    Thanks for watching the third video in our houseboat camping series! Do you have a favorite place to beach your houseboat, or any kind of boat really, when out making memories on the water? If so, what is it like?

    What a beautiful spot you guys found! So great to see the dog enjoying herself on the island. My dog is 13 now, really wish I could give him experiences like that during his senior years.

      Thank you so much for watching our video! This really is a great spot for our little family, especially our dog, Dory. We try to give Dory as much love and fun experiences as we can. Think she mostly just loves to be doing what we are doing, whatever that is. I bet your dog feels the same way about being with you. Hope Dory lives to be at least 13. So wonderful your dog is that age. Dogs are truly a gift to humans!

    My family just bought our first houseboat and moved it to dock 10. As soon as we saw your videos we recognized exactly where you guys were! We had a blast on the fourth. One tip we learned from Cap’n Doug was to get two hose reels and place them on the back porch of the boat for ropes. That way, when you undo them on the front of the boat to tie around trees, you can just pull them out and reel in the excess. Then just tie it to the cleats on the back. It makes it so much faster to get beached and unbeached.
    Also if you haven’t already, definitely recommend eating at Fish Tales in safe harbor. By far the best food on the lake. You can’t take the houseboat all the way up there, but you can dock there in a smaller boat or drive.
    Hope you all had a great fourth!

      Howdy, neighbor!! Congratulations to you and your family on your new houseboat 🎉! You won’t regret it! So happy to hear y’all are already out and enjoying your boat. We had a great time on July 4th, too. We went out and houseboat camped for a few days, and then came back and hung out with dock friends at the marina. Thank you for the tip about the hose reels - another great idea from Captain Doug. We’ll have to give it a try (all the tips we’ve tried from him have been great 👍🏼). Fish Tales is awesome! We have only been one time, but it was perfect because Clare could play in the sandbox while we took turns eating. A lot of fun, and we will definitely visit again. Hope to catch y’all out on the lake sometime, and glad you’re watching our videos!

    Hey guys! So lovely to see you all out on the island, looks so peaceful,our kind of weekend. Clare is so cute and growing up fast it's been so nice to watch your journey from the baby stage up to now🙏 I still get that wow thought when I see your boat, I always picture us with you guys on the deck enjoying those stunning views! Haha...
    We have a few islands here but not as secluded, I love seclusion. We have alot of little islands appear at low tide we nudge up our boat and have a bbq at which is so cool. Hamley our Labradoodle is yet to get Dory's boat confidence 🤣 glad you all had a great time! Stay safe 🙏

      Hey Carlton! We love the seclusion of this little island. Pretty much had the cove to ourselves the entire holiday weekend. We went back out to the same island the beginning of July and it was definitely more crowded this time, but still festive. Seeing our boat from the side and away from the dock really puts in perspective how big it is, doesn’t it? We were saying the same thing last time we went out to houseboat camp and were swimming beside it - kinda can’t believe it sometimes haha.
      Having a BBQ on one of those islands that appear sounds like so much fun, and probably a bit of an adventure to find one at low tide. I’m curious to see if Dory would love salt water boating as much as she loves the lake life. Maybe Hamley would be a natural at houseboat life! Clare has really started to become a houseboat toddler - asking all about the houseboat the days leading up to our next adventure there 😆. Growing so fast and is soaking it all in like a little sponge. Hope y’all are having a great weekend!

      @@DeepHouseboatLife I think it's the swell and waves Hamley is nervous of, I'm sure he would love the houseboat life, he's a peace and quiet,no stress dog ( like my life wants) so I'm sure he would love a lake life haha. I'll be sure to add some pics or videos next time we're out on the boat, hopefully a little island find too.
      I do always smile when Clare says "boat!" Her little accent is sooo cute!
      Can't wait until the next video 😁🙏

      @@carlton1986 lake life is definitely quite peaceful! You all and Hamley would truly love it. There’s a lot fewer rough waves and no swells, so it’s much friendlier for the pups and kiddos. Clare is talking more all the time and her accent really is so cute. She has a hard time pronouncing Rs and we want to film her talking before she figures out how to do it because it’s sweet kiddo talk. We always appreciate you all watching our videos. Looking forward to seeing pics of y’all on your boat and the islands soon

    How often do you have to throw out or bury your anchor lines when you beach?

    • @DeepHouseboatLife
      @DeepHouseboatLife  2 года назад

      We actually don't ever use our anchor, though we do have one. We just run our houseboat up on the beach and then tie lines from both sides of the boat to shore instead of using an anchor. Much more secure that way for us.

    • @DeepHouseboatLife
      @DeepHouseboatLife  2 года назад

      Hey, Robert! Thank you so much for watching our video. We do have a drone, but we don't know how to fly it very well so we don't use it much yet. My wife, Jessie, got that shot by filming with her iPhone mounted to a monopod that allows her to hold the camera very steady while moving. We actually randomly got that monopod in the Seoul airport during a layover flight many years ago. Who knew then that we would be using it for Deep Houseboat Life now ha

      @DeepHouseboatLife  2 года назад

      Hey! Thank you for watching and pointing this out. You are 100% correct, and that is one down sides to not being in a covered slip. Getting a good wash, buff and wax is on the list for late fall when it cools off a bit!
