Doug did a nice job on this one. I've seen this one before at Hobby Lobby, probably should pick it up. I have most the AMT/Round2 trucks. I also got the Sunoco tanker.
Another GREAT review, This kit was on my "list" as one of AMT's first truck kits. I found that after all these years, it was still a very well crafted/designed kit and went together with the same level of skill needed as all the early AMT kits. Your kit came out looking fantastic!
Really nice job on the build. I remember getting this kit for Christmas, in the mid 70's when I was a kid. It had the sleeper, then. I tried to build it with Contact Cement. You can figure out how that went!!! I just bought it again. I am going to take another stab at it, with the right glue, of course!
MD, Thanks, we did the Autocar Dump truck here too! ruclips.net/video/EQrv6_hZ1dA/видео.html - -PS, please subscribe if you haven't already to help us reach more modelers! -Doug
RB, Alclad Transparent Smoke. This is applied through your airbrush. Prepare the windows by cleaning them thoroughly and masking the outside off. Spray one or two light coats (Or more for darker tint) on the inside of the window. It dries quickly and leaves a see-through tinting on the window that has no bubbles or blemishes. Hope that helps! -Doug
SO, I painted this body with a custom mix of PPG Automotive paint. There is no actual color name as I mixed it myself until I got a blend I was happy with. -PS, please subscribe if you haven't already to help us reach more modelers! -Doug

GM, Sounds like a solid plan! -Doug
Nice looking truck, older kits take more work and time but are awesome and fun. Great review, thanks.

I tend to use a surface primer on the chrome parts, the final paint seems to adhere better

Hey Doug, what did you use to tint the windows? I’ve tried Tamiya Smoke but, to me, it’s not dark enough.
