Great game, I like Gionis style. It's very entertaining to watch, and though he's not particulary fast, he's often positioned in the right place because he's reading the game so well.
Fabulous match! One of the best I've seen in years. It was such a close match for 3 sets and Panagiotis surprised me with his offensive skills. I did not remember a match of his in which he attacked as much. The last 2 sets though were a total demolition from Dima, purely overpowered the Greek. Amazing match!
Ovtcharov's fitness really pays off here! Gionis seemed tired in the end. Dima changed his brute force approach from the first set to a slightly more varied strategy by the end. He mixed in some slightly slower balls and made his placement variation more and more extreme. It appears to me that his full force missiles went to Gionis' middle much more often by the end. Gionis played an incredible game here. He comes out on top of some of these forehand to forehand exchanged against an all attack player like Dima. Super impressive stuff and very fun to watch! The handshake and hug in the end seemed very familiar. Do these guys know each other well?
Fantastic match from both. Gionis really made Ovtcharov working hard every point. And I must say a real manly handshake at the end compared to the usual weak hand slap from the Asian players.
This is first recorded match when Gionis use his backhand for attack more than 3 times. Every defender know how difficult use pip's side for attack is. Bravo!
Listening to dima play really tells you a lot about timing, you can learn a lot from his vocalization, how long he winds up, when he contacts the ball, you know exactly what he is doing based on his voice. Very interesting and good for learning your own strokes
I like how offensive players figure out the pace and feel of a defender's rally. First few sets looked hard to navigate the spin, last set not so much.
This is yet another example that shows that extreme defense style does not pay off. So satisfying to see how offenssive qualitative play simply destroys choppers. Please note that I'm not saying that a defensive style is utterly undesirable it's just a matter of taste.
Perfect camera angle, and video editing. Thanks a lot
It's nice to see a handshake like this in sports that shows respect for your opponent!

It seems to me Dima was hitting way harder than he was in the beginning, Yes they know each other well.
They are good friends
@@reinaldopessoa2603 agree, I was gonna say he was trying to finish his points as soon as possible with powerful topspins
@@DimaKats2 i think because they're friends he definitely wasn't trying to destroy him in the beginning but definitely turned it up.

That sounds racist
@@welchsshinemuscat it's because it is buddy, good call :)
@@welchsshinemuscat Nah!
In Asia it's not a custom to shake someone's hand, not even when you meet someone new. It's a cultural difference... Saying this is just ignorant
@@jaccolin8678 yeah a bow seems much more respectful to me, or simply smiling and being happy for their win
This match was dope with a lot of rallies! That’s the beauty of a game between a chopper and an attacker.
Fantastic angle!Showed how players hit the ball, how the ball flys, how the spin it is. This shooting angle should be promoted!
Unbelievable what Gionis chopps back 🤯increcible

Ele vira o lado alguma vezes.
You are right. It seems that he works hard on it. I'm Greek and I know well his style
good match. Gionis is a master at chopping/cutting style however dimitrij always smash the ball 😁
Great play of Gionis the first 5 sets
Awesome match between offensive and defensive game style ..Gionis almost convince me to become a chopper.

Team European Championship 2013, has it really been that long? Both players are great players in their own way, with great sportsmanship,, thx

Duas lendas!
intense match
Kaka?
Gionis Legend🇬🇷🇬🇷
Best camera angle
Great match 👍👍👍
I'm with Vincent, you gotta work for it with this guy!
Ovcharov bardzo dobra forma 🏓🏓
Calm Gionis is still dangerous
Noice. They both know that it’s a good match
13:34 Shot was so hard, he shifted the camera angle 😭
Could anyone tell me that what the stop watch mark beside their names is?
The player has used time-out

The camera man… must be really tired…. After so much effort…
I think you must be really patient to watch this video

First time seeing dimitri use pendulum serve. May be the effects of trainings in china?
I think it's the effect of Harimoto. He had absolutely no issue with receiving Dima's serves and Dima had no answer.

Looked to me much more appealing that watching two attackers play. IMHO. With the change of balls the chopping stile almost disappeared, what a pity!
That moaning should be banned
Lmao 🤣
