Gerry was my closest friend for many years and it's good to see him whereas I remember , he passed just a couple weeks prior to my wife dying

Gerry McGee is a Great guitar player!. A surviving Ventures along Don Wilson , though he is almost an original member who replaced to the late Great Nokie Edwards RIP in 1968( he recently sadly passed away) for Hawaii Five-0 album. They also playing together in many Ventures album in 70's and 80's. Great posting Norman. Greeting from Peru!
That's wild that Gerry actually commented on this video before he passed. What great player. I know him from The Ventures videos on RUclips, but i guess i've heard him on The Monkees and so many other recordings too.
He is very well aquainted with these guys, They all lived around around here back in their studio days with Liberty/U.A..The Ventures, The Monkeys, Just to name a few. Gerry has left quite a legacy, and continues to do so today. According to Don Wilson, "HE'S A HELL OF A GUITAR PLAYER"
Love Jerry all the way to "Accept No Substitute" Delaney & Bonnie and Friends first album.
What a treasure!
The Ventures' 10th Anniversary Album (1970) was my big favorite album with Gerry on guitar back in the day. RIP

I wonder if Norm is actually 'buddies and old friends' with some of these guys on the videos. It would be cool if he is, but I doubt he really is friends with most of these people.

it's a little used car salesman-y to say "one of the greatest guitar players" every time you introduce anyone famous or well known.
but in this case, it's true.
