jesus christ you lost a lot of weight. I mean I knew this, I've been watching for about 2 years, but you don't really notice until you have a side by side comparison
good job jay
+makeleletoulalan with an r7 240 attached to the tires so it gets crushed.
+iDillusionist YUSSSSS
+iDillusionist you know much those tires cost i don't think he wants them melting on him while hes biking
+Odorous Smegma did he get gastric bypass?
+iDillusionist XD
So... we're not going to talk about your channel getting hacked? Fair enough. Sorry I mentioned it.
+That DBN He doesn't want to give them attention.
+Sean Buckwell the US office of personnel management that hires hundreds of tech gurus gets hacked
Sean Buckwell Nothing "went wrong". They just cracked his password, which no matter what your password is, can always happen.
+That DBN Be careful, he'll get mad at you for mentioning it kappa
+That DBN He wasn't hacked, there's a backdoor in some youtube partners that allows for videos to be uploaded to the channel without needing to log into the account.
are you going to make a video addressing the hack?
+2110ify im sure he doesn't want to give the hacker the satisfaction
Why address it. The hacker doesnt deserve to be known.
I feel like I should know this... But what hack?
+Tyler Weigand some person hacked his yt and posted a vid saying hacked@theguystwitter which I can't remember
+Tyler Weigand something about a moon guy was the twitter. the video got taken down maybe an hour or two after it posted
Reason why I watch Jay and Linus: They will always tell you exactly what they experienced with the product! Whether it be positive or negative, they tell you if it is shit or not. Or even if it is worth considering. Love both of those guys!
8:32 msi?
Yep, thought that too! :P
Noticed aswell
Man to think this video card came out when I was a sophomore in highschool, now I'm about to graduate college, how time flies. I wish video cards could be this good again.
Thank you Jay.....you finally got around to it and made the 980ti AIO cooling reviews complete......I was waiting on yours, because frankly you are one of the few I trust.
I realy like you leaving the fails into the videos :D This could literally happen to everybody - so you are the one to show what can happen and what to care about! THX!!!
I am so happy that your returning to your EPIC-ly fun roots. This is the style of Jay that I enjoyed and want more of!
Very nice card. I really like the idea of having a AIO on a GPU in my opinion it looks nice while exhausting all that hot air right out the back of the case. Also like how quiet they are compared to some of the air cooled cards out there.
Ive been looking for reviews on this card for soo long..... Thank You jay for giving me the exact video i wanted to see
dude youre magical! I was just looking for reviews from this card!
Pump noise?
+Tea Kay none
+JayzTwoCents hey fam, feel bad just learnt u got
hacked. hope u get everything you lost back.
+JayzTwoCents Finger slicer :)
+JayzTwoCents I really think aio grachics cards are pointless. it's either full water cooling loop or high end custom cooling, aio do work for cpu though.

Good luck with the move. Can't wait to see your new office space. Love the videos, keep them coming.
YOU DIDNT NEED TO CUT THE HARNES!! Just re-pin the existing harness/Plug. All you have to do is get a rather sharp pin, go in through the front (sometimes through the rear), Hold down the locking pin and pull the wire & pin out of the plastic plug......... Then slide the new one into the existing plug............
Wow i haven't realized how much weight you have lost! I've been a subscriber for a long time and i have also watched every video you put out since i subbed. I guess people don't notice change unless its os a large difference. Good job jay!
I've actually had success superglueing fan blades back on, it's fiddly and you need something like a soldering helping hand to hold the blade in place while the glue sets, but I've done it on fans that have worked fine several years afterwards.
I like how he was against ads and only did Dollar Shave Club for the Movember campaign. Now he has the longest Lynda ad out of all other TechTubers.
Hi Jay I've got a little experiment i would like you to try experiment with what household food products you can use as heat sink paste ie wet coffee grounds or ice cream sound like it would be a fun project
love ur show keep up the great work
I had the same thing happen with one of my case fans once, jay. you aren't alone there.
Love that song during the test numbers!
Yess! I know you saw my comments (even though this was planned anyway)! Thanks Jay! So what about the Windforce edition now?? :) With the, umm, RGB fan rings??
I have haacked my fingers and knuckles in several fans leading to blood loss! Several if them broke leaving me with no fan at all... Now I keep a well stocked box of various sized fans as replacements. hope the move goes smoothly for you and yoou can get the new house set up quickly. Kev B
Couldn't recognize the old Jay, good work man! Keep it up!
Holy balls I remember when you put up the video with 3 wc'd gigabytes, and you've lost a ton of weight since then. #GoTeamJay
Damn Jay, congrats on your physical activities. I followed up on your updates of last year but when you showed that clip of yourself, the diff shows. Stay healthy man and great video as always :D
JAY THANK YOU FOR YOUR AWSOME VIDEOS THAT ARE JUST AS GOOD AS LINUS TECH TIPS BUT YOU DON'T HAVE ONE PERSON WORKING ON ALL OF IT THANK YOU!
Thank you so much for doing this review Jay!
You look way younger / better compared to a year ago!
I own this card. When I first started the card up, I heard some odd pump sounds. But once it was situated and left alone (not turned over for instance) I don't hear a pump at all. I haven't pushed it to it's limits yet so I can't say about the fan. But using moderate overclock settings, it's not audible over case fans. I can hear it when I force the fan to 50% or higher, but 50% has never been necessary for me yet. Without touching voltage my card OC's to about 1530 before I have issues. Hoses are very stiff and are quite short. The backplate does get pretty hot despite the rad pulling lots of heat away from the die. It's been hot enough that I can't really touch it. But I'm very happy overall. It runs my x34 predator on late gen games highest settings.
Nice you back jay.
If it was A Delta Fan you would of lost your arm ....
lmao
+neko77025 if it was a delta fan it would have pulled his whole body through it
+neko77025 The first time I got my hand caught in a fan was a delta fan. I was doing some cable management on the PC as I noticed a loose cable as it was booting.... the next thing I knew it felt like a hammer blow to my middle finger, It cut straight to the bone. And then to add insult to injury motehrboard starts squawking about a fan failure. The fan was just fine, and I still run it, but now with no cables near by so that I cannot possibly have a reason to go near it.
A note, that was only the one that pulled two amps at load ( something like 2500RPM). the 4 amp 252 CFM fan would probably break my finger as well.
True, haha
+Joseph Florentine Yea it would ... I have/had(dont use anymore) 2x TFB1212GHEs 120x38mm 220CFM and used them for A comp I ran on the other side of A wall that I played on .. (could still hear them)... but when I first got them .. OMG i was so scared of them .. like really scared.
I later got FFB1212EH would be its baby bro only 150 CFM .. but when I unpacked it .. it had all kinds of warnings on it showing chopped off fingers and broken bones .. I WAS LOLing so hard when i seen them stickers.
I damaged A PCI-E 6 pin that went into the FFB1212EH ... was not use-able after that (the cable) they fan still works tho.
They are crazy fans, for everyone who has not used one .. look them up on youtube .. they sound like A vacum cleaner.
I'd love to see a 390x with a custom PCB with a dual 8 pin + 6 pin with a water block that also cools the VRM and memory. it's neat seeing more Maxwell cards that are IMHO over engineered but almost all the 390x I've seen people OC have ran into what seem to be power delivery limits and improper VRM cooling.
The only thing I learnt from this video was that the Titan X is terrible value for money.
+Shivam Kumar
Indeed they are. There was never any doubt that any card in the Titan series are terrible value.
980ti Lightning FTW.
+Shivam Kumar You guys are aware Titans are way older then 980s right? Titans were obtaining 980 and 980ti numbers 3-4 years ago.
silentk59 The Titan X isn't that much older. The 980 Ti is just a locked down Titan X.
+Shivam Kumar its depend how u use it, 980ti is pure gaming performance when titan X have double ROP and precision it mean good for GPU computing , CMIIW
No idea why they put RGBs in there then use convoluted tubing..... I guess they want people to buy the MSI Seahawk or EVGA Hybrid instead.
YOU REALLY HAVE GOT TO MENTION THE INTRO MUSIC YOUR USING!!!
I feel bad not knowing what it is!
Whoa @JayzTwoCents! Where you get that shirt? I work for Oldcastle. Crazy. Nice videos btw!
i know this is old now but still relevant for people buying used, the gig xtremes also came with xoc bios mode and a little button to put it into this state as well as an extra 6 pin power connector allowing the full 1.274v , also raised powertarget to 130% and base clocks , under oc these consistantly hit 1575mhz on lowest bin and up to 1650 mhz on best bin using the factory oc bios on water which put it well ahead of all the competition, alas was too late to the party and too close to 10 series launch to really get the recognition it deserved .
i was waiting for a new video lol. i love learning new pc stuff. you're like my go-to guy.
I think the 6 pin connector on the side is there because it's an optional plug for more overclocking headroom.
Yet another brilliant example of why you are my favorite youtuber. Great video Jay!
Got 2 EVGA 980 TI Hybrids SLI in mine (runs Fire Stike Extreme @ 15390) . No pump noise, but sometimes you hear water sluch around (my rads are top mounted). The EVGA versions have fans with connectors outside of the card housing (so on the wire), replacing them is easy as unplugging them. I have mine running of a NZXT Grid+ controller. Waterblocks are on the way to go full EK custom loop.
First off, I have to say Jay you look incredible. Keep up the amazing work! Now onto the techie stuff ....there are just so manyyyyyy 980tis on the market now it's literally driving me crazy. I have an msi gtx 970 but honestly I have the upgrade itch bad, I just don't know if it will be a worthwhile enough upgrade to justify the hefty price tag. First world problems for sure. As always great video! :)
very retro music in the benchmark part i found my self bobbing my head lol
Jay uses 80's porn music for benchmark, no one bats an eye, Reviewtechusa does it, all of a sudden it's dooms day.
Not first.
Nice to see you back on track Jay.
Good luck with moving, Jay!
Would like to point something out- you called it an MSI unit at 8:30, might want an annotation for that :P
You're such a likeable dude Jay! God darn your hair looked a bit ordinary back in 2014 though!!
Great upload, great review!
I love the little shout out to the hackers with the music. that should be the new standard music.
great review for a pretty decent card, i love your longer reviews
Mine will be here tomorrow. I'm going to put the band aids on first to raise slash resistance. Pascal probably won't be something I look at until 4k monitors up in size and decrease in price... But with as much technology they make now. It'll all have to be liquidated before they decide to pour in the new tech.
OMG JAY IS MOVING!!!
+Kevin Ruan Your the only one that noticed that part and im assuming had no idea! But neither did I!
+Kevin Ruan He's using his 9K a month to move kappa
Jay, they have had the single 980 for a long while but I haven't seen any reviews of it. I didn't buy it because of that. I'd link the product but typing it would take a long time. The product name is GV-N980WAOC-4GD
Jay I am awfully sorry about your cut finger! The only time I have broke a fan was on the bottom of my case before I learned how to manage my cables. You will just have to be more careful
I'd get the card but... the irreplaceable fan kills it for me.
This card may be a great option for some people but, I'd prefer to be able to easily replace a fan if something were to happen to it.
+Aimela I'm getting the card and gonna try to set the fan speed independently from the pump speed to 0% and just cram it in a corner inside my case, put on a NF-F12 and control it via the motherboard.
If that doesn't work even with a modified BIOS I'm gonna cut the cable.
Of all the "Hybrid" (or watercooled) cards, this is by far the ugliest and would never make it's way in my rig..
+TeaRex have you seen the EVGA Hybrid?
980ti Poseidon from Asus is not a bad looking card though ;)
+CrazyLuckyGamer0 ' personally i hate how that card looks...
Bengy22 I hate how it looks too. Read the context. He says this card is the ugliest while I say the EVGA one is.
***** It's not a hybrid which is why his comment is irrelevant. It's just a glorified Water Block.
Happened to me once on a stock Intel CPU cooler. I accidentally put my finger too close and broke the blade and it cut me. Superglued it back together, worked without a problem :D
Could have rewired it with a proper plug for easy fan replacement, the plugs should be pretty easy to find. You could have also just plug the cut wires into the one from the fan, just match the wires.
I know you don't have the time for everything, but I think it would have been nice with results from the damaged fan.
That way, you could see how much the temperatures were affected.
I guess this will be beneficial if you live in warmer climate. I am in the opposite situation and also I have independent AC cooling where my PC is located so Water cooling is unnecessary. I think it's too late and I am sticking with G1 980TI
I love this channel. Even mistakes are beneficial to us..probably would never have noticed fan cable issue. This water cooler is definitely low end of the 980ti.
whyd you delete the hacker video? it was fucking hilarious.
wow, the lightning with no asic promise is killing most of them
My impressions when I saw the exterior design, "SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY!!!" But seriously that thing looks amazing.
Lack of modularity on the fan seems like a general dealbreaker. Issues like having to partially deconstruct or RMA just to replace a fan don't seem worthwhile if the performance is still so similar in most regards to air cooled cards. The idea seems really neat, but the nonstandard fan connector, when competitors are going standard, just looks troublesome.
Cool video Jay . I was wondering how hot my loop should get during a normal gaming load , its interesting to learn that a simple 120mm rad and GPU loop runs a similar temp to Skunkworks with 3 GPU's and larger rads. My loop has 2 GPU's and a CPU in the same loop with 2 rads a 140mm and a 420mm and I get similar temps while gaming usually between 45c and 50c , nice to know this is fairly normal.
I'm proud (in your place) when I see those flashbacks compared to you now! #TeamJay
should have made a diy on how you changed the fan out, was there any soldering involved? How did you get the pump and fan to work when you replaced it?
Jay, i would really really like you to do a video concerning AMD's current situation with the entirety of their financual problems, about their future as seen in roadmaps and a sort off educational speech about how amd came to be and its relationship with intel. Im sorry for any typos but im not a native speaker of english!
great info for those who don't know about the card! thanks Jay!
he doesn't address the hacker because this was made in the past probably. Not because he doesn't want to FEED THE TROLLS
It wasn't a hacker, someone exploited a backdoor in a program (forgot which one).
I know how he did it but I wouldn't call him a backdoorer but it deosn't matter I was just saying my opinion on why he didn't address the backdoorer in this video
Very cool to see you run into some issues only a few people will run into.
Oh lee shit! I didn't realize how much weight you lost until I saw that older video! Congrats man!
I just cut my hand on my GPU fan not too long ago fan blade broke too and it's a powerlogic too. Cost me a pretty penny to replace it.
Jay, I miss you old intro music man. Please bring it back!
I feel you Jay! I accidentally put my finer near my 230mm top fan.... The balade did not fall off but instead it buried 1 cm down in my finger.... That seriously hurt, like some one took a hammer and bashed with full force, then took a razor and cut it open :S My first computer
Noob question, but couldn't you just have popped off the fan blades and replaced just them? Really good video, thanks Jay. I actually like the raw industrial look of the card without the juvenile looking shroud.
lynda please teach the women at 0:54 how to use a cardioid microphone!
It is Oc Guru software And they also released a 980 waterforce card, maybe 5 months back
Dont like that gonna have to change out my power supply to use that too many power holes and also nice tutorial on how to change fan on video cooling system
At 2:10 bro, bro... bro THAT'S for all us SUPER 1337 MLGPRO 420 NOSCOPEZZ... bro.
I definitely prefer the extreme aircooled card, the rgb ring around the fans are pretty and something different from the usual!
I love how the card itself looks (just peel off the sticker), but I can see the tubing is too short for plenty of configurations. Also, soft tube would be a nice touch at least aesthetically. Other than that, it's a great looking card (performance-wise, it's a 980ti with a custom pcb, nothing spectacular).
I really liked this video Jay, if I had the cash I would go out and buy this specific edition of the 980ti over the rest thanks to you :)
Yeah sometimes if the fan blade is oriented a certain way, they can turn into Jack the Ripper on your finger. Had the same thing with one of my fans.
I know your pain Jay. I've been cut by a fan before too. And it was an 80/60 mm fan on 12 volts. Not fun. Was for nothing too, those fans were meant for a robot but never went in anyway.
Hack'd and now he's back, couldn't imagine not watching another one of Jayz2cents vids. hope they caught the SOB, good looking out.
This guy deserves way more than 500k subs
You should stick to one idea per video. "Will blood work to cool your GPU?" is probably interesting enough to have it's own video without encroaching on this one. ;)
+1 m8
Gigabyte going the extra mile and putting razor fans on to allow it to defend itself from thieves. 10/10 IGN.
Could you make a vídeo on custom BIOS? talk about pros, cons and the process of geting it
Hey Jay, which Testbench are you using? Awesome video's please keep going :-)
whoa @JayzTwoCents you look way bigger in that earlier video
its more convinient to have a removeable 3/4pin fan connector in that beauty rather than a fixed wirring
@JayzTwoCents cant you just pull the fan blade off the spindle for a quick swap? i think mnpctech shows that on a vid for painting the fans. May not be able to do with ball bearing fans tho I dont know was just a thought....
Was thinking about picking this card up, however i think i might wait for the next generation of cards coming soon
i broke 2 fan blades on a case fan and super glued them back on and they have been fine for a month.
Was i lucky?
+Hulster Hulse
Must be good glue but probably screws up the balance of the fan and reduces life-spawn, still better than a broken fan though.
i didn't know they came off and was wondering why my case rocking around and the fan had clipped the fan filter.
I think what helped was that it was a clean brek
Hulster Hulse One of my front fans also had a clean broken off blade. Kept it until my old case went "out of service".
You can really tell the weight loss and you look great. Keep it up!
I know its hard to get a standard tube length cause it's hard to meet every usage case, but those tubes and rad look so short for orientation/placement etc...
Good luck with the move! And this card does not appeal to me at all. It is probably the plastic shroud, and then the fan replacement issues.
