I like epicardiectomy. I own some of their albums on tape. It's true some of their tracks aren't distinguishable from eachother, it's more album to album difference. They have really good drums, drum sound is killer, and obviously the music is less about stupid brutality (this makes it alot different from devourment, they are not just a devourment clone), but some of the tracks are mid paced, it's technical and groovy, and you can follow everything that's happening musically. That being said, I'm also not a fan of their dress style and performance as such.
Perfect time to tell this anecdote again but I got a good poser story here (told this story before on a hellcast video) before but there was this kid in my high school who liked Xxxtentaion I was wearing my at the time battle vest with bands like Slayer, Dark Funeral, Rotting Christ, Beherit, Celtic Frost etc. and he came up to me and asked me “Hey, how can I become emo like you. @@humanbrisket7718 Yeah I expect that from GWAR. Metal is really theatrical at times, but this doesn't apply to every band. Even if some kids come out wearing orange Abercrombie and Fitch gear as long as they pay the money to get in and possibly buy merch it only helps out the bands.

While I don't condone their image, on a purely musical level I like Epicardiectomy. Especially their drummer. I actually prefer them to most slam bands
