I would like to watch this beautiful sculpture all day, but I enjoyed the introduction and seeing something of the mechanics of this artwork's engineering. Very nice, and thank you for posting it!
So beautiful, so wonderful to watch for meditation. Please could you make a DVD so that I could have it on my TV screen at home in Australia? If you can, how can I buy one? Margaret
Awesome and beautiful. Love it! That must be one of the lovely attractions there at Changi which helped it find favor with travelers and win so many awards, even the best airport in the world....
You can see another project using water droplets and strobes on our channel EpidemicVideo: The 3D Water Matrix (2014) designed to create animated water droplets artworks. The 3D Water Matrix premiered at Cité des sciences et de l’industrie of Paris from April 2014 to January 2015 and was exhibited last year at ZKM, Karlsruhe and MACRO Testaccio in Rome. It is currently exhibited at Power Station of Art in Shanghai until the 30th of July before to come back to Europe at Halles de Schaerbeek in Brussels in October and Le Manège, Mauberge in November. Since the premiere, three artists have been commissioned to produce artworks for this project : Shiro Takatani (Japan), Christian Partos (Sweden) and Ulf Langheinrich (Germany). The 3D Water Matrix got a CODAaward in 2015. Other commissions are on process.
The 10% showing of sculpture in motion was great, absolutely outstanding. The 90% time talking and close-ups of the drops was to say in the least was a waste of time. Please make a video of nothing but the piece in motion, you would get nothing but posiitve comments as well as allowing the viewers to feel the real beauty of the work.
breath taking, absolutely beautiful, but you take 90% of the video talking instead of showing... I saw the video about it, sounded like it was made by the designers, but now I have to see other videos to actually see whats that. . one of the first rules of cinema: show, don't tell. . but still... unbelievably amazing!!! honestly incredible sculpture
and even more: What's with the vertical video bit at the end of this otherwise interesting and beautifully filmed and edited piece? "Dude, we need more of the actual thing" "Thanks God I got my iPhone"
our company manufactuere this, we regitered patent in china, dmx winch motor, with steel wire, we focus on Kinetic system, dmx winch, lifting balls , stage visuals. my email is eastsun002@eastsunlite.com,welcome talk.
It's cool...but really? The video showing the full view is from a cell phone or something handheld? The main video director was to artsy to show the full scale sculpture and just zoomed in on the individual droplets? Le sigh.
Anyone else think it completely unnecessary for there to be subtitles? Sure they have accents (German?) but they probably speak better English than most young English speaking teens.
And why should it be that way? Who are you to enforce boundaries on others' artwork? Are you confusing the concept of the project with the title assuming it was related to environmental issues? I'm not sure what is your reasoning behind using self-propulsion other than the idea of having it use "pure" kinetic energy which doesn't correlate to what the artwork is about.
Yup, the idea is totally not unique. I've seen quite a lot similar "kinetic sculptures", just look at the related videos and you can see almost identical installation in BMW museum.
I would take about 2 hours more time to stay at the airport ... watching this ... great ... thank you!
RIP. Rest in pieces.
When I was in the airport in the night, it was all quiet, and seeing those raindrops, it felt so relax and peaceful.
I love the energy of the man describing the sculpture! What great fun they have had creating this wondrous piece!
Sad to see this beautiful piece is damaged :(
TheCookieraider135 by the girl?
Hæ thërę potatos I've been seeing a lot of people comment recently on this. Did RUclips recommend it to everyone?
By that one recommended video
A butterfly Yup.
A China woman who missed her flight destroyed it.
3:28 to skip the intro
Thx dude!
Sirake thank uuuuuuu 😘
Truly an modern art piece without the stilted, unmoving wall piece. Fluid and mesmerizing!
Thank you to the creators and to the Singapore Government.
I came from the video where a woman was destroying it cause she was pulling it😂😂😂😂
@Alondra Rodriguez Me too
Me three
Me four
what the hack
Best part about being half-Finnish half-Singaporean
You can feel pride for both at the same time when it comes to this.

I went to eu on terminal one early this year. never seen the kinetic balls flowing up and down??????
i left singapore while they the mylar string and when i came back it was the kinetic rain and i was like HOLY SHIT THAT IS AWSOME!!!

one of the first rules of cinema: show, don't tell.
.
but still... unbelievably amazing!!! honestly incredible sculpture
is it running on free radiant energy? otherwise its not nice.. it should be perpetum without any external energy input
What is helping the drops with the movement without string?
wow! could you tell me what is the software?
So cool! Are the raindrops on cables?
aaaw this is just fantastic! thanks :-)
Sincrônico e harmonioso! Gostei
Did you guys see that vid of a lady who destroyed it?
Yes
@Alondra Rodriguez yes
@Alondra Rodriguez Are you serious?
That's what brought me here🤣🤣
I always thought kinetic sculptures needed no engines or motors to work.
any idea which company dose this kind of job ? thanks
can users or any external factors affect the behavior?
But someone broke it
Urgot is impressed... Hyper Kinetic Position Reverser
Just Awesome!
a real beauty.....
where is HD when you need it?
excellent
nice job
Beautiful sculpture, but rain drops, aren't tear shaped
I agree subtitles are neccessary but Singapore's first language is English, mind you.. we're the only Asian country that has it so.
Amazing.
This sculpture is bigger than most Singaporean homes.
How about you buy one and support the artists?
Just kidding..
One of your pixels has burnt out, and another is missing.
superb....
to much info behind it, title should have said this was about the technical details.
anyone know the music?
Beautiful art and then you have a crazy that destroys it! What is wrong with people that they must ruin things!
I thought this was in Thailand. I've been through both international airports in Thailand and Singapore but can't remember where it was.
Cool!
and even more: What's with the vertical video bit at the end of this otherwise interesting and beautifully filmed and edited piece?
"Dude, we need more of the actual thing"
"Thanks God I got my iPhone"
Pretty sure BMW has one of these with 748 Spheres.
I will take a stop over at this airport rather than a direct flight (if my final destination is not this ato ofc)
similar to BMW that won D/AD or Cannes if not mistaken
The video starts at 3:30.
hi,
i want to buy this for my company , where can i buy?
thanx

This was made by ART+COM AG in Berlin. You probably will find plenty of resources there.
We make sculptures with code
You find one lol
wish i was there to see it:(
You're just jealous that this is true beauty.
"it's like making a movie, except it's not a movie"
It's cool...but really? The video showing the full view is from a cell phone or something handheld? The main video director was to artsy to show the full scale sculpture and just zoomed in on the individual droplets? Le sigh.
Super
Anyone else think it completely unnecessary for there to be subtitles? Sure they have accents (German?) but they probably speak better English than most young English speaking teens.
One of them got stuck
Yes, there should be a law against it... I'm sure there is now in SG! ;-)
1:30 Blender!
It must be very expensive. Only Changi Airport can afford to buy it.
Actually two were
Tape " Waiting Time " on RUclips
the guy at 1:06, was anybody else reminded of Pewdiepie?
people are gonna miss their flights
4minutes of talking, 2 minute of actually showing what it's all about
Automation Backhoff....
That guy reminds me of Jim Carrey. LOL

I'd love to go there and tangle all of them up into my own "Fuck you" sculpture! Tangle tangle tangle
Yup, the idea is totally not unique. I've seen quite a lot similar "kinetic sculptures", just look at the related videos and you can see almost identical installation in BMW museum.
