Artillery is powerful as hell in this game, especially if you upgrade it
I looooove me some artillery so I had a go with the Dwarf Engineer and an All-Artillery run and surprisingly this deranged skew list actually worked! It did come down to hand-to-hand a few times, but the Engineer's retinue of crossbows had just enough melee punch to get through.
@@vegladex i had an army that had only two artillery pieces in it, I felt like a God, until they got into melee and barely survived
did a run with 6 goblin bolt throwers and it worked.
I'm glad to see you post another episode of this game. Was really worried it would just be a one-off! I would love to see more.

I've been playing it since the last episode too. I've been doing dwarves. My tactics generally end up giving a band of 25+ legally distinct Ironbreakers/Longbeards some handguns and watch them slowly march up the field, shooting targets and tanking with their 2+ save.
This one and pegglin are top tier tom videos to watch and chill.

Spears are dangerous when deep.
Normally the 2nd row get's to do a single support attack (ignoring the normal attacks).
When not charging, spears in the 2nd and 3rd row get to make a single support attack. So a 3-4 deep Spearmen is quite dangerous.

Picked this up after you last posted a vid, and holy crap I'm *hooked* on this thing! Wizard characters are kinda awkward, but big bashy melee characters are a LOT of fun! I've got to say, though, having a few arty pieces is absolutely *vital* for dealing with the BIG enemies - I've wiped out the final boss in a single burst of attacks from one arty unit with Lethal Shots, like the Bolt Thrower or a Cannon. Please do more!
To be fair, wizards are pretty awkward on the tabletop as well.
Warhammer(or a legally distinct totally unique homage) is pretty brutally "nope" when it comes to casting in general.
It really feels like their job is to wait around to blow their 1-2 big spells to slightly weight that single-turn swing victory in your favor.
It's less D&D "I killed them all with a fireball" and more "I made them doubt themselves so my 40 stabby boys could kill 70% of them instead of 45%, so they routed and we could wipe them out later in the chase."
We need some good old fashioned Tom ballista
I started as human mage, but built hard into imperial artillery, the cannon and some rifles were enough ranged to see me through to the end, so long as my foot-knights could keep their models up.
I did notice that the imperial cannon is perfect for artillery sniping, it beat off an entire dwarven arty regiment, one shot at a time

Downloading this game right now, this was a cool playthrough. And they have "Legally distinct aztec lizards" as a DLC, I think I can part with a fiver for that!

I got this game after your last video, and went back to watch the stream VOD that I missed of you and Bon playing it! I would still love to see more, especially of the different races/factions. I do think the game needs a little bit of... variety, maybe? After about 8 hours of playing, which I enjoyed immensely, I found myself wanting more out of it, more detail or more flashy effects, though that may just be my love of the Total War: Warhammer games coming through!
I love the playthrough. I downloaded the game last night and it’s been kicking my ass! So much fun though, I hope they keep it up and release more content for the game

Props to the devs for making giants faithful to the table top where they are kinda shit and can get shot off the board easily.
I feel like the Warhammer systems in general always feel like they are their to ruin your fun (in a good way).
The FUN decision is to grab the guy who can throw fireballs with his mind.
The SMART decision is to grab another unit of spears to flank with.
Giants are impressive, but 40 dudes throwing rocks are CHEAPER.

Oh fantastic to see the rest of this game :D it is super fun. I do hope we do get to see even more in the future, perhaps another faction? But understandable if not as you do have to pay for them, and Rats are the Kings of the Realm XD

But holy crap I just ran across the most "Tom" game I've ever seen. I can't speak for the gameplay. But the aesthetic seems perfect for Tom.
It's called Three Goblin Wobblin'. A game about 3 goblins who use the classic trench-coat stack to infiltrate human society in an attempt to try the "Beer" stuff they have heard about.

flamecannon has such low range that its basically chargable by anything it wants to shoot, i can see it maybe getting one shot off before being charged, current game mechanics just dont really support something like that

What would be the interest of paying artists to draw copies of legally distinct units
if it were an original idea id follow but those rat ogr.. i mean rat alphas dont really need to be reinvented we already know what they should look like
??? that doesn't mean anything, they should have paid actual artists instead of using something which has been proven time and time again to be skimming and stealing from those same artists, using ai in *anything* immediately shows that you don't care enough to put actual effort and work into making something good and devalues whatever youre working on
