  • In this video, I show you how to open the CyberPowerPC Gamer Master Gaming Desktop Model GMA6000BSDF and inspect each component to find its model number and comment on its upgradeability. Based on the AMD Ryzen 7 2700X and an AMD Radeon RX 580, I'll dismantle the left, right, and front faces of the case to reveal the CPU, motherboard, graphics card, power supply, motherboard, memory, and storage, and determine what you might be able to upgrade.
    As mentioned in the video, BIOS updates are available on CyberPowerPC's website, under Motherboards, then BIOS:

    I will maintain a list of components that viewers have found in their computer, and keep track of successfully upgraded parts or other information as comments come in.

    I'm relatively new to gaming on computers and have only recently begun upgrading said computer. The first step was to brave the process of switching out ram sticks. Went from 4 gbs of ram to 32. Very simple, but I was afraid of ruining my computer for some reason. Now, the upgrades I want require more power, so I wanted to make sure the power supply could handle it. This video helped me figure it out, and I appreciate it. Keep up the great work

I put in a 2 tb ssd for storage on the inside of the right side of the case. Also updated the ram to 16 gigs of crucial sport 3200mhz gaming ram. Mine also came with the msi bazooka mother board. I have a b350m bazooka in mine and I had to upgrade the bios to accept the ryzen 7 3700x but it does work. I also have g-skill ram up to 32 GB running at 3200 MHz. The CPU is overclocked game boost to 4.2 gigahertz. I bought my computer about two years ago so it doesn't have the two fans in the front so I need to figure out some more air cooling. I'm also looking to upgrade my graphics card because the four gigabyte card just doesn't do well in certain games

    Hi! First of all great video it's very helpful thank you! I have a question. I bought my Cyberpower PC a few years back at Bestbuy and it came with a Ryzen 5 2600 and an RX 580 4gb. I did however upgrade that 4 gb version to an 8 gb version but I notice when using MSI Afterburner my temps run a little to high for my liking. The case only came with two fans pre-installed one in the front (bottom) and one in the back. They are both the same kind of Apevia fans as in this video. I also recently applied new thermal paste to the cpu and temps went down just a little. I believe I need more fans for better air flow but I have no idea which fans are compatible with this case. How many fans can the power supply support? Should I just install a better cpu cooler and some additional fans to help reach lower temperatures or upgrade my psu or other components as well? Thank you :)

      When you undo the thumbscrews, they should dangle from the panel (they don't come all the way out). If they're undone, there should be a slight bend on the sheet metal that forms a handle, where I pull on it at the 6:38 mark. You might have to pull fairly hard - just be careful...

    • @accessrandom

      The advantage of building your own system is that you know exactly which quality components you are getting since you choose what goes inside your PC. Sometimes, pre-built machines have limited upgradeability. However, this particular model has all standard parts so it's very simple to upgrade if you need to. The only question is the CPU at the moment - I'm not sure if it will go beyond 2nd generation Ryzens, though I suspect it can.

      The wifi chip is on the motherboard which is an ASRock B540M, but I believe it is an OEM board. After doing some research on google, it looks like you could replace the wifi/antennae with another type-e card (but I haven't tried this personally so no guarantees) - or you could add a PCI-e Wifi card.

      If you'd like to add RAM to the existing memory, I would recommend you match the same brand/model that you currently have, which (in my case) is the ADATA AX4U300038G16-BWZ. If that's not possible, try to match the same specs (DDR4-3000 1.35V CL16-20-20). You may want to double-check your brand/model since CyberPowerPC could substitute something else. In terms of the SSD, any 2.5" SSD will work (there is only one M.2 slot so you won't be able to add any more in that form factor). You'll need four screws/screwdriver to hold the SSD in its tray, and a SATA data cable to connect it to one of the SATA ports shown at the 5:31 mark.

      Sure - when you install your hard drive, whether it's on the side (as I show at the 7:16 mark) or the front (at the 7:45 mark), you'll need two cables for that one drive: the SATA power cable and the SATA data cable. The SATA power cable is included in the bundle of cables that I show at 6:48. The SATA data cable is not included in the computer so you'll need to obtain one. With the computer turned off, you'll want to plug the SATA data and power cables to the back of the hard drive. The other end of the SATA data cable will plug into one of the four ports at the 5:29 mark.

      The power supply will be visible at the 7:16 mark when you remove the solid panel (not the one with the window). To actually see the model number information, you would need to remove the four screws in the back of the power supply that hold it to the case, then take it out it to see its label.

    I have the Ryzen 5 3600 version does anyone know if it would be possible to upgrade to cpu to a ryzen 5 5600, with the way gpu prices are right now i thought i would start with the cpu. I already upgraded the ram and added a 1tb ssd

    • @accessrandom

      I'm not sure if it's possible but I know that other ASRock B450M motherboards can handle the 5600 if you update the BIOS before you install the new chip. However, it will really depend on the exact model of the motherboard - I'll need to defer to others who may have your model. Anyone?

      Thanks man. Even though it's a capable card, the RX 580 is now considered older and mid-to-low end and the 4GB limits it even more. I'd say the graphics card is probably the one good upgrade you could make, maybe to a 5700/5800 series AMD Radeon.

      I haven't played COD Warzone so I'll need to let others chime in. It looks like they have a set of "recommended" and then a "recommended additional" and "competitive" requirements on their website. At the very least, you'll probably want to upgrade your memory to 16 GB.

    • @accessrandom
      @accessrandom  3 года назад

      I haven't received many reports of upgrades because the motherboard/power supply is standard - which means almost any component can be successfully upgraded. In other non-standard pre-builts (like the HP I show here: ruclips.net/video/V2lfuqKojvE/видео.html), the motherboard/power supply is highly non-standard and thus I get many more reports there...

  • @RS-jp3kg

    • @accessrandom
      @accessrandom  3 года назад +1

      Make sure to protect yourself from static discharge (for example an ESD strap), then remove all the components attached to the motherboard, like graphics card, cables from power supply, any SATA cables from hard drives, case fan power). You'll see screws that fasten the motherboard to the case, so take those off - you can then swap it out with another motherboard.

    • @accessrandom

      @@RS-jp3kg There is a small clip where the card is inserted into the motherboard, which you release to remove the graphics card. You shouldn't have a problem going from Ryzen 3 to 7 within the same series (for example, the 2000 series, or 2nd generation). It's only when you go from the 2000 to 3000 series, for example, where you may need to update your BIOS.
