I have seen people criticizing Sabaton, that they are glorifying war. I do not think they do that. They make songs of historical moments, we can all learn from that. Great reaction, love to Sabaton ❤
During an interview, or in an article, Chris Rörland mentioned playing the intro to Joakim, who said it sounded too 80s. Then Joakim asked to hear it again, and now that intro is in the song. At the Portland concert in Sept. 2022, there is a video of Hannes the drummer asking the crowd if they want to hear more heavy metal. "Yeahhhh!" The crowd yells. Then Hannes says, "Sorry, the next song is disco." So people make some "no" noises. But as soon as the song started, it sounded great:)
the line about the ice and snow that bind them to the mountains is talking also about the corpses that are still on those mountains because they are literally frozen under the ice that fell over them
The philosopher Ludwig Wittgenstein who was at the time one of the richest men in Europe served in the Austrian army in the Alps and wrote one of his greatest books while he was serving in misery in the Alps. Fortunately he survived the war and published his Tractatus Logico-Philosophicus in the early twenties.
My fellow Swedes Sabaton makes me proud every time, They never miss with their songs and videos. And no matter what nation and what flag you keep closest to your heart you can relate and feel for these heroes that has given everything for what they belived in. And these stories is what Sabaton does so well, They help us to remember the heroes of the past with their awesome music and videos. Great reaction again man! Love from Sweden! 💙💛💙
High above in the ALPS close to heaven, in the most extreme circumstances, men fought and protected the borders during WWI. "Soldier of Heaven" tells the story of those brave soldiers who froze to death, whose bodies still remain under the snow… till today. Soldiers! You can't now rest in Peace ✌🏽 ✨Sabaton ✨ have now brought your story in to the light , for the World to see 🕊️
To this day, there are several thousand soldiers on eternal guard in the Alps. The most deadly enemy was frost and avalanches. 150,000-180,000 people died, including 60,000 killed in avalanches.
As much as a meat grinder Western & Eastern Fronts of WW1 were, we don't hear much abt the horrible Italian Front. I was in Iraq. Snow & mountains NOT for me. Being that hi in mountains, unable to effectively dig in cuz of rocky terrain & extreme cold. At times, nxt to impossible to re-supply or re-enforce. The work to get munitions up to positions in those conditions. Artillery & Machine Gun fire causing Avalanches to come down on your line. Unreal. What a thankless theater of war. Soldiers & Sailors who fought WW1 & WW2 were the real deal. As a former Navy Seabee, I'd hv loved to ride shot-gun w/the Bees of WW2. Sabaton is NOT abt glorifying War. They teach what most didn't learn in school. In times we live in, "Lest We Forget" has nvr bn so important. Tx for your service in the Army Bro. Today is Dec 9 & the Army/Navy game - Gotta say GO NAVY !
The first Part of the song you mentioned is still a thing. Since the Climate is getting warmer and warmer, more and more of the bodies that were never found or recovered come back to the surface every year
I have not ever served in the military. Most of my older male relatives did (even my maternal grandmother served on an anti aircraft gun in case of Japanese invasion.) They way my WWII veteran great uncles talked (and acted) about the war made me realise from an early age that war was something awful, that I would never understand it, and the importance of remembering the sacrifice of all those who didn't come home. I had an older cousin (who I am told I would have liked) who was killed before I was born in Vietnam. From about 2006 - 2011 I was involved with my local Airsoft club. (In official British Army parlance, I was an "Airsoft Mong.") This club had about a third of it's members who were veterans and our usual involvement was MILSIM 24 hour games at Army bases with FIBUA villages (I think the Yanks call it MOUT.) The veterans described it as like being on excercise but purely for fun. Our veterans included a former Para, a former member of a field artillery battery permanently assigned to the Royal Marines, even though he was in the Army he had qualified as a Commando and earned his Green Beret. (He was weird, he spoke funny: he said things like "Yomped" where a normal human being would say "Tabbed". We even had a guy who had served in the French Foreign Legion. Being around these guys respect for their comrades was unspoken but palpable. All of them were nice guys. All of them were good citizens. All of them were willing to sacrifice for other people. I was proud to know them, even socially. Good on Sabaton for seeing what kind of people made such sacrifices, and remembering them.
Great vocals and very catchy melody and riffs. Those explosions behind the band created great effects in that video, and that message at the end is touching.
Tommy did this in his Disneyton series to the tune of the Lion King ' Can You Feel the Love Tonight.' He said there won't be any more disney tunes. 'Don't mess with the Mouse'😮
The Mouse would have welcomed more of Tommy's Disney toons. It's the new guys who get bent out of shape when they see and hear real talent. It's sour grapes.
sabaton is telling thhe history of war over the world past and present so just think about what they are singing about!! just think of what is going on now thru the world!! do we want to go thru this again? notyvm!!!
One of the songs that made me a big Sabaton fan 🤘 Sure I've heard them before. In Sweden it's nearly strange if you haven't heard of Sabaton 😅 Now I love them 💥🤘 Buy the way, why is it only men's stuff in the store? 😉
Many of their videos are better produced & directed than what Hollywood produces in recent years & based on reality in human history not faking the truth from their source material and spreading lies

IMHO, stupid critics. They search for historical fact about warfare and make a song of it.
No glorifying what so ever.
I doubt that the critics have even listened to one of their songs. Anyone who has listened to "The Price of a Mile" would never say they glorify war.
@@alancarter41 or the final solution
Or even the cover of 1916, that one makes me sob like a child.
People are stupid. They’re remembering all these people who died senselessly when they otherwise probably would be forgotten by most.

Kids would know more of the history of war if history classes played Sabaton in school.
I love this song. It's horrifying to think of all those soldiers who still remains there frozen.

sabaton do not gloryfie war, they pick parts of history we cant forget, people we cant forget, storys we cant forget
This is one of my favorites of Sabaton's. That old techno or whatever sound that runs through it is fantastic and Joakim tells the story so well.

Sabaton must be the only rock band who could win a Pulitzer prize. Brilliant as ever.
I think they won the educator of the year award 1-2 years ago
Every song is an anthem sing along!
100%
Sabaton are the best way to learn history 😉
Their songs should be played in history classes!

I love Sabaton, but my broadcast is called Attero Dominatus for their song. Love Sabaton.
This band is so newfound for me but I am forever indebted to them for bringing the history to life. Beautifully done! Thanks Daniel.
I requested for this song to be played at my wake.
I've since added the Fan Project of Last Ride of the Day by Nightwish ft Dan Vasc.

A Great song, history lesson for us all, yet could be applicable to many who fought in wars, a Tribute to these great men.
happy weekend

Thanks for this one !!
May I recomend their song ’Seven pilars of wisdom ’
It’s one of their best in my opinion 💪🏼😎

Sabaton's 1916; I can't see how anyone could see it as a glorification of war. Just sayin'.
Check the video again air plan from ww1.and then ww2.unkiling solder.🇸🇪🇫🇮💪
