I appreciate the intent of the video, but it could have been about half of the time, except several statements and demonstrations were shown multiple times. For example there was no need to show HDG bolts and nuts twice. In the end, it still leaves me wondering when I should use HDG vs stainless or zinc. Again, I do appreciate the effort, and please accept my comments, not as harsh criticism, but hopefully helpful comments for future videos. Thanks!

I bought hot dipped galvanized L bolts as a kit with nuts and washers, and they don't fit like what you are showing.

Thank you for an informative video! Do HDG bolts come in the different steel grades? For example, can I get grade 5 HDG bolts?

I discovered this the hard way when I bought a HDG lag bolt and a regular wing nut. I had to run the bolt through a die to get it to the proper size.

Dear Sir, we also do HDG in my country and the nuts already overtapped larger. But after HDG still have many galvanised inside thread of nut then nut can not go in bolt. Athough we dip and spin... Do you have any idea to advise me to solve this problem ? Thank you very much in advance !

As Paul Hott said previously, this could have been half the length and should have included when to use which material. For example, hot-dipped galvanized is not suitable for redwood if used outside, but is all right if used inside. HDG is also not suitable in any situation with pressure-treated lumber (at least I don't think so), only stainless is suitable. Besides, the cost of fasteners for most outside projects is a small part of the cost of a project, so why not only use stainless and reduce the risk of fastener failure down the road and avoid rust stains?
