Sorry for the delay.
@@PC-Addicts Hi. I figured out the problem. It was simply me putting too much media on the dvd (over 4 hours worth), to the point where it couldn't play most of it.
@@peetersdrummingmusic6781 Awesome I'm glad you figured it out. Thank you for sharing the problem/fix here.
@Nivek5795 No, you can use something else to burn the image, but make sure you are burning it as an image, not just a file.
burning takes so much time, my first attempt didn't work with dvd flick. after all of the processes done an error message popped out with that Imgburn something.
now I'm trying to repeat everything from the start. -.-
what ever you do. don't delete this video. it was super informative and helpful to me that you soooo much
I literally got a DVD creator ad before this video lol
Thanks a million dude! The key to the puzzle I couldn't figure out was to create an ISO file from my original files THEN use ImageBurn. I kept making DVDs using ImageBurn and couldn't figure out why it didn't work. Create the ISO file FIRST then use ImageBurn, got it!!
THanks this worked for me followed exactly and it works excellet now my next goal is to figure out a way around the Cinavia Protection for PS3, using this method. and putting Chapters (Sections) that are easy to use. Skip forward and scene and back Ect. but THanks dude this helped!
Awesome - glad you got it working!

Dear Cris do you have a video explaining how to make a fancy dvd menu in one of these programs, I love making menus!
how do you know if you have a DVD burner?
+agis lax he meant a physical dvd burner, internal or external
+agis lax It will tell you in your My Computer when you look at your drive icons. EX: DVD-RW
Thanks for making this tutorial,I couldn't have done this without your help! Now I have a copy of my Viemo video, that I can watch with my DVR. I did have to watch it a couple of times, because I'm a slow learner and I forget twice as fast,Lol.
Just to make it stand out
for everyone who is wondering, it works
what if i want to put it n a flash drive,in dvd format
your the best teacher so far in youtube :) keep up the goodwork man
After playing your video five times, I gave up. You speak like a bullet train. You know what you are doing but we don't. Next time, speak S - L - O - W - E - R please.
helend222
I am not even a native English speaker and yet I can follow the instructions. What you have to do is stop the video after each phrase that is mentioned ... and if necessary rewind it. This has to be repeated as many times as necessary.
U must be slow

After testing out every software for dvd burning which ended really bad, your video helped me out !!!
Dude i own you something...( subscribed & liked )
can this work with MP4 files as well?
i just burned my first one and went to play it in the dvd player and the effects didn't come out right and the people's speaking was distorted/late. how do i fix that?
@icydragon542 Look within those docs for an ISO - as long as you selected the option during the project setup to create an ISO, it should be there. Look at the file sizes within the folder of all the files, you are probably looking for a large file size.
WHY DOES IT KEEP FUCKING SAYING THAT I CAN'T PLACE IT INTO A FOLDER WITH SOME STUPID FUCKING CHARACTERS LITERALLY EVERY FOLDER I FUCKING MAKE IT DOESN'T LET ME PUT IT IN THERE
The file format has to be avi
Bra calm down
Suppose you only want 3 minutes of a DVD ? Thanks
Does this work with windows 10?
Yes
Should, but haven't tried.
Couldn't be easier than that, good app , it worked and i play the dvds in my car now , Thanks
the problem is, it need about three fucking hours to burn one movie !!! one movie !, any solutions ?
+Didi Adam my problem is same tell us guys how we can burn 1 movie from 4 hours on 2 dvd's
+Didi Adam same here !! mybe we should try ulead videos
This was fantastic! Any idea how to upmix 5.1 audio from stereo?
You talk way to fast and I feel you don’t really give time for the person to see what u are trying to show and also will I be able to watch a video on my home dvd connected to my tv
Yep, this is super old, and it's a recorded video, so you can pause, or select the slow down option
This really helped me, I was stuck for two hours and then found this video, though it did take time, but I still got there. Thankyou Very much :)
DUDE YOU TALK TO FAST AND BESIDE THAT IT SEEMS LIKE YOU ARE EXPLAINING THIS TO A VERY EXPERIENCE COMPUTER PEOPLE, NOT HELP AT ALL THANKS.
+IvetteMimieux it was all simple english...ummmm k
+IvetteMimieux Yeah... I can understand and I'm a kid.
+IvetteMimieux I agree he talks too fast and for beginners it should explain the first steps slowly. But hey if you watch it 10 times you should figure it out. lol
WAtched it on 2x - no problem. Try slowing it down...
IvetteMimieux dude just install dvd flick ..and img burn leave shit default .. click create iso img then when flick is
done point img burn to iso file and burn ....
Thank you soooooooooooooo, much. I have been trying to figure out how to burn DVD files that Mom(90) could play on her DVD player.
Thanks alot Chris, this video helped me get the job done. it takes a couple of hours but sometimes you wait for what you want. Thanks again
You should be able to burn the disc using imgburn. What part are you actually stuck on?
Thanks Pal. This video is very helpful.
Does this work for MP4 files as well or does it need to be AVI specifically?
well put together over all, but you can save a step if you can tick that box that writes it to your dvd burner. but still much better than other videos ive seen on this topic
@88KRUZE Your welcome! Glad it was able to help you out!
You have a separate dedicated media computer? Cool! ;-) Thx for vid, will try it, I want to show my mother in law (who's still in the stone ages, technically) some videos from YT that I think she will enjoy.
thanks bro you saved my life. all I need to know now is how to create chapters cuz my videos are playing straight through so I have to fast forward or rewind like old fashioned tape deck.
hi, great video. I think it can help me but I was wondering can you burn only avi files and on my dvd flick both create an iso and burn to disc I am able to check both which one should I check. thanks a lot!
@firewater476 Might be you need to run the app as an administrator? (Right click the icon, and select "Run as administrator"
Hi Addict Just watched your Vito for making a Disc of movies and you are good but are to fast for a slow learner like myself . Were would I go to learn this from step 1 to the finish I'm slow on the up take but once I get it I got it Again were would I go to learn the process from start to finish. You are doing a great job keep it up and Thank-You
Meanwhile, 10 years later, I wish I could still get these versions of the two free softwares you used. The current ones won't seem to work, without buying a premium version.
I have one in my HP Media Center PC right now - but it's fairly old... I wouldn't say I am an expert or anything but might be able to help... what is the question?
It is greyed out because RDP. Very odd, I found even Windows 10 does it in Imgburn and other programs when in RDP session
When i click the link in the description for imgburn, multiple versions are available. Which one do I choose? I was thinking the one that says "provided by imgburn" but I'm not sure.
Awesome... You are welcome, and glad I was able to help you out.
Helped a lot... but does it have to be AVI?
*ERROR ANSWER* I was stuck on this for a very long time so this may help someone out there. You HAVE TO USE CD-Rs, I was stuck on using DVD-WR and DVD-R but those didn’t work. DVD players will not work with those and with these apps CD-R disks will work perfectly. Otherwise this works awesomely and is really good to use.
Thank you! Finally one that works! The burn the project to disc part wasnt grayed for me so thats the only option i had to click on and it automatically had imgburn with it so you dont have to download 2 files
It tooks almost 12 hrs for my core 2 duo processor, but it works anyway, thanks!!!
question...does the blank dvd have to be in the drive at all times?? When encoding in DVD flick and then when obviously wrting image to disc on ImgBurn?
Is this video tutorial still good? Are the apps he is using still available?
Apparently yeah, people are still hitting me up about it. I can't say for sure, but assuming so. Links might not be good anymore but I'm sure you can find what you need.
Is imgburn still a good program to use. (This instruction is 4 years old). When I downloaded DVD flick it did not ask me if I wanted to install imgburn. I went to the imgburn website directly and there were download options there but it wanted me to download all other sorts of programs, PC clean and that type of stuff. I did everything on DVD flick and am ready to go, just no where to go with it. Thanks
@holyfrakwit Maybe try re-installing the application, and making sure that imgburn option is selected.
Does this still work in 2024 will I get a virus if I download DVD Flick?
Fug no. Just do it. Your PC's antivirus might say there is risk. But it's just because of these old files are no verified. They're still safe tho. Also this is the must successful video I've seen over there.
You are obviously very knowledgeable of what you are doing. I wish you were slower and more deliberate in explanations to a novice, a beginner who has never attempted burning a dvd.
It takes forever with dvd flick do I need those programs to have it work on my DVD player or can I just burn it using my computer
I have videos from a smart phone that I wanted to burn to a DVD but they keep burning to the DVD upside down. How do I fix that?
Good question, perhaps you need to throw the videos into an editor (Premiere Pro or something similar), rotate the video, then save prior to burning.
@dawood123ist Probably depends on how long the video is, file size, and power of your computer. This stuff does take a long time - even on my systems here.
What kind of DVD you used? I have DVD-R and its compatible and play in any DVD Player? Thanks..
worked great for me. thx , just a quick question. will this work for blueray to play on dvd? Im tryin it right now and ill let u know if it works
I've a question: what do I do with a video file that has two audio tracks (for example English and French? Is there something different I have to worry about?
Yeah! It proves to work on me... I love u for your generosity to share this skills ... and this is what I'm looking for.. Thanks much & more power!
