That always seems to be the case for me. Avoiding something consistently makes it so stressful that when you finally do it you wonder what you were so worried about 🙃 but yet.
I'm about 10 scenes away from finishing the third draft of book one of my trilogy! I already started brainstorming book two. I know exactly what you mean about momentum. I'm feeling that right now for sure. Maybe it's because of spring or some planet somewhere is in retrograde LOL but I'm happy to see so many creatives getting into the swing of things. Good luck to you Katie! Can't wait for book three.
I need to stop being a baby too! Thanks for the reminder that once you sit down and get back into writing/editing, it might not be that bad. Something good that happened to me today is that I worked with a new student and we got along well. I was nervous at first, but I'm grateful it went well.

Edits are always so daunting, but once I get into them, I start to really love them. With my current manuscript, I actually had the best time doing the edits from draft three to four. It's now off for formatting and will be published in the fall!

I didn't realize you moved to Portland! I live here too. Yeah girl the rain is close to year round. My family always jokes how after 4th of July it'll be nice. It seems to rain on the 4th a lot! But after that it tends to be nice haha

Do Maxine and Dean steal puzzle pieces? It’s an ongoing battle in my house and my cat. She loves relocating pieces! I even have a puzzle mat to cover it but she still manages to fish a piece out! I’m so impressed you can keep yours out in the open!

I am working with an editor to help me edit my book, so I hope I can improve it and publish it by the end of the year 😅 a bit scary to work on edits as my inner critic awakens and says how no good my writing is 😂 so far we only went through two chapters so it's just the beginning but I hope I can get more edits back soon ☺️

Hi Katie! I am super happy for your breakthrough! I am at the same place where you were. In the last 2 months I have been working on the same 2 chapters and I felt tooootally blocked. But now that I actually checked the page count, these "chapters" were 40 pages altogether, so my progress has not been so slow after all.
Woohoo for finally getting through your block! But honestly - you've had A LOT happening. So excited to read book 3 in November :)
I'm two scenes away from finishing my draft for book 1 in a novelette series I've been working on :D it was originally going to be one full novel with four parts but they're all so drastically different, decided to just make them into four different books.
I might be an odd ball but I love like the 3rd round of edits. haha. The rough drafts are always the hardest, the second the most time consuming.
I definitely prefer the later rounds of edits!
I am currently working on my fourth-year psychology thesis and I can totally relate. I don't want to do it, but once I start it's totally fine haha. It's such an interesting topic and I am enjoying it so much, but it is just so daunting.
Can't wait to read the third book! 🧡

Hey Katie! I think it was in your video before this that you expressed a concern that just sitting around working on client stuff wouldn't be interesting? I know I'm probably in the minority, and I do understand that. I just recently registered my editing business as an LLC after finishing schooling and would be super interested in your work days nowadays as you work on client projects. It also kind of helps with mindset and motivation to me, I think. I just wanted to give input and/or some ideas. Your need to just live without the social media is totally valid, though! Do what helps you!
