Erik won Swedish Idol in 2009 where he auditioned with Skid Row's 18 & Life (it'll be relevant later 🤭) and won with Higher (which rock version you can find on his channel).
In 2010 he joined Swedish rock band H.e.a.t where he replaced original singer Kenny (who later replaced him, hihi) and performed on Adress the Nation (2012), Tearing Down The Walls (2014), Into the Great Unknown (2017) and H.e.a.t II (2020). Worth mentioning is that in 2018 he played Simon Zealotes in Jesus Christ Superstar. In 2020 he left the band to focus on other stuff. He joined his buddy & former bandmate Jona Tee, keyboardist in H.e.a.t, in New Horizon. But in 2021, he was diagnosed with leukemia which certainly was life-changing experience for him. During the treatments he started his RUclips channel because he promised to himself if he gets out of the hospital alive he'll sing for the rest of his life. And sing he did! New Horizon released a debut album Gate of Gods (2022) and the same year, only couple of months after his treatment, he joined Skid Row as their new singer. He released an album with them The Gang's All Here and played a lot of shows with them. All the while he kept releasing covers with many awesome badass musicians. In 2023, he released Eriksplanations Vol. 1 vinyl with some of his covers released until then. Finally, we come onto this year - his busy schedule made him unable to record new New Horizon so Jona teamed up with Nils Molin (yep, of Dynazty & Amaranthe) to bring it to life (it comes out in June) and Erik left the band. He also left Skid Row in March because he wasn't able to balance his full recovery and being in Skid Row. There's his sentence that stuck with me - "Always remember that no job, no money, no fame is worth your health and well-being. Health first. Always." He has autobiography on the way in September (only in Swedish, for now) called Power.
Beside music, he enjoys martial arts & books.
I whole heartedly recommend checking out H.e.a.t, New Horizon & Erik's album with Skid Row ❤️
Speaking of his covers, his first was Headless Cross. Mindblowing if you keep in mind he was still going through treatments.

@IvanaMedovka -- That was wonderful! I told quite a bit of that story (but not as much in detail) to another reactor just a few days ago. The only thing that I added was that if you take a look back through Erik's YT channel, starting with his oldest videos, you can see the changes in his physique and especially his face that have taken place throughout all of the last few years, and how much better he looks in THIS video. I agree with everything you've "spoken" here about him. It's exactly the way I have perceived him, as well.
I was SO happy to see him come out with this song. It's utterly perfect for him, I don't know how many times I've listened to him and watched him in this video. It will remain a favorite for me, for all time. 😀

And I will say, “No Erik doesn’t get this idea from Dan Vasc”. Erik has done “Breaking the Silence” with Dan Vasc and it’s basically Erik’s song, because he singing it when he was in H.e.a.t as lead singer. So it’s a cover for Dan Vasc, not for Erik.
This is Eriks Goodbye-friendship-love-song to “Skid Row” I will say. He loves those guys, but his health wasn’t worth joining the band longer. Sadly… But I know exactly what he means, because I’m sick my own. My body isn’t okay after lots of accidents.
But we leaving that for now.
And this was why Dolly Parton wrote this song. She wrote it to her friends in that band she was in. But when they broke up, she felt like this way and wrote it as a Friendship-love-song.💞🎶💞

If no one has mentioned it already - Dan and Erik did a collaboration together of "Breaking the Silence" It's awesome - check it out! Amazing that Erik went through chemotherapy and came through his battle with flying colors and his voice still intact.

I agree! Erik and Dan already have, and Erik and Tommy already have. I have a feeling that Tommy would really love to become a temporary trio with both Erik and Dan. There are so many ways that all three can CARRY the music, and it would be totally AWESOME to see and hear all three of them together.

Erik did such a wonderful job singing this song his way. Dolly has been special to me for a long time because of her song writing, singing and all the times she has been just such a great person. This song she wrote and was the first to record. And then came Whitney recording this for the Bodyguard movie.

Next, welcome to Erik Gronwell. Many others have commented about him, his accomplishments, and his amazing skills. I've had an enjoyable time learning about who he is ... followed the trail from Dan Vasc that led to Erik. He truly is an amazingly skilled musician and I hope you will search him out some more.
Finally, you had me with the saxophone! That instrument will touch my senses more than any other. There are tones that it produces that are so haunting and beautiful. Love it!!

I liked the song, how he arranged it, and how he sang it, but his throat showed a lot of tension when he was singing. That tension puts strain on his vocal cords. If you look at Dan Vasc for example, watch his throat, you will rarely see that sort of strain around his throat. He'll strain the muscles around his throat but the throat is almost always relaxed and he has a 4 octave range. That's the difference years of training makes. This guy sounds great now. I just worry about his longevity.
To the maker of this video i have a request. Here is my request: Could you please do a comparison video of who sang it best between Erik Gronwall singing his cover version of I will always love you Live Streamed on Apr 19, 2024 versus Judika also singing his cover version of I will always love you Live at a wedding at Balai Samudera on December 21, 2017. In this video after listening to both performaces one after the other i would love for you to share your opinion as to which of these two singers sang this song the best and why( Judika or Erik Gronwall).This should be a showstopper.

Sorry, but a man with such a light voice like Erik has, singing those high notes so softly is really not for me - i love Erik, when he sings rock - so until he put the rockgrit into it, it's a big NO for me, especially with this song, which easily becomes very weapy, and thank God he went for the grit on that last note - going for a clean falsetto on that last 'love you' would have been cringy.
