I think you should keep the groovy journal, Gayle. You could journal about your memories of those black and white pants and riding bikes and all. Thanks for sharing such great ideas, today.
Hi Gayle, so happy you like this project, its very addictive ! 😁 I absolutely love the bookpage black and white one! Thanks for the shout out and for giving it a go sweetheart 😘
Gayle, I've never had this response before, but I cried watching you flip through that magnificent journal. One of the pages brought back such a piercing memory of being a little girl getting ready to go to Cape May with my beloved family that I was just overcome. We never got presents as children other than our birthday or Christmas (the norm then and especially in big families) but Mom splurged and got us girls flip-flops and vinyl beach bags to bring. Mine had that exact pattern of florals on a blue background. She made us matching bikinis, too, so even the material flip brought back memories. I was so overcome with longing for those days and my dad (who died a few years ago) that I started balling when you got to that page. I could literally smell the vinyl and the sunscreen we used. Isn't it strange and wonderful how mere paper can bring us back to our childhood? The funny thing is that I'm not a particular fan of the styles of the 70s (love the 40s and 50s) but your book is reminding me of how joyful and playful the prints were. What a work of art. And what a joy to watch you work. You are an artist with paper! Thanks for transporting me to the past, for your generous spirit, and for sharing your immense gift with all of us. I shall now go and mop up.
Hi Gayle. It was fun to see the final flip through of the groovy journal. Such a fun one! I love Scrappy Saturday. It’s one of my favorite days. The side tucks came out so cute. I think they will add a lot to a journal. Thanks for sharing. It was fun to watch. 💜
OMGosh! The Cosmetology book is so gorgeous! You really outdid yourself with this journal. I love this idea for the page edges, they came out so pretty! Thank you for this fun video!
Good morning my dear friend, after several days of beautiful sunshine and warmer temperatures today we are getting rain/snow and it’s back to grey dreary skies today. But you always bring joy and laughter which brightens up my day. You’re like a ray of sunshine. I enjoyed this video and the new idea that you shared. I hope that you and Mike are enjoying the weekend watching the games. Take care and I will see you in the next video. May God bless you and your wonderful family always. Your friend Cindy, from a small town in Northern Ontario, Canada 🇨🇦 ❤️❤️❤️🙏🙏🙏
Good morning Gayle and friends. I’m been watching the mass make march series. Love them all. I have lots of ideas. Punched shapes, even using the edges from book page and music and then stamp on them (though you can stamp on any of the completed tuck, huh?). 😂 Could even use them for edging on pockets or a top tuck. Endless ideas! Hope everyone has a very relaxing and joy filled weekend!
The Cosmetology journal is wonderful, 🎉👏♥️ I'm a little sad too the project is over because it's been so much fun watching you create it. I don't think I could part with it. ❤ Thanks for the collaged strips idea - perfect for something I'm working on - I have a thing for page borders - big special hug ❤❤❤
Good morning Gayle!! I think you should keep that journal for yourself!! Or give it to your friend you bought the pants for. 🥰 Loved this scrappy Saturday!! Have an awesome day...💜
Hi Gayle!! Your journal is simply wonderful and such fun to look through!! You did an amazing job on this journal!! Fun scrappy page edgers!! TFS!! Hugs, Liz:)
Hi Gayle a fun idea - big clusters hey. ! You could decorate with Corey’s idea Little bits of Lace’ here & there … washi or ribbons down sides ideas endless - make bases & decorate according to your journal ; bugs , books , sewing stuff ; or you could use strips you have stamped on (?) … where will you store them ? Another book with blue tack on the back ? Ok you know what you want to do … Hope all your flower buds don’t get eaten by the deer or (?) xxxxx🌷🎖️🐰
Good afternoon Gayle!! Happy scrappy Saturday! Love these strips! Very cool idea to use up scraps. What can I say about the journal beside awesome, groovy, cool!! I love it! Thanks for bringing us along down memory lane. 😁 Hope you have a great day! 💞💕Hugs!!
Groovy turned out so good and I love that jewellry was misspelled. Haha my spellcheck is having a fit!! I think the side tucks are adorable. I loved the one with the tab. I think that really added to it! So fun.
I love how we all inspire each other, I just posted a video that was inspired by these same strips from Margarete and in the same video I used your idea for scrap pieces on the border of the tea dyed pages that you just did in your groovy journal. But instead of scraps I strictly used stickers I tad so much fun = Thanks for the inspiration 💕
I’m playing catch up this early Monday morning since I didn’t watch any videos Saturday or Sunday. So enjoying my coffee with 3 Gayle videos this morning. The Cosmetology Journal turned out great. When you said it was a hard one to part with, I remembered Nancy Pyter. She made one for herself & one for her shop 😆. She put her favorite 45 record on the front cover as a topper & decided to keep it & make a second one with a 45 record but not her favorite 😍. Great Scrappy Saturday as always. Was happy to see the “bugs” come out. I haven’t started my bug journal yet 🙄
Happy Scrappy Saturday Gayle! The page borders are a fun idea to use scraps! Love them! When I was in Europe several years ago, I noticed the spelling of jewelry was spelled “jewellery”. Not sure if we Americans got it wrong when we separated from England. 😂 Have a stunning weekend my beautiful friend, hugzzz💖
Happy Saturday sis! My favorite day to watch! Woohoo! Not sleeping yet but hopefully very soon. Thanks for only doing one bug strip.. 😂lol! Have a beautiful, relaxing and blessed day! Love you! ❤
Hi Gayle. The page trim/tuck spot would also make a great bellyband. The straight edge being the side we would slide things in so the uneven edge wouldn't interfere with that. I have done similar things and they are a lot of fun. TFS Hope you have a great day. 🌞
Oh! I really enjoyed you making the 60’s journal! ❤❤❤ How fun it was! I purchased Joey’s groovy digitals because they are so beautiful! ❤❤❤I’m working on my second journal.
Hello Gayle. Better late than never. This weekend is family time. Today's quote: "Make your Saturday shine like the sun and your dreams soar like the stars"
Good morning!! Fun day today, loving the strips. 😊 Usually I just watch but I need to post a birthday card off so I'm actually crafting along with you!😊 The journal turned out fantastic. I can understand why it's difficult to part with your work!❤ Have a good day!😁💕
Howdy! Melina Pylant did the same thing differently but used masking tape upside down so scraps would stick, then glued a strip on the back of masking tape. Then she would trim the sides. Very cute, too.
The strips will be wonderful additions to a page. It would be great to use scraps from the digital being used in the journal. Thank you for saving the bunny’s ears!😂 A little under the weather tonight and couldn’t sleep. Told myself I’d watch Gayle for 15 minutes…here it is the end of the video! Lol Thanks for being such a bright spot in my day. Now to try and get some sleep. Have a Blessed day!
Oh My Goodness I love the Cosmetology journal. I went to Cosmetology school in the late 70’s so this was really special to watch you put it all together. It is so fun! I also think you should keep this one for yourself..🩷
Good morning Gayle. Such a lovely fun journal. I love everything you do but Scrappy Saturday is still my favourite. I watched Margarethe do this on her channel as well. Yours look great especially the bugs. Big hugs. ❤
Good morning Gayle! I love the Cosmetology journal. It is so cool. These little page edge cluster like thingies look like a lot of fun. I need to go check out Margreth's Mass Makes. I've not watched any of those. I'm home now, so time to get back in the groove. Take care. I will see you tomorrow. I love you friend 😊🤗❤
Morning dear Gayle! Have a wonderful weekend, both you and Mike. (Oh, I found a pkg of guest checks at Walmart...9 books of them,50 pages each and you get 3 pink, 3 green and 3 blue...can't wait to use them!!)
Good Morning Gayle,,,, YAY Scrappy Saturday , boy do I know how hard it is to part with journal. That is the reason I have not sold any of mine e lol ❤️💕❤️
I usually watch Margreth, but have not had the opportunity this month, with one thing or another. So I'm glad to see you do this project. I think it might be something I can focus a little bit on - I need a distraction from my thinking and tears. Lost my 2 year old baby (cat) to misadventure with a car. My heart just doesn't seem to be in creating right now, and that's not helpful for healing. ❤ Let me tell you, Gayle, you are my lifeline right now, a gift from my Lord.
Gayle, your 60s journal is wonderful! I have not started on a 60s book yet but I do have Joey's kit ready to use. This morning I completed the Malcolm book I've been working on for over a year. I don't usually take so long to finish a project but this one was super complicated and the story being so serious made it uncomfortable to work for too long of periods of time on it. I am almost halfway through my Spring book so I expect I'll go to the 60s book when that one's through. My experience of the 60s was different from yours. I didn't serve in the military because of heart issues but I was involved in several full scale riots. No, I was not a protester. Scary times but very exciting as well!! I got to know some officers in the city riot squad by name.
Hello Gail! Could you do a flip through of your idea book/s? I would love to see them! I’m working on mine and seeing one would help me know how to set up my own! Thank you!💕😊
Good morning Gayle I definitely think you should keep the groovy journal, so many of your personal memories in it. You can sell the 2nd one you make with Joey's ķit❤❤❤
Morning Sue! Well…..I have three book shelves of journals that I’ve purchased from others. And my husband said when I started making journals…are we going to have these things all over the house? 😂. Yep, I think I better sell it. 😂❤
I wonder how those would look with scraps of lace, maybe different colors, maybe with some a little scrunched up, maybe with some really tiny, maybe with some flowing down along the edge, maybe, maybe….. (here I go thinking out loud again, with my non crafter ideas that I will never try☺️)
Hi Gayle. Love the trip down memory lane with the cosmo journal. Those Mystery Date cards were the best! When you’re using ephemera bits or scraps, do you ever spill the baggie out onto a tray to make finding the right bit a little easier?
A very happy scrappy Saturday, video was way too short, I could have watched more! Thanks for sharing the final flip though of the Cosmetology journal, one of my favorites! 🩷💛🩵🧡

Hi Gayle! It was very fun to do some paper crafting along with you! I also used my scraps :) Thanks for your video.

The Cosmetology journal was my all time fav, loved it. And I love these paper edge strip projects popping up in our JJ community ❤ fun!
Oh sweet friend! I just now saw your comment. I’m so very sorry for your loss. 😢. Sending big comforting hugs. ❤
It's a groovy journal!! And I do remember that song, Turn, Turn, Turn by The Birds, or Yardbirds? Lol❤
Yes! I think it was The Birds! ❤
Love all the hippy dippy vibes in the journal
Happy Saturday Gayle! Oh I love collage, so fun and relaxing!
