Making teddy accept spencer back was one of the worst things disney ever did.

Seriously, I honestly wish there would be a show or movie that would just have a couple when they realize that they can’t be together because they fallen in love for someone else, if the other one feels too delusional, with the whole belief of, “I will always love you.”, the latter tells them, “Love someone else.”, just as a way to tell them that it’s over. There would be more dignity in that.

@@baileyostrom2972 , it also makes Teddy a bit of a hypocrite as she claims she couldn’t make a relationship between her and Spencer work due to him being far away, but then does the same exact thing to Beau. And yet the creators still decided to make her and Spencer be together instead of her and Beau. Seriously, I would’ve preferred if she stuck with Beau to the end even when he did moved away, maybe get a glimpse of what his home life is like and they can compare each other on how well either of them have it.

Hey Trina! I've just seen the show in it's entirety this year and from the moment Beau showed up he seemed like a better choice for Teddy than Spencer was. I don't like how he manipulated that first date but he's the better of the two choices. I kinda liked Victor but think he and Teddy are best as friends

The saddest part is that this could’ve been a great lesson for teens who’s partner cheated on them. As this is the only example of this I can think of in Disney Channel. But Spencer did nothing to prove himself as trustworthy to Teddy. The main reason he got her back is because he wouldn’t leave her alone. What’s the lesson there? If you cheat on your partner… stalk them??? Yikes big yikes…
Hannah Montana actually did the lesson right 'cause Miley broke up with Jake after he cheated on her, girl flat out beat him up, bro was never seen again, and she got with Jesse instead-
Disney Channel did a much better job with the cheating thing in Hannah Montana.
Once Jake cheated on Miley/Hannah she dumped him and the show ended with her being with Jesse instead.

I never liked Disney ships because they were just backdrops for me or they just felt flat. Now as an adult, I never understood how the executives approved Mason and Alex, Maddie and Diggie, and Teddy and Spencer. Thank goodness those who grew up with these series just hate them now.

It's wild to me also how Teddy ignores how completely disrespectful to Skylar it is for Spencer to keep calling his relationship to her a huge mistake. I feel like I wouldn't be able to get past the fact that we're now in a position where we have to completely trash and disregard the other girl's very real feelings in order to make it work for us.
Especially when Teddy and Skylar ended up becoming friends or atleast friends-ajcent. To the point Skylar becoming a part of her and Ivys friend group and then later starts dating Teddy's brother PJ. Like, the fact that Teddy got to know Skylar as a person and as a friend, then got back together with the guy that cheated on them both it feels wrong. Then said guys spends his time trying to get back together with you by bad mouthing and saying his rrlation with Skylar was nothing, when he started dating Skylar first before he started dating Teddy as well. It just make the situation so much worse.
I always thought, wait Skylar is here at Teddy's house (at the time when he goes to her house to try and get back together with her), its it possible that he first went to Skylar house to try and get back together with her first them but, because she didn't answer he went to Teddy house. Or what is when Teddy turned him down, would he then go and try going to Skylar house to do the same thing. Like would have been on my mind that whole time.
YEAH I thought the same thing when Caitlin showed the clip of Spencer's apology scene. Like the episode makes it very clear that Skylar is 1) not a bad person and 2) just as much of a victim in this situation as Teddy. If Skylar had seduced Spencer knowing he was taken that would've been one thing, but she had a genuine relationship with him and was completely in the dark about Teddy. Spencer shading her after all he put her through is so goddamn douchey of him, and it sucks that they didn't even acknowledge it when the episode WAS about Skylar and Teddy forming a friendship and relating to each other after the cheating.
I think you guys are nitpicking there. I think he meant his decision to see Skylar was a mistake not that Skylar was a bad person or anything.

Spencer always went for the kiss every chance he got, which kind of rubbed me the wrong way because it has been referenced as a way to get her to “shut up” and it just felt like kissing was a replacement for emotional intimacy. Beau kisses Teddy on the cheek first. And he told the truth about his lie about having made up his excuse to ask her out. Spencer always had to be forced to tell the truth (because he was caught lying).
Especially since their first kiss was "shut up/calm down." I have nothing against this type of kiss, but as first kiss? Big red flag. He didn't even give Teddy a chance to react, to push him away. She was talking and suddenly she was kissed. As if it wasn't their kiss number 1000, that you can accept consent to such a situation. He literally gave her no chance to react...

100%, just like how Dove Cameron and Ryan McCartan were also dating in real life, resulting in Maddie taking Diggie back, even though Josh was so much better.
That's what frustrates me. Work and personal lives can and often should be separate. Disney didn't even want them kissing which has nothing to do with anything in particular but I thought I'd mention that. Hugging is fine but after a certain point it just seems odd in relationships.

One thing I am glad about though is that Disney didn’t use the trope of “girls that were dating a cheater hate each other instead of hating the cheater” bc that’s fairly common and doesn’t make any sense to me. I’m glad they made Teddy and Skyler friends and had them take out their anger on the person who deserves it.
Disney LA kinda use that trope in Soy Luna. Matteo cheated on Ambar with Luna (nothing serious ever happened just because Luna always rejected him and reminded him that he had a girlfriend). It was Luna who was blamed by Ambar for the growing romance. A guy who was literally constantly flirting with another girl, asking her out, chasing after her was never held accountable. It was always and only Luna who had problems because Matteo falling in love with her and being with Ambar at the same time...
@@aleksandrakeska2290 Writing Ambar as such a character makes Matteo seem like a better person and determines Ambar as the real bad. This is actually very bad, but I think most of us (including me) didn't care about it while watching the series.
Spencer was the guy who couldn't take no for an answer and was visibly upset when things didn't go his way! He basically took advantage of Teddy.
If this was a more adult show, things would've been a lot worse, I can only imagine what ways he would've gone about taking advantage of her if this Had been on another network, maybe even going so far as to get her pregnant in order to trap her, he did a lot of questionable things but luckily he wasn't that bad.
And he could never get over his ex then get mad when they move on.
I think my favorite episodes are the ones where she and Skyler are united in what a douchenozzle Spencer is. Also ironic that even for how dumb Skyler is, she ended up handling things a lot better by moving on and being totally over Spencer once she started dating PJ (for some reason I also liked them as a couple)
@@bigbearkat2010 Oh I thought Skyler and PJ were perfect for each other! I was devastated when Skyler and PJ broke up in late season two because they were so cute together. Thankfully, they got back together in season four.

i HATED that spencer would just conveniently be EVERYWHERE. the skii trip, battle of the bands, super adventure land, the "abercrombie" store, etc etc. just shoving him in our faces (and Teddy's). i remember being so pissed off all throughout season 2 😭
Same! And he was always so passive-aggressive with her!! His character was so awful. I swear whenever teddy was happy he would always something like “okay let’s not do that” and then he would give her a fake smile, like GIRL your man is literally bullying you and acting like he’s better. Idk why Disney kept shoving this man onto Teddy not only because he was a manipulative cheater; he was just genuinely a terrible boyfriend. I really don’t know what Teddy saw in him😂 I wish the writers didn’t salvage his character. Teddy deserved a better man.
Also it’s sad that I know ppl IRL just like Teddy. Those girls/boys always feel like they did something wrong and try to give their all to save the relationship but it usually doesn’t change. Their partner remains cheating on them and they feel like a fool. And on Teddy’s case, Spencer did “change”(sorta, he was still terrible) he didn’t cheat on her again after they got back together. But there is still that fleeting thought when ppl get back with cheaters “will they cheat on me again?” Or “did I make the wrong choice?” The relationship is already broken. It’s just really sad that the victims of a cheating relationship have to deal with the constant dread. I know how it feels to be cheated on, not a pleasant feeling😂. All right I’m done with my crazy rant about about a tv show but srsly, Disney. Why do you glorify cheaters???😒🫠🫠

Spencer is a horrible person and Teddy was dumb for giving him a second chance. If someone cheats on you, break up imediately! Don't even try to be friends with someone like that because they'll just manipulate you which is what Spencer did.

I remember our first kiss, my first Valentine's gift to him, and the first time we tried making out. I guess I hadn't really thought about how much you can remember when you're really in love

And then when she tried to reconfirm her feelings for Emmett by trying to practice kissing, Emmett CHICKENED OUT which is quite OOC for him since he definitely dreams about being with her as he has a crush on her since childhood. And then he quits his job as the Frog and SPENCER gets the job instead like what kind of ending of an episode was that

@@alexiscando2068 No. Teddy was trying to use Emmett for her own personal gain. She made it clear that she was hoping that the kiss wouldn't mean anything and she can go back to living her life after they kissed. I'm happy she ends up being the one rejected.

Heck, Emmett could have been better than Spencer as well... I mean, they knew each other since childhood and he had a crush on Teddie since they were a child... There was also an episode where Emmett and Teddie worked together in the Amusement Park and Emmett was the one who helped Teddie get that job... There was also play that their characters was suppose to kiss so Teddie dreamed about Emmett and her kissing and she actually loves it in her dream... Then, she tried to reconfirmed it when she tried practice kissing on him but Emmett chickened out(Out of character for him because he always dreamed off that scenario to happen) and then quit the job afterwards... And guess what, SPENCER took the job instead like COMMON NOW... They set that whole episode of Teddie might have feelings for Emmett to just throwing that away for SPENCER at the end of that episode like what the hell

To be clear I'm not saying what jake did was right but that if I had to pick one that would end in hating the guys guts the way miley and he friends and family do and one that ended with her forgiving him and taking him back I wouldn't have picked the one where his two steady girlfriends at the same time became friends by bonding over how badly he hurt them.

Thank you. when Spencer cheats on Teddy and then Teddy finds the girl he was cheating on her with, and then they connect, and they make a whole song together about how he sucks that is one of my favorite things in good luck Charlie, like they literally made a song calling him a pig. it was so direct. That was amazing to me. She should’ve stayed with beu and continue to have a happy, healthy relationship instead of going back to the pig.
I know, whenever I hear anything to do with that song or even just think back to watching it it comes straight back into my head. I know she decided not to post the video in the end, but looking back I think she actually should've. It would've been a nice thing for her to look back on in the future as a good reminder of why she shouldn't get back together with him.
Then again this is a Disney Channel show so who knows. It would just be nice to see a better Depiction of relationships in my opinion, since we don't get a lot of those, which is a real problem and a real shame for young children and teenagers watching.
And that battle of the bands episode too. They get one over on him by not only beating him but Skyler moves on to PJ and because she's so much happier with him, she just seemed kind of over the Spencer drama in general.

@@Missmagazinebura Chuck and Trish are actually a problematic ship for a variety of reasons. Chuck literally sexually harassed Trish and treats her like a piece of property. I absolutely adore Austin and Ally, but Chuck and Trish are so uncomfortable for me to watch because of Chuck. He is way too aggressive and creepy with her.
If Austin and Ally weren’t a Disney Channel sitcom, Chuck would have more than likely drugged her/gotten her drunk, waited until she was passed out, and then he would have straight up *RAPED* her. He’s disgusting.

I think the reason why Teddy always takes Spencer back is because she always hears how her parents are high school sweethearts, which comes off as the perfect love story that she wants. One thing I noticed about Spencer is how emotionally dependent he is on Teddy. Spencer constantly emotionally manipulates her as he tells her what to feel and is always expecting an answer on whether they can date again, which is disgusting, in my opinion. Also, I'm not too fond of Spencer's speech in the episode after he cheated on Teddy because we don't know if Spencer said the same thing to Skylar or any other girl Spencer might have seen while dating Teddy. If I were in this situation, I would've never talked to him again and told him to leave me alone because he was disrespectful. My parents taught me to have value in myself, and if someone broke my heart the way Spencer did, then they were not worth my time; something similar happened to my mother with her first boyfriend, which ended up with the other girl getting pregnant and tried to get her back but was firm and told him to back off. Especially with everyone in Teddy's life, don't make it a secret their dislike of him; while I understand it is Teddy's life, and she can make a choice, it would've been nice for Teddy to consider their advice before getting back together. I am still hoping one day, Disney will give us a healthy relationship; I mean, we can still have some drama for entertainment, but it would be nice to see a couple in a healthy relationship for the younger audience to see and understand what an excellent relationship looks like, but who knows in the end.
That seemed to be the whole appeal to their relationship actually. Like watching this video and looking back on how their relationship was handled, before the cheating...it was all based around the fact that they just liked each other. That's it. Their history isn't really delved into, they don't either have a lot in common or balance each other in personalities. They're put together just 'cause. It's wild how the show pushes so much for a ship that even without the cheating would've just been mid.

Yeah, this ship was pretty much garbage but this whole video just reminded me how good the show actually was overall - I want to rewatch it now, honestly. The acting is there, and there are some pretty great emotional moments, as well as some downright hilarious moments.
I remember being so sad every time I watched PJ and Skylar's breakup episode, like those two had so little screentime but their relationship was written so well that I cared about it to a great extent, and I was so happy about them getting back together later on. Also, PJ is the best boyfriend in the show, I said it - they really gave him a love so much more worth caring about (on his end) than Spencer was worth Teddy's care, and all his moments where he shows his love for Skylar are just so sweet.
One thing I am actually upset about, and probably the only one lol, is Ivy and Raymond having their breakup offscreen, cause I honestly find them so cute, too. Oh, well.

While I do think they had a lot of chemistry, they had so much unnecessary conflict. They go on ONE date and decide that it’s too awkward and it’s better if they are just friends. But they’re both constantly being pretty toxic when it comes to the other being in a relationship. They should have tried a bit longer, or just talked about how being a couple doesn’t mean they have to suddenly change how they interact with each other. And, honestly, the last episode was also so bad. They just broke up because of conflicting schedules and proceeded to ghost each other for like two years because they couldn’t even talk about it properly. Yeah, not the healthiest relationship

I hate this storyline because they could've sent out such a good message to kids about learning to move on after someone hurts you and comforting your feeling on how that made you feel but instead they it feels like she forgets she got cheated on so quickly. They could've done so much to show what it was like for someone to heal after getting cheated on but it seems like Teddy didn't even really care. Like you don't have to forgive someone, you don't owe it to them, especially when they something like that to you!

With as much fighting as the siblings do in the series (not knocking it, it’s realistic) it’s great when they show how much they care about one another. PJ is such a good big brother, and honestly, I can’t think of anyone else that could have had an impact on Teddy in that moment like he could.

The thing that upsets me the most is that they ended Teddy and Beau's storyline by making him act completely out of character. The whole thing about him being too much into bug stuff and too much like her dad is so forced especially because during their date he had said to her that he likes her dad but he really tells too much bug story. Also, when Beau was first introduced it was said that the reason he took the job was so that he could pay for his education, hinting at bigger goals he had, him going back home to work as an exterminator as if this was what he had always wanted is just completely out of the blue because it goes against everything that was established when we were first introduced to the character. They ruined Beau's character in order to give the idea that he "clearly" wasn't right for Teddy and that is - from a technical perspective - poor storytelling and bad writing

But she did not do this and i like how supportive they are with each other which subverts the trope of the two girls being mean and competitive towards each other. It is women supporting women.

I was so confused that for years I contributed it to me being ace and not understanding how attraction works for other people but then I talked with my friends and they said "Yeah no that was stupid"

When I would watch these shows, I always thought the "one month anniversary" or "10 monthaversary" were genuine things that kept a relationship together. However, being in a near 10 month relationship now it's kind of confusing. To be fair, I am an adult now. But when me and my partner realize how long we've been together we're just like "Really? Huh. Cool."
The conversation Teddy has with her mother was SO good. It made such an impact on me. That wasn't an actress, that was a mom.
Teddy & Beau were perfect and it's a travesty that they weren't endgame. I have a feeling that she only ended up with Spencer because the actors were dating in real life. I always felt that that kind of thing was an excuse for trash writing, and more often than not, leads to poor performances; real life couples rarely have any chemistry when they're playing characters.

The one thing about Beau leaving that I am okay with is I'm glad they didn't make her just follow her parents. This may have been the one time it would have worked, but with Modern Family ruined and Wizards almost, I'm kinda glad this show didn't also go that route.
also what's creepy to me is that Spencer tells Teddy he CAME TO SEE HER at Ski resort. He told her he came to talk to her which sounds like goddamn stalking to me. or even if he was there first/too he purposfully came to talk to her a couple of times. It might sound paranoid but at that moment I'd start to wonder if HE isn't behind the psychic lady. Or at least if he didn't overhear her 'prediction' and decided to 'radnomly' run into me to make it seem like fate.

Even as a kid, my response to them getting back together at the end was "wait... they are getting back together? I though he cheated on her." If a child could see something wrong with that I feel the Executives should have been able to see what was wrong with that.
