- Have you ever thought about leveling another character in Splatoon? In this video we see just what it's like starting at the bottom in C Rank. I truly do feel for the decent players who are stuck down here.

Originally I hadn't planned to record anything with this character, but some of the moments were just too good to not capture. I realise that some people are better at the game than others so please, don't take the video too seriously. It's only meant to be light-hearted fun.

Just some side points that I didn't have time to say in the video:
-Out of all the games I played in Ranked Battle mode up to something like B+ rank, apart from two, we won. So don't worry, me messing about didn't affect negatively on the outcome of the match for my team.
-If you're wondering if it's possible to carry a team with just your own actions in the C and B ranks, in my experience yes it is! As evidenced by the point above.

100% of the matches I play and I'm in A+ always facing level 50's. If Splatoon 2 does not have skilled match making and does not ban people for Disconnecting being AFK and (suiciding- WTF spell correct) Splatoon will be dead.

For me it is. One time I had a team that ignored the tower in tower control and covered turf until it was like 5 away from the end for them.
I don't. Must be because I splekt everyone on Kelp Dome Rainmaker with the Mini Splatling and got to Rank C+ or something. Mahi-Mahi Resort was like a dream come true (-;
Huh... So THAT'S what my team was doing while I was capturing the enemy splat zone alone...
pfffff... if only A+ and S players were that easy to kill...

+Bill Bop Being A+/S is the most miserable feeling in Splatoon. Most times I'm just in losing streaks between A+ and back to S.

Star Moral I had several people while in splatfest hide behind the creates in walleye the one the over look the death pit, honestly didn't know that back part was inkable, but I digress there are time I really question people, and then there's squid party ugh I really hate those.

Getting past C rank is harder than getting past A+ ranks.
I feel like c rank has gotten progressively worse (skill wise). At launch C rank was no where near this bad

I've always felt that the game forces you to carry a few teams before hitting the next rank. At the C's you really just have to be able to take out four Splatoon equivalents of Portal Turrets while your teammates do whatever, but when you have to carry a team of A+'s against God Tier players to make it to S rank, it really just becomes some kind of sick initiation.
Yeah I agree, in early levels it's just pot luck if you can't carry your team. It can be quite frustrating.
Nothing like having to carry the whole team in C rank.

i can not for the dear life of me remember. i got out of C rank ages ago. i don't really remember B rank much as well. i only remeber A and S rank.

As a hardcore Splatoon gamer who spends hours shouting profanities at the TV while playing ranked, I find this hilarity a soothing diversion. Good ol' C rank. I was so glad to rank out of C and yet I still miss it sometimes. This video is classic. Thanks for sharing.

splatoon 2 tilt controls in a nutshell
CeezyGamer Lol yeah, I don't know why but Splatoon 2's motion controls on the Switch feel really different to me. Still enjoying it though.
Polygon George might be because the joy cons being small or the motion controls being stronger but they atleast make you adjust the sensitivity
Yeah I think that the level of sensitivity control in this one is great. Don't know what it is with the motion control though. I mean, obviously it will be different gyroscope hardware and whatnot so that will feel different, but using the Joy-Cons I experienced loads of aim drifting to the left even while I was resting my hands. Anyway the pro controller is okay for me so not a huge issue. Might just be my Joy-Cons that have hardware issues :S.
I'm terrible at aiming on the tv. I can only aim right on handheld. That's really important since I use chargers a lot

C rank players aren't jealous of S because they're in S
They're jealous that they actually got teammates competent enough to let them rank up once.
good strategy for tower control is to have two people on the tower at all times (use squid beacons if you can), have one person in front of the tower shooting down enemies, and one person at the back making sure they dont sneak up

C rank is really a minefield for strange things and insane moments xD But fun nonetheless, especially if you are not that worry about climbing up in rank ;)
Haha yeah cool dude was great. If you watch carefully he kinda ducks just as the shot is fired. I knew all along really he was an S+ rank player in disguise :P.
Yeah it is great for people who aren't too bothered about rank, and tbh it was really nice for me to actually breath whilst playing ranked battle for a change, and notice things you dont normally :P. I'm all too used to one mistake (usually mine haha) and you lose the game kinda matches :).

Ahahaha, yh. I also did it as well (go back to C- and climbing from there) and it was relaxing. In fact, when I go down in rank I don't actually get that frustrated (or at least it passes after ten minutes or so ahahaha) because I get to play in a lower level and the difference is quite noticeable, and it is also not that difficult to go up again.
You also had the right attitude, just chilling around and enjoying the ride xD Even though, I wondered from time to time while I watched the video if the one(s) that were actually playing well (or trying to) became frustrated with you as well for doing nothing, especially at the part in which you had the Rainmaker while beside the enemy base ahahaha

I was concerned about messing about too much like you said because I didn't want to mess the game up for any of the players who were actually working hard :D, so I would normally start the game messing about and then if the other team got close to winning I would start trying seriously. We lost two matches on the way to B+ so it didn't effect anyone negatively apart from those two matches. But I think we would have lost those two anyway, there were some really good players in those ones.

Yes, I know what you mean, we have to respect the ones we have below us as much as we do respect the ones we have above. And yeah, sometimes even if you are an S+ playing on a C- lobby and giving your very best, things will go badly because it is after all a team work, you have to have at least one that is good enough to help you carry the team.

+Diazproduction I'm really glad you enjoyed the video so much! I probably won't make one quite the same unless I travel through C rank again, but maybe something along the same style. Watch this space. One thing's for sure... the fake accents will probably never stop... I can't control them :P

My first game of rainmaker, I triumphantly grabbed the rainmaker, only to realize with horror that I had no idea where the pedestal was. I swam around in a panic until someone picked me off. Bet my teammates were pissed.
Needless to say, I reconned every map from then on out and made sure I knew where to go. xD
Its just funny being a veteran and playing Splatoon 2 and witnessing the horrors of the new players in c-
My C rank experience is like an A+ experience now I'm in A+
I only just got from C+ to B-, and I am so relieved that I no longer have to deal with some of the idiots you get at the C area.

I'm actively keeping my tower control rank on c because it's just so funny to see all the c rank people. But it's not as bad in Splatoon 2 as in h the e. Im guessing that will change soon. And for people who are gonna ask. I'm A in both splat zones and rainmaker.
I love C rank. It's the only rank where I don't see constant

As for myself, I'm thinking of a Bamboozler challenge. It's a weapon I think is super fun, but I'm not nearly experienced enough to make it work in S+. Would be an interesting one, for sure!

ShaneTheCorrupted as for Bamboozler, that sounds like a great challenge. Nearly at S+ with the alt now and see a lot of S+ bamboozlers popping in the group so definitely possible. No idea how they do it, mind :D.

I made it to S+ on my main, I still remember my first ranked match I did back in C-. I believe it was walleye splat zones. Then I had made an alt when I had reached S+ on main to revisit it again. After that I kinda just got bored and decided to get S+ on alt too.
My C rank experience: actually had good coordination and got to B instantly A rank: this video... what is wrong with these people
Every time I see a splatoon 1 video I just wish they'd bring back every map for turf war, I could take or leave them for ranked.
yep, this is C rank. i'm S on my main and A+ on my charger account but I just started another alt to learn rainmaker (something I should've done long before getting to S, oh well) and C was a hoot. i wasn't even playing my main weapons because I hadn't unlocked them yet, I have little knowledge about rainmaker, and I was getting 20+ kills and almost always a knockout. Shout out especially to the one guy every match who would bring the rainmaker to the wrong pedestal.
I'm a B+. I was at A- but a load of losses sent me back and now I'm getting B+ nightmares again.

It was weird for me - I had some Tower Control matches in B- rank hoping to rank down (yes, you heard right), but for some reason I kept getting wins and went up to B!

There's also a HUUUGE difference between B+ and B : I was B+ 90 (R.I.P) and i kept losing to B, once i was B, my FIRST BATTLE was Rainmaker in Arowana Mall. I think he was Level 2 and playing on a friend's console, because he took the RM, then he came to OUR base.. he understood lately and he Inksploded, with me. It was basically like that on other matches, but that one was the worst.

I hate having an "Uneducated" person with the rainmaker. There was one when the person with the rainmaker who camped the point. They need a tutorial on ALL the modes, not just turf war
Emmakupkake played a person that had the rainmaker on my team and we were RIGHT NEXT TO IT and he decides he's just going to keep shooting the team instead of going on the podium and gets shot
That was me once. I thought the goal was to run the timer down, then when it hit 0 and I died I got so salty

I leveled another profile and used a sniper in c rank (im normally a level 50 rank s e-liter user) and i was like. averaging like 20 kills a match. My personal favorite is when i got 27 kills and died once. c ranks are something else
i lost 7 times in a row in c rank in splatoon 2
I should purposely rank down to C so I can level up my gear quicker

u know when the inkling disappeared yea that happend to me I had bad connection and the game put me in ranked by mistake when I was only at level 1

Players who dont get what to do in ranked are not even able to reach rank B- I mean right at the start you only have to read the little text in the middle of the screen: *Splat Zones Capture the Zones* or *Tower Control ride the Tower* or *Rainmaker transport the rainmaker* is it so hard? ._.
my experience in C and B was incredibly challenging specially because I started playing splatoon since the old meta when the most powerful weapons were the dynamo roller, the krak on splat roller and the golden aerospray
of course back in those days we only had Splat zones so Dynamo roller too OP pls nerf
Specially because any contact with the smallest part of the ink hitbox was insta death
oh yea and the kraken special was unstoppable

I remember it well yeah, struggling through C rank when they released it after the first week or whatever it was.
All the good people have slowly sifted to the top now though, so C rank is left with people still getting to grips with the game, or people who have just made alts and are passing through. It's good fun though :D

Hey! Thanks for watching. Have a look at the description, I think it addresses your concern somewhere in there. Didn't get chance to talk about it in the video, but basically I would play like that, observing others and then when the game was about to be lost I'd start playing properly.

it's endearing seeing newbies getting to grips with ranked doing this stuff because, you know... new guys learning the ropes. it's not so endearing when you're like in the b+/early A ranks and see people who were obviously carried up the ranks by their friends doing it >_>
True. B Rank and it feels like no one knows how to properly Tower Control sometimes. Fun Tip: SWIM WHILE HOLDING THE RAINMAKER! JUST RUSH IT! IF YOU CAN GET IT JUST A BIT FARTHER, THEN JUST DO IT!!!!

AT LEAST YOU SWIM WITH THE RAINMAKER! I THINK I MIGHT BE STUCK WITH SEMI-NOOBS AT B RANK HERE! Like no one ever rides the tower but me sometimes. I literally shut my Wii U off to quit a battle once. It was ridiculous that no one would ride the tower... I miss Splat Zones... It has been so long... My Jonny (Areospray RG) misses Blackbelly Skatepark... He isn't the youngest brother anymore!!!
I'm tempted to try a rainmaker match with a tonne of run speed/swim speed subs and mains and just, sonic my way to victory xD

I'd be more worried about being really bad with the rainmaker and just dying a bunch before I could really use my ability. >vo
I don't ride the Tower only because you are bound to die whilst on it. I always go ahead of the tower to get rid of the enemy team. That helps because it gives you more time on the tower and benefits my k/d difference.
I'm in splatoon 2 c rank and thank god its nothing like this.

My Team: *at the base, inking all of the turf*
Me: ... I'm way to skilled for B-.
Haha yeah. You've hit the nail on the head there: If you can pick up the rainmaker AND know where it's supposed to go, you're too skilled for B- ;)
And then they spam Nice at me, because I lost it. TwT I rarely get good teams. :v 50 % of the time someone disconnects ... I only had 1 Disconnect, and that was during the final Splatfest. ewe Polygon George
