It was nice to see your hometown. It really does seem like a nice place to grow up. My hometown is similar in that way, but we definitely don't have those places to hang out like European towns have. No square or anything. The closest I had was the mall and I was never mall person to begin with. I definitely prefer my college town.
Anyway, of course I listened to the mix tape and really enjoyed it! The whole thing sounded like everyone had a lot of fun making it.

What a nice place! The place where I grew up also had about 100k people, but was much more city-ish and not nearly as nice and cute. Also growing up on a boat is something I couldn't imagine here! I was once in Amsterdam and we stayed in an Airbnb which was a boat, that was great. 😁

@@Teddyrobinson The city I grew up is called Hildesheim. But I've been living in Göttingen for the past 10 years so I barely have a connection to Hildesheim anymore. 😅 The Airbnb is called "Gastenverblijf op woonboot met zicht op oude molen," you should be able to find it with that. 👍
@@stefandesu Hildesheim looks pretty cute to me! The pics on google all show the one square though so it might not be super cool beyond that. The airbnb looks awesome!

Stavoren Oldseeharbour from: 400 is the Oldest Seeharbour from the Benelux !.
Stavoren is a picturesq town on the shores of the old Zuiderzee. After the Zuiderzee was closed-off from the sea in 1932 it became the "IJsselmeer". 👀Look by Stavoren on RUclips Among other, the old filmś shows the beautiful old town and the ferry that still runs between Stavoren and Enkhuizen (on the other side of the IJsselmeer). Also a unique rail ferry can be seen that moved goods trains back and forth across the Zuiderzee. Stavoren lies in the Dutch province of Friesland. It is the first town that obtained in 1061 / in 2021 960 years city-rights, in the 11th centure by Count Egbert with permission from German emperor Hendrik V. It has only about 1000 inhabitants and is an old "Hanzestad" trading city. Also it is one of the 11 cities of the famous "Elfstedentocht". This is a world-famous skating event which can only be held during harsch winters to ensure an ice thickness of at least 15 cm on all the canals of the route. There is also a well know legend about the

We went on holiday in the north of the country with some people from Brabant.
We have visited Groningen, Giethoorn and Leeuwarden and some Frisian ''Cities''.
Giethoorn was a bit disappointing. It looks a lot like the Brabant village of 's-Gravenmoer'.
Some farms with waterways....
We also expected more from Groningen. It is a lively city, but also poorly maintained. Lots of rubbish, old furniture and bums on the street.
The tourist spots were okay..we ate at the gold office..nice location..bad food.
We were actually pleasantly surprised with Leeuwarden. It looks like a kind of 's-Hertogenbosch "lite". Less touristy, but very clean, people are more approachable than in Groningen.

@@Teddyrobinson Hahaha ja, dat ben ik :) Staniastate is al wel lang geleden. Mijn ouders zijn nog verhuisd naar de Harstastate (straat ernaast), waar ik ook nog een aantal jaar heb gewoond. Sinds 2016 zit ik zelf in Tilburg haha

Curfew at 10pm, can't have more than one visitor at a time, all restaurants takeout only. They're loosening up a bit come summer though
