Every school should have this included in their History class as a subject and a constant REMINDER that we OWE so much to those who gave their lives so we can go about our daily lives as we do. I am 61 now and I went to school when WWII was included in History class. A-last, today’s generation missed what needs to be still told…

@nhabro660 Absolutely and it was not just the soldiers. This time mothers were being killed. A primary Axis goal (especially the Germans) was to kill civilians. Most of the more than 55 million people killed were civilians and 90 percent of the civilians killed in the War were killed by the Axis powers.
They are all criminals. Whoever assaults another land is a criminal. Like Britain and France, they assaulted and oppressed African peoples and some Asian countries.

As histórias de bravura desses homens na segunda guerra mundial sempre vão me impressionar, a Liberdade foi a um custo altíssimo de muito sangue derramado, esses Soldados aliados são verdadeiros heróis.
Segunda guerra não é sobre liberdade é sobre hegemônia econômica mundial, luta por recursos etc, sobre quem ia dominar os outros países economicamente, claro q o nazismo é absolutamente desprezível, porém, a narrativa pautada em bem e mal é extremamente limitada e superficial

Rommel arrived from sick leave in Europe in time to send his armoured reserves north to meet the 9th Divi. After weeks of heavy fighting the Germans stopped the Australians but could not force them to retire. Monty then reverted to the southern attack and the British armour broke through after more hard fighting. Both Churchill and General Alexander recognised then and later the part played by the Australians in winning the victory. Soon after the Australians left Africa to face the Japanese in the Pacific theatre.

They died for a number of reasons. Firstly, the worst thing of all is that man could not sit down and negotiate. Secondly, because of a tyrant… Death came easily because of the circumstances of the time, nevertheless, it could have been worst still. We can continue to ask God for peace as I imagine these men did back in 1945, but as Bob Marley said, look for yours on earth as no one else can solve your problems ( but yourself ) than those who we elect to lead us.
