I think all the Arkham games are great Halloween games with the exception of Origins. Because that’s the best Christmas game ever made. I replay all four games right around this time of year.
I remember getting all the trophies for this game took ages and listening to the tapes also my favorite part was all the hallucinations even the mini ones
This is my fave of the Arkham games. I love the story, and how Scarecrow, who is no match for Batman physically is more than a match mentally, far more so than Riddler. Riddler can't help but set up his own failings due to his hubris whereas Crane is first and foremost a strategist.
Asylum- is halloween game as well (because of the atmosphere but I'd be interested in other takes) City- Summer Game Origins - Christmas game obviously Knight- Halloween Game
It’s a tradition at this point for me to play knight, watch The Batman and read/ watch long Halloween Edit: I’m actually being Scarecrow this Halloween as well lol
Order I play every year Asylum - October (closer to Halloween) City - November/early December Origins - December (closer to Christmas) Knight - January
Even thought this takes olace on Halloween, Asylum feels more Halloweeny to me and i always play it around this time of year (not yet this year though)
Meh. His part was ok, but let's face it, Bruce at 100% health (not Titan poisoned) and no mental/emotional crisis would've probably stopped Scarecrow pretty handedly. The only real problem he would've had that game would be Jason, since the kid was trained by him and all. The only reason Scarecrow got as far as he did was because Batman screwed up more than Scarecrow succeeded in anything, and that was because poor Bruce was dealing with everything he was both physically and emotionally. His focus was split into so many directions he couldn't concentrate as well.
I’m not gonna lie as much as I love Arkham Knight it doesn’t feel like a Halloween game and I forget it takes place around Halloween. I will say the Matter of Family DLC does give off the Halloween feeling with scary attractions and the tragic backstory of the owner. Asylum feels more like the Halloween game of the Arkham Series with the claustrophobic environment and the creepy foes such as Scarecrow, Killer Croc, and the lunatic inmates.
Arkham Shadow is AMAZING and every arkham players dream come true. Its litterally putting the player inside the cowl living and reacting to the world of the first 4 games and I'm so glad I lived to see it. 🔥🔥🔥
I think Knight was a great way to bring Bruce's Batman career full circle. He started out as that original "Batman" vigilante, would eventually build a network of allies and even a whole sub set of "Bat Family", establish a legacy, then appropriately vanish into the night. Then, once it's clear that everyone thinks the Batman and Bruce are dead, his allies are cleared and hands washed of their connections to him, he reappears as an even greater symbol of fear to the evil criminal elemental and goes back to being a solo hero. He's back on the streets on his own, bringing no one else in and preventing further liabilities or collateral on his behalf. It sucks that it probably means we won't get any new Arkham sequel games, but given how horrible it turned out when they tried with Suicide Squad, I'm pretty much ok with that now. That said, I wouldn't mind some new Arkham games that act as prequels and fill in some timeline gaps in between Origins and Asylum (No, those terrible VR exclusive games don't count in my eyes). Just sayin'.
Played this game for the first time ever in October 2021, what an awesome game. Personally, my favorite Halloween games are Alan Wake, Super Castlevania IV, Resident Evil (GC REmake) and Costume Quest.
An interesting video that I would like to see you cover is potentially characters that were not teased or rumored for the Arkham games and what their implications would be if in. Also, what their stories could be Great stuff as usual Jay.
100%. Honestly, I play Origins every Christmas season (not the entire game, just playing in the open map) and Knight every Halloween season. I'm not sure why, but it just gets me into the holiday season
I am playing through Arkham Knight now actually, its my go to Halloween game. I too love the Arkham series, its my fav video game series well the 4 main games, I dont count SSKTJL. Great video as always Jay. Thank you for showing your love of this series. Its how I got into your channel. Happy Halloween! Welcome the Gotham, the city of Fear!!
I wish i had a game that I played at a specific time of year, but for some reason games just don't grab me that way. I still love the vibe of knight, and you're awesome!
I always play origins around Christmas time in December. Been thinking about making Knight a similar tradition, though my go to game/series every October is Castlevania. Mainly the NES trilogy, Castlevania 4 and bloodlines. Sometimes I’ll fit a metroidvania in there too for good measure
Honestly couldn’t agree more, I just finished getting new game plus ready for Halloween. Absolutely stoked, this is gonna be my third Halloween grinding this game.
Great video, Jay! Tho I’m not an Arkham Knight I do love the Halloween aesthetic. My favorite game to play during October and particularly on Halloween is Red Dead Nightmare on PS3, yes getting old school there.
While the themes of fear and the game taking place on Halloween are definitely there, I unfortunately don't really "feel" Knight as a Halloween game. The Halloween decorations are sparse and easy to gloss over, and the Batmobile turning into a tank kinda makes you feel the opposite of fear haha. If the military aspect of Knight wasn't there nor the Batmobile, I think I'd feel it more strongly. And if they had turned up the horror more (given Scarecrow is the antagonist after all), that might've really helped Knight "pop" more in terms of story. That's really cool to think about actually. Despite Knight taking place on Halloween, Asylum gives me that feeling more due to the raw atmosphere and presentation. It's both metaphorically and literally dark. Not to mention the Scarecrow stealth sections, the Killer Croc sewer, and the psycho inmates. But what do I know? I'll never turn down the chance for some Batman discussion. Love the videos man 👍
While all the Arkham games (except Origins since that's way better as a Christmas game,) all of them work pretty well as Halloween games. But out of all of them, I'd argue the best Halloween game amongst them is actually Asylum. Despite taking place on Halloween and Scarecrow being the big bad, the game rarely ever feels "scary" save for a few scenes since it's easy to feel invincible and in control, whether it be on foot or in the Bat tank. But with Asylum, your options are way more limited, even starting with just one gadget, and for the entire game you're stuck on this one island and stuck traversing the claustrophobic halls of this outdated and decrepit mental institution, the game in general has a much more uncomfortable atmosphere all the way through, and Scarecrow despite appearing far less ends up being legitimately scary, which is something I never quite felt in Knight. That said, great video as always.
Arkham Knight is actually my favorite. Just unforgettable moments. Seeing the Jason Todd stuff like where he was tortured, and so many other moments that were so impactful. The constant fighting your own demons while dealing with the cruelty of the outside world. & the dlc characters are so fun. Flying around with my fav superhero Nightwing facing off endless waves of enemies is too fun…..I stopped playing Gotham Knight after a couple days just bc the gameplay and fighting mechanics are just so underbaked and trash and slow and clunky compared to the Arkham series. Like how.
In honesty I thin they should have incorporated the long Halloween version for Arkham knight. Origins was great for the Christmas theme. The best Halloween game to play is Castlevania or Resident Evil.
For the Question of the Episode: I'm usually playing The Binding of Isaac. The Flash game style graphics, the monsters, the music, the setting just feels very Halloweenesq. Unfortunately, I decided to step away from the game and not sure if I'll be going back to it. There are so many times where the game is just against you and after so many times I just realized I wasn't having fun. May go back to it, have been considering it.

Just like how Origins is a great Christmas game
One of the best!
💯 agreed 👍
Yess
You are damm right
I think all the Arkham games are great Halloween games with the exception of Origins. Because that’s the best Christmas game ever made. I replay all four games right around this time of year.
Arkham Origins reminds me of Batman returns. Both are cool to watch or play around Christmas time imo
Playing Asylum … definitely Halloween vibes
I remember getting all the trophies for this game took ages and listening to the tapes also my favorite part was all the hallucinations even the mini ones

Great to see a full in-depth Arkham Knight analysis here! Love it!
Asylum- is halloween game as well (because of the atmosphere but I'd be interested in other takes)
City- Summer Game
Origins - Christmas game obviously
Knight- Halloween Game
How is City a summer game?
Yea how is city a summer game?😆
Arkham Shadow is going to take place on the 4th of July
It’s a tradition at this point for me to play knight, watch The Batman and read/ watch long Halloween
Edit: I’m actually being Scarecrow this Halloween as well lol
Really, so am I 😅
@@rosariostefenelli4155 Nice, hope your Halloween turns out awesome and spooky 🦇👍
Order I play every year
Asylum - October (closer to Halloween)
City - November/early December
Origins - December (closer to Christmas)
Knight - January
Both asylum and knight make good halloween games
Even thought this takes olace on Halloween, Asylum feels more Halloweeny to me and i always play it around this time of year (not yet this year though)
It's good to see the Discord Notifications always work.
I think we can all agree that we hated the man-bat jumpscare 😭😭😭
Scarecrow was great in this just wish we saw him a little more often.
Meh. His part was ok, but let's face it, Bruce at 100% health (not Titan poisoned) and no mental/emotional crisis would've probably stopped Scarecrow pretty handedly. The only real problem he would've had that game would be Jason, since the kid was trained by him and all.

i think Batman Arkham Knight is amazing Halloween game in October
I always play through Asylum and Knight every October as my Halloween tradition
Arkham Asylum Seems a better Holloween game than Arkam Knight. That's just my opinion.
Arkham Knight has the best jumpscares and horror elements of the series.
Arkham Origins even though not as good as good Rocksteady’ Arkham trilogy needs a PS4/PS5 remaster
I’m not gonna lie as much as I love Arkham Knight it doesn’t feel like a Halloween game and I forget it takes place around Halloween. I will say the Matter of Family DLC does give off the Halloween feeling with scary attractions and the tragic backstory of the owner.

This is how it happened...
This is how THE BATMAN died.
This is how The Joker died
The GOAT back y'all
Played this game for the first time ever in October 2021, what an awesome game.

It really does fit the season so well; I always play through it every year during October along with Origins at Christmas

There is also Professor Pyg and the sequence where we play as the Joker that were creepy.
I wish i had a game that I played at a specific time of year, but for some reason games just don't grab me that way. I still love the vibe of knight, and you're awesome!
I wouldn't call it love, I'd call it a symbiotic dependency. One needing the other and the other needing to understand the other.
Yeah, love implies a selfless desire to care for someone. While Batman wants Joker rehabilitated, Joker only loves "playing games" with him.
This is My Favorite Halloween Game
I always play origins around Christmas time in December. Been thinking about making Knight a similar tradition, though my go to game/series every October is Castlevania. Mainly the NES trilogy, Castlevania 4 and bloodlines. Sometimes I’ll fit a metroidvania in there too for good measure
Do gotta replay some Arkham 🙌
Honestly couldn’t agree more, I just finished getting new game plus ready for Halloween. Absolutely stoked, this is gonna be my third Halloween grinding this game.
Good video man👍
Great video, Jay! Tho I’m not an Arkham Knight I do love the Halloween aesthetic. My favorite game to play during October and particularly on Halloween is Red Dead Nightmare on PS3, yes getting old school there.
Can’t go wrong with Outlast around this time of year 😅
Outlast is a great game
I literally hit 240% yesterday
Congratulations
Love the premise of this one I'm excited!
Asylum is too.
Batman: Arkham Knight is definitely a top ten game, not just for this time of year, but in general, in my honest opinion.

This video game is amazing i can't wait for Batman Arkham showdown on meta quest s3
arkham asylum is an even better halloween game

I’m still annoyed that there wasn’t a calendar man side mission though
This October I’m playing bloodborne then the VR Arkham shadow game
I beat Batman arkham asylum, im currently playing Batman arkham city, the Batman arkham trilogy is a timeless masterpiece
This whole game is literally Batman trying to stop his worst fear being a reality. I can’t see how people don’t like this game
Ragnarok is an Amazing Christmas Game
Arkham Knight is actually my favorite. Just unforgettable moments. Seeing the Jason Todd stuff like where he was tortured, and so many other moments that were so impactful. The best Halloween game to play is Castlevania or Resident Evil.
Off topic but you should do a video on the 10th anniversary of Assassin’s Creed Unity and Rogue!
My favorite halloween game is Alien Isolation.

They need to remaster Arkham Origins and if they bring back the multiplayer that would make it even better. Better then ssktjl🤷🏿♂️
The drones and tanks ruined the halloween vibe for me. :(
Arkham city is basically Detroit
I Play Fallout this time every year
Honestly not my favourite game but I definitely consider it a Big Halloween especially because of the return of a big bad.
hi Jay
Cream
Yeah ide love to enjoy Arkham knight if it didn’t crash at the exact same section of the game on pc for me games an absolute dog shit mess
All I play is Fortnite and the Arkham games I’d say about 95% Fortnite and 5% fort when I’m taking a break
