It’s quite clear Nigel has never competed in any sport seriously. I’m a biological female (XX chromosomes 😉) and a swimmer. Swimmers who have been through male puberty have an 11% advantage over me. It’s clear when you’re in the pool the advantage they have. At least in water, our safety and lives aren’t at risk. The thought of competing against someone who is XY in a contact sport fills me with horror 😮. The Italian boxer showed such grit even stepping into the ring, what incredible courage…. And lasting 46 seconds and taking 2 very powerful punches is amazing, hats off to her. However I’m getting very tired of this debate now. Please protect female competitors, whatever the sport. 🙏
What about females who transition to males? Are they okay to compete in women's sports?
@@trwent it’s a question of fairness. I believe in sport for all. But I don’t believe in athletes/competitors who have an unfair advantage, or their involvement creates a potential for injury competing against biological women. With regard to your question it would be a matter for the individual sports governing body to establish whether an advantage was present or not. If the transitioning athlete has not gone through male puberty and their testosterone levels were within the required levels , I don’t see why not. But I will tell you one thing, I’m not aware of any female who has transitioned to male who has competed at an elite level with biological males….there’s a reason for that! I don’t think I need to state the obvious 🥴
What about the 8 women who defeated the Algerian boxer? If 8 women have beaten her that shows the Italian who gave up.

There are tons of things that cancel out someone's ability to compete in sports at high levels, height, age and disability are easy examples and people have no choice in those things, trans people made their choice it's not the world's job to bend to their choice. I have a blood clotting disorder and grew up heavily involved in combat sports, but I have never been able to compete regardless.of how good I was because of the risks my disorder creates, so I cannot choose for myself, it's forced on me. Trans people, especially in combat sports are choosing to do what they do and the risk is not even theirs, it's the opponents who have to risk something by competing, it's insane. Choices have consequences and trans people need to learn this if they want to be accepted by the majority.
Making someone "officially" a woman does not actually make them a woman... STOP LYING!!!

A woman is made to bear babies: she has menstruation, all parts of her body are smooth and soft, her muscles are less dense. All of these make her less energetic than a man. So all sport demanding physical strength must have the same physical features! It would be different if you compete with the chess game! So please don't mix up mental, emotional with physical competition!
It’s so simple. Just base it on the chromosomes. XY is male and XX is female. And that is how they will compete in sports. Live how they want, dress like they want , call themselves what they want. But in sports they compete in the category that matches their chromosomes

Please put it in plain language, an XY chromosome is the genetic make-up of a biological male, therefore, a deformity of his genitalia does not make Imane a woman. Intersex persons are biologically either male or female, something which the physical development and features of a person confirms at puberty; therefore, Imane must compete against other men or alternatively seek the required medical intervention to align his hormonal levels to those of his preferred sex. If not, then he should refrain from sports all together, seeing that it is not uncommon for persons with certain abnormalities to forfeit participation in certain activities. More so, seeing that hormone treatment would not alter his larger male lungs, heart, muscle mass and bone length and density.☝ And yes, his participation in sports is motivated by the unfair advantage, after all Caster Semenya became a millionaire through the same kind of glaring cheating,🙄

The tests were done by an independent lab. The results have been seen and verified by others. There is no murkiness about this. It could be cleared up easily by being retested. Mysteriously the boxers have declined to do so.

The Algerians arm span was almost twice the two women opponents. I have to give credit for Luca she really tried to stand her ground, but her opponent went straight for her face and with his long arm span she could not reach her opponent. It was painful to watch her take several very heavy face punches, but she got a bigger ovation when declared the loser.

I was in a discussion at work with a progressive about the Algerian boxer and i said that he had more testosterone than the female boxer , along with his XY chromosomes and therefore , that gave him a bigger advantage because he had faster reflexes ,had more muscle mass, more bone density and could punch at least 5 times harder per square inch than a biological woman . His response was i dont want to have that type of discussion

yeah but SEMENYA had to decrease her testosterone levels DOWN to 10 nmol/l's DOWN to 10 and she reckons it almost killed her, you know the average of a womens Testosterone? 0-1.80 nmol/l and an athlete maybe 2-5 nmo/l. so if someone had 10 - 20 (thats getting into young 21yr old male levels) performing as a female that is basically like taking steroids. So the answer would be to ALLOW other women to RAISE their testosterone to match it then.

Later this year you can become a male/female in germany by saying you are one or the other without any testing or whatever and you are leagaly the gender you pick. If these people were raised as female but they actually experienced a male puberty and all the corresponding physical advantages fuelled by testosterone, regardless of their passport or how they identify or what their family calls them, they are male. I have nothing against these individuals; sport is either fair or it isn't.

There doesn't have to be physical contact between competitors for men to have the advantage. Upper body strength is part of the DNA of being male. Swimming, gymnastics, track & field events, archery - to name a few - are all areas where males competing with women would have an advantage.
