If you are making a blanket with the full hexagons following my hexagon tutorial, you will need the half hexagons to fill in the sides of the blanket. Note that a blanket made with hexagons does not have straight sides. Tho parallel sides will look like a zig zag and the other two sides will not look l like a zigzag. For the blanket to look straight on two of the parallel sides, this half hexagon will fill in the gaps of those two sides. The other two sides will stay as a zigzag.
