I can see why Tom would like this game. Each turn you roll a billion dice
This game was effectively made for the Yogs.
It's got dice for Tom. It has kingdoms for the armchair admirals/civilization crew. It defaults to 30 second simultaneous turns for Lewis. It has rage-inducing disaster RNG for Duncan. It's a single city for Rythian. Each multiplayer match is also about an hour long so they could perfectly fit 3 rounds into their stream.
We _need_ some Yogs vs Yogs à la TABS on this one!
A few things for people who bought this after watching, the right side of the Skull-o-meter only affects other islands, you don't need multiple archery places just having one means you can make archers, and when you and others are attacking the same island your troops will fight each other meaning you are attacking fewer buildings, I love this game my favorite way to play is to cause as many tidal waves and cultist conversion as I can and make the other islands just fall to chaos

I think the dice aspect is… a little bit hidden, as important as it is, it’s just an alternative randomiser, rather than a feature of the game.

This is almost the exact same thing as the board game Era: Medieval Age! It’s great as a board game too right up Tom’s alley!

Of all the board games I expected to see inspire a video game I didn't expect Era: Medieval Age to be one.
This game seems tailor made for Tom's channel. Just gotta throw in a cider brewery.

Only the first Meteor can't hit the castle. I think the castle is the one building that can't be repaired.

OOOOOOO City Builder AND Dice :D, well well well, count me in here XD. Not what I expected when I read the title of the video, but am still super pleased with the result :D really fun indeed. plus, I do also always enjoy when City Builders add this defence/VS addition :D, might I say this one does it very nicely. I do wonder if it is multiplayer and if we will get to see that :D, new Civ Streams he he he
I do also like the aspects of the Skull Punishments, not to mention how some effect your physical land. What an anticlimactic end though XD ha ha ha, I also didn't think the meteor could hit the main base, but I suppose it can, or they ran out of spaces for it to go.
This game has that perfect "something" that makes both instantly satisfying to watch & makes me immediately want to go play it now. Moreplz.

Tom if your gonna have Rerolls please use them. Those unused reroles when you got dice full of skulls hurt me
Tom doesn't do a great job of explaining, but I think the skulls accumulate even if you re-roll them, not like how the resources work.
I get triggered when he doesn't reroll die that overflow resource caps.
And yeah, you can't reroll skulls
