My husband says we are “hobby” gardeners because we couldn’t live on what we grow. 🥺🥺🥺. But I say every little bit counts! And thank the Lord we live in a time that we don’t have to count only on what we grow.

I second that lol as we would struggle this year lol

Every little bit definitely counts, even being able to to your window or patio and pick the herbs you need for a meal really makes you feel that little more able. And everything you grow and store is one less item you need to go to the shops for.

Yes I’m shocked that it wasn’t too bad in the end considering the blight come about July!

Oh dear, you are the first I've seen with blight bad enough to rip them out. I bet that the structure behind the tomatoes did not help as it would hinder the airflow.
As you say, every year is different so maybe start spraying earlier in 2024?

I think you are so right! I didn’t think of that! I think I’ll have to spray them earlier next year! Never this bad!

I'm in South London, and feel like summer is just starting! The tomatos are ripening faster and I've harvesting every few days but I know the dehydrator will be on solidly for the next fortnight. Very different from last year, but because everything has come at once, instead of steadily throughout the summer, it feels like quite a good harvest. Only my third year gardeninig but definitely my most productive.

We have been having 31 degrees for 4 days it’s awful today can’t move hardly. I sweating but I never sweat. It could be quite dangerous this heat. Anyway be careful you don’t work in the heat👍

Great video, 1st time viewer to your channel here (yes i've hit the subscribe button to the channel to keep tabs on your progress). I often find to quicken ripening to put a few banana skins on the trestling or if i've harvested the tomatoes put them in a bowl for a few days next to a banana. Got to try dried / powdered tomatoes.
