I must have watched this a million times as a 3-4 year old and I NEVER knew why I loved it so much. coming back to it as an adult I am REELING at how ahead of it's time hilarious this whole thing is. Wegman is in the art textbook in my class I'm taking now, and it's easy to see why from even this alone.
Also the fact that you can find this exact type of deadpan, surrealist humor on modern platforms such as TikTok just makes this so much funnier because it truly was ahead of its time
This makes me kind of sad. My grandma used to take me to the library as a kid and she introduced me to William Wegman books and videos. I loved them and read/watched them repeatedly. I miss you Grandma :(
Wow!!!! This is so nostalgic!!! I had both this and Fay's 12 days of Christmas on VHS. Remembered watching them at my grandparent's especially during the Holidays and early Saturday mornings at home. Those weimaraners were too precious. Thank you for sharing your furry companions and work with us.
My grandma has this DVD still and we would always watch it at her house as kids, its so lovely and adorable I had a blast watching this as a kid and it was great bonding time! :)
Wegman’s work was also so fascinating to me as a child I was drawn to it because I grew up around dogs my aunt and uncle who lived next to us had a weimaraner so to naturally I adored such unique artwork involving dogs.
I bought this on VHS at the SF MOMA probably 15ish years ago. After my VCR became extinct have been wanting to watch it ever since. So glad I found it here, thank you!
Me too! Sometimes this tape often allows me to surf the web and party plan at the same time when counting down and looking forward to special events that are happening in each month of the year so Xmas returns faster
I loved the William Wegman books whenever Mom dropped me off at the bookstore as a kid. (B.Dalton, and Waldenbooks anyone??:) but had no idea there were videos as well. Surprised I never saw this, being an 80’s and 90’s kid!
Some of this music I recognize from Baby Einstein. That reminds me: where can I find a good recording of Mozart's Variations of "Ah vous dirai-je, Maman" to listen to?
Sometimes this video’ll allow me to party plan when surfing the web and of course… spell out the title of a special event I’m counting down and looking forward to
Good stuff. Gonna be honest, I was traumatized by the red rooster. I watched this about a hundred times when I was a kid. But I was scared to death of that red rooster. Genuinely terrified. I would cover my ears and bury my head into the sofa 😂 and that’s why I’ve had a fear of roosters my whole life
Haha. When I was little, I was scared of this scene in leapfrog's letter factory. It's in the G room scene, when Professor Quigley tries to lift a weight and says "This thing weighs a ton"! I would hide my face during that scene.😂 If you haven't seen the letter factory you should check it out.
Came here to say the same exact thing. Had to have been almost 25 years ago when I last watched this but I’ve remembered being scarred by the rooster literally my entire life.
😅😅😅 couldn't take my eyes of off that video!! Excellent!! I'm assuming this is quite old! I didn't realise they were doing this with doggies so long ago! Horrible to see their tails cut off like that though.
The deadpan narration is what makes this so great.
Agreed!
Grover
Agreed, Wegman is hilarious
This has aged like a fine wine. Perfect for memes
Fay and her family will never get old.
Lolllllll
D for Deez Nut-
And analog horror
@@mtluko03it has already transitioned to that

That and the dogs are fucking cute.
SAAAAAAME
Literally the SAME
This is what I would watch after school every day to help me reset
hi baby
Honestly, this video muted in a completely silent room is an experience.
It’s like a [REDACTED] even with the narration
Also the fact that you can find this exact type of deadpan, surrealist humor on modern platforms such as TikTok just makes this so much funnier because it truly was ahead of its time
I wish I could pet all of them! And they’re all so well behaved and smart!
Weimaraners are naturals at sitting still
This is the first piece of media I remember watching. Period.
It's late, I'm a grown man, I got work tomorrow (a lot of it), and I'm watching this instead of sleeping. Yay🙂
Those dogs are such good actors
Weimaraner dogs are said to be natural when it comes to staying still :)
Holy nostalgia! I used to watch this every single day as a little kid. Man, we sure did have some weird videos in the 90s
Ah yes this explains my sense of humor
This was my favorite videotape when I was little so the fact that it’s available on RUclips has sent me to nostalgic heaven!
Snack snack, a midnight snack!
I’ll be back for another snack
I love how his “snack” was sandwiches which implies multiple sandwiches.

Some real Lynchian stuff. This used to freak me out as a kid haha.
Pure art.
I know I’m pretty young to say this, but I used to watch this all the time as a toddler. 2008 btw
"Mmmmmm... More Milk"
"You still have some."
My Mom would quote this throughout my childhood.
This is absolutely hilarious and clever. I just love all these skits so much.
this made up my entire childhood and I'm so glad I've found it again

William Wegman is very talented. 👏😁
Yes!!!! I love Chundo and Fey! Thank you for posting this sweet, SWEET nostalgia! I’m only revisiting this ohh, 18 years later. Hahaha
This is the funniest and cutest and most surreal piece of film I have ever witnessed
Man I remember watching the Christmas one MILLIONS of times and I never knew why I loved that particular one
11:21 My favorite part. I always strangely get amused with that dog drinking milk

Dogs should not drink milk.

I’m almost 22 and I’m here for every letter, I want to see what dog is coming next and what situation the dogs will be in next.
That's where Sesame Street got this? WOW!! :D I LOVE IT!!
I loved the William Wegman books whenever Mom dropped me off at the bookstore as a kid. (B.Dalton, and Waldenbooks anyone??:) but had no idea there were videos as well. Surprised I never saw this, being an 80’s and 90’s kid!

This is clever, fun and would be great for samples. I love the different instruments and creative touches. The dogs are cute too
Omg i love this!!You need more fans than that!!
That's borderline experimental.
& Now The Return of Fay! W. A.L. M. T. F.!
Gotta love the 90's, & all it's randomness lol
Batty seems to pucker up her chops or lips pretty frequently. And she closes and squints her eyes a lot. She’s so sweet.
I especially love the classical music.
18:07 18:11 18:16 that Train Whistle sound effect sounded like Rainbow sun Carlos and Lexi's!
It actually Came from CN #3254’s Broken sounded Whistle in the late 1980’s
Sometimes this video’ll allow me to party plan when surfing the web and of course… spell out the title of a special event I’m counting down and looking forward to
Cuz I’ve got an awesome vocabulary!
12:32 Can You Think Of A Word That Begins With The Letter N? (How About Nothing.)
24:13 you can see the actor's head behind the dog.

Me too! I think in large part because it was loud and I hated loud noises as a kid. Although I didn’t maintain a dislike of roosters.
