I love that they didn't tell Donald that Scrooge faked his death!! You can see his relief as he faints! XD
That also proves how much he cares deeply about his uncle. No matter how much they fight with each other.
A couple of observations:
1. Scrooge McDuck has finally gone full "Lesson Zero" on us.
2. Apparently Scrooge's cane is a Swiss army knife of gadgets.
3. Glomgold having no respect for the dead is priceless!
Also: apparently DJ Khaled exists in the Ducktales universe.
Also him staring down a baby for an entire year
Justin Riley yeah 😆
Fernando David Páez Contreras who’s that?
@@gracekim25 The artist of the song that plays when Glomgold crashes Scrooge's funeral.
Not to mention they used "All I Do Is Win" for freaking Glomgold's entrance at Scrooge's fake funeral. Also that scene was _hilariously_ inappropriate lol. One of the best Glomgold scenes. They also forgot to tell Donald it was all fake. Man, poor Donald he's been having rough these past few episodes.
This episode is witty, manic, unpredictable, and has an amazing pay off.
“Et tu, headless man horse” has to be one of the greatest lines in animation history
GLOMGOLD who TWERK on Scrooge's COFFIN is the funnyest thing i've never imagined to see.
Seriously, why no one's talking about this ?
(And poor Donald. I really understand why he is so stressed on the next episode.)
"Owlson! Help me up onto his casket so I can dance on it! AHAHAHAHA!"
I love the callback to the guy dancing on Scrooge's coffin in the 1970 musical SCROOGE.
Nobody told him scrooges faked his death. Plus all of the character development between the two basically his concern for scrooges especially since lost his sister now he thinks he lost scrooge.
@@samuraiforever9120 Yeah. Donald seems really affect by Scrooge's death. He cryes a lot, scream "Oh no ! He was to young !" and run away.
It's quite sad in a way. :/
Made better with
1. Launhpad glaring at him. This is Launchpad, let that sink in.
2. Lil Bulb shaking him fist at him and Louie copying him, which I thought was cute.
I particularly enjoyed this episode as well. Its plot is unpredictable and probably ridiculously hard to figure out on one's own, but it's so zany that's not a problem at all.
Also, I never knew I needed to see Zan Owlson back so badly. She's such a perfect foil to the Glomgold with his bizarre scheming mind. The more I see of her, the more I enjoy her character.
I was just amazed that they used a real licensed song in this episode. That's something that you rarely see in animation outside of the montage loving Simpsons episodes.
That was the thing that surprised me the most lol. I was like: Wh- wait. Is that- it _is!_ WTF?!
Well, I think it does it make sense that they will put real life songs in the Simpsons because the Simpsons is a bit more of an adult sitcom cartoon. Ducktales, on the other hand, is a KID'S cartoon. So of course how can we NOT be surprised by this? With the only exception of SVTFOE, I never in my life have I heard a real life song in a kids cartoon. Only cartoons that are made adults and that's mostly it.
The Simpsons has the budget to do so, and frankly, much as I love those guys, they basically use it for lazy montages. Children's TV cartoons don't have the money and use sond-a-likes. We Bare Bears, for example. There was a time in the 80's where certain DIC produced shows used real world music, but that bit them on the butt when it came to reruns and home video. And I think even then, that's because Saban had connections he used since Kidd Video.
Only other current cartoons I can think of that used real world songs were Regular Show and those two times in Adventure Time. I loved seeing Pops sing Footloose during a barroom brawl.
fun fact: from what i’ve heard they put that song in as a joke. but the creators loved it so much that they licensed the song!’
In my opinion, this was one of the most hilarious, unexpected and awsome episodes of the show, Glomgold dancing on Scrooge's coffin, all the characters of the team together to help scrooge, all the "stop time" stuff, I FREAKING LOVE IT!!!! One of my favs of the season 2
I can’t believe Scrooge dies in Endgame because of Gold Fever
Love your comment xD
Can you imagine if something like that happens though, like they go get Captain Marvel and they’re like, whoops she died of malaria.
XPool It was actually fake in this episode, but it did almost bring Scrooge and El Capitan to their deaths in Golden Lava in the last part of the premiere to the original series.
I know. I’ve seen the episode
Mrs beakly I dont feel so good
Really really really really can’t wait for you to review the Della episodes.
You’re gonna love them if you haven’t seen them.
Cassidy Faith he’s gonna cry in the next reaction.
when i read the synopsis on disney wiki i thought this was going to be a terrible episode,i was wrong, this is probably one of the most clever episode with my favorite glomgold line “your alive, and a horse”, and will donald as small roles they are wonderfull.
glomgold said "YOUR ALIVE? AS A HORSE?"
Dat Gaming Shark okay still a great line
@@detectivewobbuffet2778 i agree it was a pretty funny line
I like Zan's new role as a long-suffering "assistant" (for lack of a better term) to Golmgold.
Technically Owlson is Glomgold's boss as she took over the company while he had amnesia. So really, it's more business babysitter than anything.
My faveortie part is when goldgold walks in and the song plays, XD
Eeveegirl1334 same.🤣🤣🤣🤣
*glomgold
He can do more than count th money, the instant he picks it up he remembers, for want of a better word, the coin's life story. Everything he did to get it and all the relevant experiences..... so every coin in the bin is a precious part of his life, hence his reluctance to part with them. In the old comics he once let the nephews take coins on a case by case basis JUST ONCE after letting him check them..... and nearly had a meltdown when they accodentally took the one he got from golide.
So when he was emptying the bin to save della......

Glomgold's the best, this episode proves it.
I also like how we KNOW Scrooge is crazy because while him obsessing over a few missing cents is in-character, him offering a HUGE monetary reward in exchange for the capture of the thief isn't.
You thought it was Glomgold, but it was me....Dio!
Scrooge: "Omae wa... mou shindeiru."
Glomgold is such a delight in this episode. He just takes everything he does to insane levels without letting shame or common sense bother him one single bit.
I also really enjoyed this episode.
Not only did gold fever come back (and was ridiculed by turning out to be a fake disease (reminds me of the Nostalgia Critic's joke about it in his original DuckTales review)), but also the time stopping watch from the original series episode "Time Teasers". Glomgold was also very entertaining and the resolution was a blast.
I loved this episode! I honestly thought Scrooge was crazy until the end, and Glomgold was hilarious when he came to the fake funeral
You neglected the shot of Donald testing Gyros later gate. It mirrors a shot from the original opening.
Neglect is a bit of a strong word.
@@seaniccus Overlooked?
Thank you so much for doing this, man! You're a trooper! I wish the release schedule wasn't so insane.
ducktals predict 2020
Well funny story about those masks...
Thanks to the whole story arc of season 3
And knowing the secret about the buzzards.
The fact that they are also gritting their teeth at Glomgold as he tries to literally dance on Scrooges coffin.
It just has an interesting idea that even they find that sort of action distasteful.
I was surprised by the musical choice in this episode and the ultimate tie-up with the ORIGINAL Ducktales animated series in this episode. Truly amazed and clever with how they pulled off that.
I watched this with the BF and daughter. We loved the pay off and callback from the original 80's cartoon. Then had to explain the watch and time tub to my daughter.
Can't wait to see you tackle the episodes with Della. Nice video.
Kayle Mathew Comendador Me too, the Della Duck episodes are sooo heartwarming.
This episode was a hoot and a giggle. The only thing missing was a line of Scrooge's rivals queuing up to dance on his grave. Fav scene Donald's duck blur.
Scrooge got corona
The device used by Glomgold to freeze time was also featured in an episode of the original series, all done to take over as Richest Duck in the world, who’d have seen that coming. It’s a pity we didn’t get to see Glomgold swimming in his own money bin in the original series, but it could appear in a later episode of the reboot, same said for Doofus Drake’s money to swim in.
Everyone wearing face masks hitting to close to home in 2020
Donald walking face first into the security measure forcefield is a direct reference to the 1987 animated scene in the intro at the “It’s a duck blur” song line, down to Gyro being alongside the duck that runs into said forcefield, which is Scrooge in the 87 theme
THANK YOU! I was just digging into this comment section to see if anyone else caught that. They have several other visual nods to the original intro as well (like Scrooge and Ma Beagle climbing to the lamp). I can't help but think that it's a jab at the old joke that none of the original intro scenes actually appear in the show. A part of me hopes that they do as many callbacks to that as they can until you can practically recreate the original intro with the modern scenes.
Spencer McClure YES YES god I would love that, that would be like a little cherry on top of this reimagining of a series
Personally I'm just soooo Happy Darkwing finally got his own episode!
I'm sorry the Glumgold moments were pure gold! Bad pun, I know, but this was some of his top moments! --And it always will be! Bwahahaha!
The string on the vision board even looks like him dressed in the devil suit
I had a feeling that this was going to be a classic "sick" episode, and I knew Scrooge would be too stubborn to admit that he's sick, but did anyone really buy that he died in this episode? He's Scrooge McDuck!
I don't think ANYONE bought that Scrooge was dead. Probably why they made the Glumgold entrance so memorable to distract from it.
Another subtle reference is amount stolen 87 cents which is a reference to original 1987 airdate of ducktales. One weird thing I wondered was didn't they have a scene where Fenton counts the money he was expert at mathematics and counting in the original version. Sure the vultures serve as scrooges accountants but it would have been cool to see Fenton count the gold like he did in liquid assets.
This episode is my favorite I can quote lines like “87 CENTS!”
Or “nothing, everything’s fine”
Or “owlson, help me up on to his casket so I can dance on it!”
Or “are you okay you seem well the opposite of sane”
As you can tell I love this episode
Best thing of the episode Glomgold dancing
Am I the only one surprised that the episode played part of DJ Khaled's "All I Do is Win" song?
Great to see that you finally did a review on this episode.
Now wait to you see the next episodes if you haven't seen it yet. I'm not going to give out spoilers but all I can say that the next episodes is going to be about Della.
it was a fun Ep to watch.
now i am looking forward to many more.
Scrooge's sixth sense about his money reminded me of an episode of WINGS* when a new female character was added to the show (for a while anyway) and accidentally revealed she'd posed for an issue of PLAYBOY. Said issue is sneaked out of the collection kept by the show's ne'er-do-well character, who of course automatically senses that one's gone missing ("The same way a mother knows when her child is sick, you just know").
*Good lord, I'm old.
1:18 Major Plot twist: Glomgold cares more about Treasure then Employees, to the extent of abandoning his temporary employees from the start of the series at Atlantis and never having had the Beagle Boys work for him, but later on he has his own CEO with a name based off Suzanna Olson.
latest episode is awesome and it fulfills a promise made at the first season! I am excited to see where this goes!
btw I use DisneyNow and 9 new episodes total!
Sean have you seen Nothing Can Stop Della Duck 🦆 That one is a tearjerker for sure 😭😭 But in a happy way Great Video as always Ducktales WOO-OO 💰🦆💰😉👍🏻
EVERYONE needs to watch this episode for sole reason of watching Glomgold TWERKING to DJ Khalid's All I Do Is Win! It is everything I never knew I needed in life
Also to know the Stopwatch Flintheart got, is also from a Scrooge comic story by Don Rosa.
1987 duck tales reference, 87 cent solution
Glomgold is lucky that Donald left just before he showed up
“GOLD! GOLD! GOLD!!!”
I feel sorry for Suzanne Olson having to put up with a boss like Glomgold. Also *spoilers for the episode ahead* she and everyone else was frozen in time for a year by Glomgold as well which is insane and makes me think how that must've affected Della on the moon.
Glomgold is the perfect suspect
Because 1.He’s an insane person
2.He hates Scrooge
3.He’s already in the money bin
Glomgold:NOT ANYMORE!(Glomgold run’s out of the money bin
I love this episode it’s one of my favourites of season 2. If I had to say what I want to see in the series, I want a little more time spent with Lena and seeing what she got up to in the shadow lands until she gets saved.
I want to binge watch this show! XD
Glomgold has no respect for the dead. Also, you got to admit that its pretty amazing there was a twist within a twist in this. Off note, just noticed the news lady and the vultures at Scrooge's funeral.
He's getting closer to the Della episodes AHHHh
Ok this was the best scheme glom gold ever made. The only reason it failed was because he didn’t have strong enough glue
Ha! I didn't notice it before, but Scrooge made the face of the Imp that he says is messing with him on the Board out of red string.
SPOILERS AHEAD

I think the biggest idiot ball Glomgold had was he believed the news report that Scrooge had died of Gold Fever... despite the fact that he created Gold Fever to begin with. Being crowned the richest duck in the world, sure, but Scrooge's death should have thrown up a few warning signs.
This episode has pretty much shown everything about this version of ducktales.
yea, i had to immediately rewatch this one...great twist
Is anyone else wondering if they chose the number 87 as a reference to the original DuckTales Cartoon, which premiered in 1987?
DarkMasterofCupcakes Quite right, 87 is pretty much the lucky number to Scrooge and everyone else in Duckburg.
Every time he says Glomgold like Glumgold
Me:rrreeeeEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
This was one of my personal favorite episodes.
This was the BEST episode of the show. I mean, they were all pretty epic, but this was my favourite.
In this essay, I will...
(Ten likes and I will write the essay)
I thought the twist was going to be that Scrooge was right. Glad they took it another direction.
So you could say that Seaniccus is giving his 87¢?
This is a 'giving 2¢' joke, sorry if it's not funny.
My battery is at 87 right now while I’m typing this
Miss Owlen really has a hard job.
No mention of all the Sherlock Holmes refrences?
Try listening to all I do is win without thinking of this episode. I dare you.
It’s Bloody covid
I really didn’t like them making Gold Fever a hoax. Scrooge’s tendency to be overzealous towards seeking treasure was always one of his more interesting maladies. It introduced a level of nuance that you don’t often see in kids cartoons. Seeking after fortune and treasure is good, in moderation. But when you become ravenous for treasure that becomes a problem and you get gold fever.
It was really good for kids. Introduced the complexities of ambition, that greed vs ambition can be difficult to nail down and that it’s not as simple as “wealth bad. Poverty good or “poverty bad wealth good.”
New duck tales kinda tosses a lot of that out by making gold fever fake. It’s one of Scrooge’s most iconic and character defining shortcomings.
That t-shirt is awesome!
Great video buddy
I remember the time teeser from the original
Just .87... Just .87 cent... Actually I am not surprised.
4:38 motercycle go brrrrr
But why Donald why is he tested on
I was convinced Gold fever was real
I cant wait til you get to the della and darkwing eps loloo
First aparantly... why is this exhilarating for some people again?
4:39 wtf that sound!!!
TOMORROW’S EPISODE IS THE DARKWING EPISODE
i think glomgold twerked on scrooge’s casket -
I actually believed Scrooge died
“The 87 cent solution sounds like an alt-right racist thing” -gf
