I’m SOO GLAD I came across your channel here. !! I never realized til the lockdown how many tutorials there are on you tube n who knows where else… I started a sock pattern n this stitch was put in directions to start my heel .. never did this stitch before n it’s tge one where you put into the back of the loop .. you did such an awesome job of showing us AND explaining it in such a quick amount of time. !!! You get an Oscar !!!! Thank you again !!!
This is a great video! Very easy to follow! I have a question and I really hope it doesn't sound dumb lol. Is this also referred to as a way to increase or add a stitch? I'm just asking because I learned another way to increase that's different. Sorry if this sounds daft but I am really curious :)
If your pattern doesn't specify, you're free to choose. This is the basic equivalent of the M1 Right, M1 Left technique but focused on purl stitches. In some knitting patterns, an increase will only be shown as "M1" in which case it's dealers choice! Same goes with M1P - if the pattern doesn't tell you want to do, it's your pick - hope this clears the air - and happy knitting!
Best tutorials are from Purl!

Not 'daft' at all! You're right - this is a method of increase! There are many ways to increase stitches - this is one of many!
Fantastic
It says m1p THE END. Doesn't say anything about which way it's slanting at all.
