    Should have had Bach in the background ! Stories are not only the enthusiasm, the information, but also the Story, where the narrator knows exactly where he is situated, so that you know too.
    I'm writing this for myself !
    Thanks buddy ! Work of art.
    I have a friend in Hobart makes whisky. Expect a visit !

    ALEX!!! THIS! I am floored my friend, I was smiling the entire length of your video. Being from Buffalo N.Y. we tend to be a proud bunch of humans over here, and you definitely did us proud 👏.

      Glad you enjoyed it! That shot of me spinning it up for the first time, the cheese eating grin is 100% genuine haha

    epic job mate! When i did the same thing to my Ex Defence Force Rapco Blower i liked the look of the Wirewheeled Rusty Finish so much that I Clear coated straight over the top of it all, did the same to the buffalo rivet forge i attached it to, and then when i had to make a new fire barrel for the rivet forge i made it from mild steel and then kept spraying vinegar over it every day for a week or so lol.

    Mine had a handle in exactly the same condition. Took a little effort to restore mine, including making a new handle, fan and fan bush, but it came out great.

      I got my Buffalo blower from an old smith who told me not to grease it, but rather use oil through the hole in the top of the casing using a small oil can. Grease will gum up over time, but the oil keeps it lubed well.

    • @ValhallaIronworks
      @ValhallaIronworks  11 месяцев назад

      This model had no hole for oil. I did toy with the notion of adding an oiler to it, but I was taught by an old smith to ALWAYS grease your blowers! I guess everywhere there's someone saying one thing, there's someone saying another!

    A deep bath in white vinegar is great for getting rid of surface rust on the housings. Might take a couple of days and a bit of wire brushing but it will come up like it was just cast.

      I know, but like I said in the video I had extremely limited time to do this.

    They sell sockets for driving the square tang on taps.

      I know, but this is a good alternative which can be done with tools most people have on hand

    Ill be very interested how you manage the mount and if you build a seperate forge or plumb it into something existing. I am thinking this will be a portable demo forge for me.

    • @ValhallaIronworks
      @ValhallaIronworks  11 месяцев назад +2

      I'm actually thinking of modifying my current coal forge to have a mount for it, as I love the design a great deal. If I do, I'll post about it!

    Why did you leave the forgecast? You were the main reason I listened to it. Lol. (I love Sam too, but really enjoyed listening to you and your opinions).

      Lots of reasons! Mostly personal. But you know me, you'll still hear a lot of my opinions elsewhere lol

    What is the model of that blower?

    • @ValhallaIronworks
      @ValhallaIronworks  10 месяцев назад

      I'm not sure the exact model, just of the brand. It's a Buffalo. If I were to make an educated guess, I believe it's a No. 500

    Maybe just a clear coating of a good paint sealer? Looks old but are protected against the korrosion?
