    Lyrics:
    Walking by the river I
Reach my hands to cup the sky
Run down my arms a bitter blue
Turn to red and the gashes grew
    The river taste me
I'm so much more than I have ever been
    Oh, oh, oh, oh
    Take this my arms
    Take this my eyes
    Take this my mouth
And all it says to be
    Completely true
    Oh, oh, oh, oh...yeah
    Walking by the river I
Reach my hands to cup the sky
Run down my arms a bitter blue
Turn to red and the gashes grew
    The river taste me
I'm so much more than I have ever been
    oh, oh, oh

They don’t play the sings like this anymore. Yet once upon a time it was magical and surreal ❤️💫✨

I could listen to this all day just to hear Roi. There's so much soul in that sax.

Run down my arms, a bitter blue. Turn to red, and the gashes grew.

25 years of being a DMB fan and only just found this amazing tune. One question, how can this great song not still be a regular go to on DMB concert playlists? So much layering, it would be amazing to have Buddy, Tim, Jeff and Rashawn riff through this tune in some extended jam. Why is this great song not played any more?

They’ve played it actually. Not regularly as you mentioned though. Live tracks 30:8-18-93 is amazing

@@jimdombrowski2435 i believe they don't play it because of the theme of the song (suicide)

Well, youtube is being lame. I can't post a URL to an external site. Go to dreamingtree and find it from there. The show ID is 8626.

Thats why he won't play this but once in a blue moon. Its got to be hard for him to play a song he wrote about suicide.

Hi tmk1314. This particular recording has an interesting past. First, you can learn more at this site - A dmb tape trading site:
RUclips wont let me post URL... I'll post it on your profile
This was a direct sound board recording of a show played by dmb when they were still a tiny band from Charlottesville trying to get a break. It's from a show played at the cafeteria of salem college, an all girls school, in front of about 50 people. I highly recommend listening to this "lost" show.
