Livigno Is the holder of the title The Best Ski Resort in the World in 2018 and 2019 .
It's first settlers were probably shepherds during the middle ages .
Livigno's economy is based on tourism ,both in winter and in summer , and on its Duty Free status ,with goods sold at bargain price .
Since skiing is the main sport in this town , it's not surprising that so many famous Italian skiers came from Livigno .
This town is definitely a fun place for winter sports and for summer mountain sports !
Livigno ( altitudine 1816m ) è un comune italiano della provincia di Sondrio , è il più settentrionale e il più esteso comune della Lombardia .
Zona extra doganale fa parte della Comunità Montana Alta Valtellina ed è una stazione turistica invernale ed estiva delle Alpi .
Il nome di Livigno compare per la prima volta in un documento redatto nel 1187.
Nel ' 600- 700 in diversi momenti gli abitanti riuscirono a ottenere e mantenere diverse forme dei dazi , sui sentieri di percorrenza e sulle fonti d'acquisto . Nel 1797 ,con la riorganizzazione dei terreni di Bormio sotto la Repubblica Cisalpina , Livigno diviene comune .
