    I'm almost 30 years old now… and I remember a long ass time ago when I was in high school my buddies and I went to the Carlsbad skate park (which sucks btw), and we see Tony and Riley Hawk. Riley was so small his knee pads almost covered his whole leg. There's one rail there that starts at the top of a bowl and goes all the way down (biggest rail there), and tony sets the board 50-50 style on the rail while Riley climbs up him and stands on the board. Then Tony gives Riley a little nudge and he 50-50's all the way down and he lands it. The rail had to have been taller than Riley at the time, and probably 10-12' long… I racked myself on the rail a few week earlier doing a front board on it so I was a little scared to even get on it. but it was pretty damn cool to see little Riley cruise down the rail. I remember thinking, "When I'm a dad I want to be like that…"

      It goes to the flat of a "bowl" which is actually more of a series of banks. But the rail is steep as fuck and sketchy.

    I'd not seen much Riley footage before seeing this part and kind of wondered how much his dads legacy had to do with all his coverage and hype. This completely blew away any doubts I had. He absolutely shreds. Amazing!

  • @theeeves
    @theeeves 9 лет назад +18

    There is no doubt that he is up there with the best right now, he kills gaps, rails, stairs, transitions, and from what I saw in that part a good amount of tech. Holy fuck did he ever slay that triangle feature though. Insane.

    OMFG!!! Words can't express how much this video has inspired me. Aside from being part of the most royal bloodline in skateboarding...Riley!!!!! Bro!!!!! holy fucking shit dude you're killing it and then some and then some etc etc.....WOW!!! Your style is so street that the purity makes me feel dizzy!! Real talk this is undoubtedly the best skate part of 2015!!! Beyond eternal respect from the skate gang!!! I think we may have possibly the next icon of a generation on our hands here!! FFS 90% of this video made my ass cheeks clinch and my manhood shrink out of pure fear of imagining myself trying these same tricks! I'm humbled by this part, I'm inspired by this part, I'm down right reborn watching this because my definition of SICK just changed! Bravo man on setting a new standard! Holy shit I'm gonna watch this a few more times. Much love and respect!

    As a beginner skateboarder, I learned to drop in a few days ago. It was on a mini half pipe but I felt accomplished lol. Watching Riley and Tony makes me think, they were once in my shoes before, being completely new, but basically you build your arsenal of tricks after the basics and that’s exactly what they did. Riley, Tony you both are my heroes and never stop skating!

    I hate how they always put Tony in right before his video parts. Nothing against Tony at all, but even if he wasn't Riley's dad, Riley would definitely still be pro. I think the fact that Tony is his dad even holds him back because people might think "oh it's just cuz his Dad is Tony Hawk." Like no he rips harder than most pros today

      gh. urr Again, just because your dad says it doesn't mean it's true. My dad thinks I'm good at basketball and I have literally no talent. I feel like an outsider looking in needs to say it to really give a proper "review" because just about every dad thinks their kid is the greatest

    Man, I really wanted to see that fs bunt at 4:07 from the second angle... it looked like they were about to show it then it cut to the fs hurricane and then showed that second angle, then his last trick was just a 50 down a curved rail? I think that fs blunt was the most impressive tbh and should have been last, that gap was pretty decent and that trick takes 100% commitment, not to mention the ledge was on a 45 degree incline. Really hope theres a video from that second angle floating around somewhere.
