With the clay balls at the bottom how does any nutrient get to the Coco? The smart valve only fills to about half an inch and the clay balls are deeper than this and they don't wick. I'm imagining that roots will grow down into the liquid but all the Coco will be bone dry.

We guess you could try but it sort of defeats the point of having an automated system? You'd also need to make sure that you allow a period of time for any run-off before putting the pots back on the trays, otherwise the thicker organic nutrient solution is still going to find a way into your pipes, causing potential blockages. Our general advice is still not to do this - good luck experimenting and let us know how you get on!
you can feed organically with the new upgrade of aquavalve5, my english is not that good so i have one piece copied. AQUAvalve5 - a 66% Bigger Inlet The needs of growers are ever-evolving, served by an increasingly diverse range of nutrients. With a 5mm inlet, the new AQUAvalve5 rises to the challenge of delivering the widest range of nutrients in a faster flow for a quicker fill, maximising system efficiency. Maintenance is reduced and the risk of blockages minimised. Also you can make it compatible with the autopots you already have, read more here. www.manchesterhydroponics.co.uk/product/autopot-aqua-valve-5/
An air stone would work, but not with organic nutrients really, or normal SHOGUN Sumo Boost. You would need an air pump and air stone. A normal pump would certainly help keep the nutrients nicely mixed, but would not necessarily offer much in the way of oxygenation.
So the "Root Control Disc." I got the single 2 pot system and one guide says to "place the Root Control Disc inside the pot gold face down" and then on the other guide that's with that package says to "place the Root Control Disc in the try gold face up!" so this makes things a bit confusing and conflicting... I have 2 15L auto pots, 2" clay pebbles and coco on top with air domes.. PH in my pots seems to climb drastically higher than my resevoir PH, and become stagnant. I'm getting lockout issues because of this. What am I doing wrong. Nothing but issues with these pots. Ph in is 5.7
This is just a guess but did you use ph stable clay pebbles? And if not soak the clay pebbles in water ph’d to 5.5 for 48. Hours before potting up with them. They could be causing your high ph in the pots
@@brettbecker6543 hey bret sorry for the late reply. Thanks for yours. I did not soak the pebbles, but I rinsed them very thoroughly to remove the dust. I recently switched to a small RO system. Just gave the new crop thier first watering with that. Will see how it goes. Thanks again for your thoughts. To add to that the ph was climbing in the res mainly and flowing to the pots.

The system is awesome but the fact that u have to use mineral fertilizer scares me😂 tryed it once and absolutely killed my plant after just fucking up once
This is something we've never come across in this system, there is only a small amount of solution left in the bottom tray. We recommend keeping the nutrient solution in your tank fresh and clean. Use a good medium in your AutoPot like 60/40 Clay Coco or 70/30 Coco. Usually with light loving plants they will also be drinking quite a lot so there is a low risk of root rot or fungus.
there's 2 solutions for that , 1 - once the trays are full shut off the feed line till the water in the trays gets sucked up by the plant , once empty wait a cpl days and refill the trays and repeat ... 2 - there's air domes suggested to use inside your pots to feed air bubbles to the roots .... these should prevent your issues , gl

After spending to get a good fan and controller T6 to regulate the tent and humidity, it seems natural to regulate the feeding as well, so you have a set table and feed sheet to work from as you fine tune your nutes ratios.

Do you have to run a pump in the reservoir of the autopot system or is that just recommended??

Hi!
Can I feed organic nutrients, like compost teas ? If so, what's the best way ? Just dump in the reservoir, or feed directly in the pots ?
Thanks.
We would not advise that you use organic nutrients with the AutoPot System. They're too thick and gloopy, often blocking the pipes.

Do you happen to know what garland trays they use in this video looking for those exact dimension ones for my grow tent.
In this video we used Jumbo Garland Trays: www.growell.co.uk/growing-systems/pots-trays/garland-work-trays.html
What size tent are you growing in?
why shouldnt we use a air stone in the tank?
What model water pump is used in this video?

Do you have to open the tap all the way up? My system just over pours if I do? I have reset valves ect.. Any advice be great Cheers...
No, you don't have to open the valve all the way. You can partially open the valve to reduce the flow.
No dirt for me, rockwool and clay pebbles for hydroponics.
Do you have an example that you can link for everyone?
Coco isn't dirt. Neither is peat. It's called soil.
I was curious can you use rockwool with this system?
You can use Cellmax Growing Cubes, which are made out of rockwool. :)

can you actually use a pump in the rez? im getting getting conflicting reports
Just a circulation pump. It's gravity fed to the trays.
The tiny pump is too keep the solution well mixed. Not for distribution of the solutions.
Still have yet to try it but I’ve heard you can just use an aquarium wave maker or two depending on the size of your rez to keep the solution mixed
once you by media does it ever need replacing?
We'd recommend for best results use fresh media every crop.
