- It was time for the U.S. Navy to get back on track after Pearl Harbor, and in the four-day Battle for the Coral Sea they won victory over the Japanese, before defeating them again in the decisive battle. from Midway. Elsewhere, the Luftwaffe again began to target more British towns in Baedeker's raids.

A lot of it comes from the US propaganda/documentary series called Crusade on the Pacific. It's on yootoob.
Dumnezeu să-i odihnească în pace!❤🙏🇷🇴
Love WWII history. Thank you for the documentaries.

France military can't fight
It should be remembered that the Japanese changed their codes twice between April and June rather than the usual every six months. The Americans knew something big was up. Fragmented sentences and words were as good as they could do.
This is one of the best new war documentaries...I should know...I've watched 👀 and lived with these videos for 60 years and you my friend are dropping road signs everywhere you go..thanks man
A melhor narração. Adoro ouvir sobre A I é II guerra mundial.!
Thank you for the detailed account/explanation & video footage. Whenever I watch a new documetory , the presenters always have some new detail I havn't seen before,
Thank you again for all your research/work.
Merci..
Et bien sûr j'emmerde les trolls 🎉😊
At the same time U.S Navy was in and heavily involved in protecting trade routes with Russia And Britain.
Nessa condição mantinha silêncio no rádio.
By 1942 Britain had turned on Australia and it wasn’t until 1943 that MacArthur had more American troops under his command than Australian. 1942 was a difficult year for the Allies, but with Australia handing out the first defeats to Japan on land, then the Americans managed the same In Guadalcanal, the end of Japan’s expansion had been reached.
Your data and thinking are way, way, off track and you should refresh your comment.
Japan was on a fools errand from long before commencement of WW2 hostilities. Japan could NEVER sustain power, it was only a matter of time before defeat happened on home ground. On population alone, never mind natural resources including oil.
The Japanese population in 1940 was "probably" 70m (home islands, mostly agrarian)
British Empire 500m
America 130m
Britain 48m (home islands)
Australia 7m

aside from the resources, factories that could not be touched and safe training grounds in North America.
even though they had conquered the Philippines it still took military resources to occupy it. The ongoing war with China.
Basically what Japan had done was quick advances without reserve forces. AN attempted sucker punch at pearl harbour that may have sunk some Battleships did nothing to any of the carriers.
Must be an Aussie. Nothing wrong with being proud of your country.
Fantastico adm Nimitz... Respect from Vietnam.... Allahu akhbar
Mahatma Gandi and Tolstoy during the war where friends, they wrote back and forth to one another. It was a privilege to have read the letters.
Je ne parlez pas francais. Thanks for the upload.
According to Shattered Sword The Untold Battle Of Midway the authors were unable to find any evidence of a decoy in Japanese documents regarding the battle. I don’t think in an Eastern mindset, however.
You do a great service by providing these documentaries but please stop blurring images. Perhaps if people see the horrors of war we will not love it so much.
So true to actually see the horror and inhumanity is like a punch to the face ,the younger generation do not understand the price so many paid for their freedom , it's easy to say this was a long time ago and it would never happen in our time. Show it so maybe they'll know those people believed it could never happen in their time either.
This is very well done, if you are only going to watch one piece on this part of History this is the Video. That Dauntless footage from above the Pilots head.... Some of it can be found in better shape elsewhere, but this is a great collection and all here to be upscaled by A.I. eventually.
The Lexington, there is a video here on YT when one of the pilots who was blown off the flight deck he says when he raised his head above the water, "I saw my Ship blowing itself up".
This is an excellent broad overview. But there is a ton of very important side stories that were important. It's actually pretty good. The son in law of those that fought this, an a retired USN Aviator.
Am I the first person to notice that one of the planes shown dropping bombs on Japan (17:46) during the Doolittle Raid with two-engine B-25 bombers in 1942 is a four-engine B-29 (which did not enter service until 1944)?
You probably are.
Not bad. Many clips did not match the narration...
Transformations :
At 17:44 a B24 turn into a B29
At 27:15 a Wildcat turn into a Hellcat on takeoff

At this point it was hard to determine who was in control of Japan‘s military.
I don’t believe that Emperor Hirohito was powerless.

My father was aboard the Lexington at Coral Sea as a observer for Nimitz. When the destroyer Phelps that fished dad out of the sea. Nimitz transferred dad to the Enterprise for the Midway operation. For the next two years dad was on a dozen ships in different operations. Dad ended the war on the SS Missouri in Tokyo harbor. And is standing behind Bull Halsey in the surrender photos.
USS South Dakota fired her aft turrent and set her kingfisher scout plane on fire..... a few seconds later another salvo sent the plane into the ocean...from a damn concussive wave !
The personality shines through and keeps viewers coming back.
Os documentários são bons.
Pens que alguns não estão dublados.
Muitos são narrados em francês...
isn't it funny, Japan who had such strong strict codes throughout their lives and society, that very same way of life, with such things as "honor" and "pride" and "cowardice" etc. absolutely screwed themselves, they could see no utility in compassion and decency (for example in the way they treated prisoners) and when the western forces found out what they were up to, coupled with the ironically cunning, sneaky attack on Pearl, sealed their fate absolutely. Strange how they knew that to defeat America AND her allies they would have to land the knockout punch which they actually didn't do. Yet somehow they thought they had and continued to fight, if it weren't for the atomic bombs that made them surrender, the allies would probably have had to utterly demolish main land Japan....so, in a weird way, if it weren't for the genius of men like Einstein and all the others so well encapsulated by that old photo at the Solvay conference in 1927, Japan wouldn't be what it is today.
Midway would never be used to attack the West Coast of the United States
At the beginning of 1942, in the Battle of the Coral Sea, Japan's defeat was in sight. The imperialist drive of Western countries would never accept giving up their colonies to Japan, which paid dearly for its "insolence".
🙄
👍👍👍👍
Why does youtube censor this video. Not worth watching if censored.
What was the Empire going to do?
watching it with subtitles on is interesting. The voice and the subtitles dont match. I dont mean one is ahead of the other. they different..lol. They say different things.

At this time were these Old Battle Ships even operational or survivable?
They were too slow to keep up with the fast carrier task forces. Once repaired, they provided fire support for amphibious landings.

Attaque surprise de Pearl Harbour ? Pas si certain que prétendu ! Les porte-avions étaient absents ! Pourquoi ?
They were at sea doing training in formation. It’s a well known part of history, no surprises there.
Pure coincidence. The carriers were ferrying aircraft to US outposts (eg, Wake Is) in accordance to general elevated war alerts.
It was terrible warfare for both the U.S. and Japan. Glad that the Japanese forces were no greater.

I think invading the Alaskan island was one of the dumbest of Japan's action in WWII. They were too isolated and far too north to be used effectively to attack the US from. They captured a couple from which they could launch no attacks and were not able to resupply them. All resources Japan committed to Alaska were lost and could have been better expended elsewhere.
