The war is a way different case. 2 withers while techno and the dream team obliterate people who try to kill the withers plus the fact that most people on the dream smp isn't even stacked.
Eret usually summons and fights Withers inside a Pyramid that he built so they can't escape, but I believe the Pyramid has seen too much damage for it to be safe to use now. The reason they were able to hear the Wither this time is probably because he's in a closer location.
The reason they were able to hear the wither is because the wither noise and end portal opening can be heard for all players in the game, no matter the distance they are from said thing.

Techno offered them help to overthrow the government that revoked them. When they finally succeeded, Tommy claims himself to be king, gave the position to Wilbur which then gave it to Tubbo. Witnessing them install a new government made Technoblade furious because he said he didn’t want a new government. So, he spawned 2 withers. From then on, Technoblade was regarded as a traitor (I think).

This better be a easy mode thing because on bedrock if you are hit once by the wither you’re dead without potions or golden apples. And if on java you can just tank 50 hits with out getting withered imma be so mad
The wither is actually harder in bedrock. Bedrock edition uses the old wither ai before the 1.9 update. And regarding the smp difficulty, I think they turned it to easy to avoid loads of creepers from greifing the smp
It's kind of both. They're playing on Easy difficulty, and the JE Wither is somewhat different from the BE one. Main thing that's directly harder about BE Wither instead of just different attack patterns and stuff is that it has twice as much health, though.

Spawning withers is definitely allowed. Eret has a lot of beacons already. However, one of the rules of the Dream SMP is that no one is allowed to go to the End. Hence no one has elytras or shulker boxes.
At 1:30 is Eret's pov of spawning the wither. My dude just needed some more beacons.
