Wonderful video David! I enjoyed meeting you out on the trail during this trip. There's something magical about the photo you captured at 3.25. The beautiful tree colors set against the cool rock, and the subtle colors from the sagebrush make for a wonderful composition. Looking forward to your next video.
Thanks so much for the kind words Judd. It's much appreciated. I don't think I'll ever be able to make a ton of videos but there will be more. Refresh my memory...where did we bump into each other?
Just got back a couple of weeks ago from my annual Eastern Sierra trip. It never gets old !!! I enjoyed the drone footage from Conway Summit, never disappoints.
Thank you David. One of if not my favorite places in CA. I've been going up there alone and with my family for at least 35 years. In past years, before I caught the photography bug, it was for the fishing. W. Walker river, Robinsons Creek. and Green Creek. Your images just pull at my heart strings. At 73, and a bit wobbly, I'm not fishing anymore. (rock hopping the streams is out of the question ) but I was ready to go out in the garage and grab my waders and fly rods and head out this morning. 🙂. If you ever get a little farther north in the fall, look into Green Creek. Beautiful! A few miles of washboard to get up to the creek, but well worth it. It's in a glacier carved valley, and the river wanders back and forth across the valley. Even a large stretch where beavers have dammed the creek and spread it out across the valley. Lots of aspen included! Speaking of the June Lake loop, I have a 36" panorama of aspen in full color I shot at Silver Lake, hanging on my Family room wall. never gets old!. So, thanks again!
Wow, thank you James for such a thoughtful comment. Trust me, I know I'm not the only one that loves this little corner of the world. I myself have done some fishing in the Walker and along the Owens but not enough. It's always been a little bit of a regret that I haven't done more. It's funny you mention a panorama of Silver Lake because just yesterday I was thinking to myself...why on earth didn't I didn't try doing a pano. Ok, I'm off to a map to look up Green Creek. Sounds wonderful!
I don’t have time now (need to wait for retirement), but as dramatic as it may seem, I dream of wasting lots of time just walking around/through aspen groves at peak color in autumn on a cool crisp sunny day. It sounds like such peace.
🎉David Reminds me of my trip in 2014 to New England for fall foliage. You captured beautiful colors on the trees and your drone pictures were great makes me want to get a drone
I would love to do a fall trip to New England. The drone is great in some areas but it also sits on a shelf for months at a time. Thanks for giving a watch.
Thanks very much for taking us to this very fascinating part of the Golden State this time of the year. We found your videography really outstanding among an ocean of similar videos on landscape photography in RUclips.
@@DavidSafanda It's been 24 years since I've been up there but they used to stock brooder trout in the lakes and streams that weighed up to 4 or 5 lbs everyone wanted to get one It was a lot of fun my grownup kids still have great memories of our Sierra trips
I don't think you'll be disappointed. Timing peak color can be tricky as it's a bit different every year but there's always something to shoot. Thanks for giving a watch.
Isn't that sound great. I think I read somewhere that all aspens in North America are called Quaking Aspen, named because of that light tremor they make
@@DavidSafanda Yes it is. Found a stand of aspen north of the town I lived in when I was out fishing one fall. The sound of the wind in the leaves, the smell and feel of impending snow in the air. It's something I'll never forget. The eastern Sierra is a sensory paradise. Thanks for sharing.
Had to come back and watch this again. Your photography is high form art, and your videography is so friggin impressive. It's fun watching someone be so good at something!
Agreed! Lundy is one of my fav little areas. I actually did spend a bit of time shooting up by the beaver ponds on this trip but unfortunately I was a little late and it was past peak.
Very well edited video David! Interesting with the drone shots added, and the beauty of the location, made for an inspiring video. It reminded me much of myself, having done similar walks/hikes looking for images, whether it being closer to home here in western Canada, or hiking through the deserts of Arizona, when the desert flowers are blooming. Unfortunately I've yet to get out this year, as it's one thing or another that has held me back, so it may be once the snow flies this year.
Thanks so much for the kind words. I'm envious of your time in the Arizona desert. I love that type environment but have not had the chance to explore AZ. btw. I know how it goes sometimes. Life gets in the way and it just seems like to much of a struggle to get out.
Due to work/life/surgery I missed my fall trip to the Sierra this year, looks like you had great conditions. Thanks for taking me along with you through the video.
I'm sorry you weren't able to get away Andrew. It will be there for you next year! I was supposed to be in Yosemite this week but work is preventing that. Thanks so much for giving a watch.
Thanks for giving a look. Much appreciated. No bear spray. I could be wrong but I don't think the Black Bears in this area are anything to worry about.
Awesome throughout here well done Autumn is the best
See you soon be safe always have a great week 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Thanks so much for giving a watch.
Wonderful video and some darn good pumpkin carving to boot!
You made it all the way to the end. :) Thanks for giving a watch.

I’m Anthony. I was in the Black Lexus GX that was, unfortunately, totaled on my way back from Bishop. Have a great Thanksgiving tomorrow.
Hi Anthony. Sorry man, your username confused me. I was pretty sure I didn't meet anyone named Judd. 😀
Fantastic video! Very well done. Thanks for sharing.

Oh man what a beautiful video. I've always wanted to visit the Sierra Nevadas, Think I need to organise a trip for next year!

Spectacular. Thanks for the two shots of the wind in the aspens. Used to live in the area. Miss the sounds as much as the images.
