3 things to do in Dhul Hijjah. 1. Sincere repentance to Allah (Tawbah) 2. the decision to benefit from these ten days (exerting every efforts to do all righteous actions that one is capable of) 3. staying away from the acts of disobedience
Virtues of these 10 days: 1. Allah swore by these 10 days - Allah only swears by that which is great 2. Our religion was completed in these 10 days (on the day of Arafa specifically) 3. The rewards of good deeds done are multiplied 4. Allah mentioned the people who benefits for themselves and mention the name of Allāh on these known [i.e., specific] days [Surah Hajj (22): verse 28] 5. The prophet ﷺ testified that these are the best days of a persons life 6. The day of Arafa is in these days this day itself: i. known as the day of hajj-al akbar / day of forgiveness of sins. ii. If one fasts then they are forgiven for the past sins and the future sins iii. People are freed from the hellfire. iv. chances of dua's being accepted are very high v. best thing to say on this day is "La ilaha illallahu, wahdahu la sharika lahu, lahulmulku wa lahulhamdu, wa Huwa 'ala kulli sha'in Qadir" 7. The day of Nahr is in these days - the day of Eid Al Adha 8. The greatest acts of obedience are gathered - prayer, fasting, sadaqah, Hajj
Best actions 1. At tawba 2. As Salah 3. 25:57 Al Hajj and Al Umrah 4. 26:35 As Siam if not any day, atleast on the day of Arafa 5. 28:49 At takbir, At tasleem, (There is the restricted amd the unrestricted one) 6. 35:13 Righteous Action (Sadaqah, Quran, Calling relatives, Advicing people, Bringing peace between people, picking harm from road, giving to family etc) 7. 38:46 Slaughtering

I have a question about the hadith that ustadh mentioned that if someone fasts on the day of Arafah then his past and future sins are forgiven. Then why should one worry about commiting sins after fasting on Arafah day (other than major shirk)?????
An indication that a person is forgiven is that they sin lesser than they used to. No one is guaranteed that privilege. Only Allaah knows who have been forgiven.
