    Very impressive by the Graphene OS team to pump out this so quickly.

    • @trollerjakthetrollinggod-e7761
      @trollerjakthetrollinggod-e7761 Год назад +3

      They have said that Pixel firmware is fairly similar to each other, so it's possible that it would be fairly easy to modify code from device to device.
      Even still, most other OSes are slow to pump out in comparison and don't compete with their update speeds.

    Google should thank GrapheneOS and CalyxOS projects as they're driving sales. We don't even have Pixels sold in our country by Google but people still import them just to use them with these 2 OSes!

    i was hoping (dare i say assumed) graphene os would release an os version for the pixel tablet. unbelievably excited this came to fruition! i have no choice, but to buy one now. also, i was hopeful that *if* graphene os had a release then you would do a review. thank you!

      Sounds like all your wishes came true, haha. I figured they would release a version for the tablet since everything was looking good from a hardware perspective, but you never know until the device is actually released. I was super excited when I saw the initial build was ready.

      I don't think it natively supported it, but I was able to make it work with a displaylink dock and the app. The leaks of the Pixel 8 show that it should have a native DisplayPort which would be great if that happens. I'm guessing that would be incorporated on the 2nd gen table.

    For "laptop use" I have already gotten myself a Steam Deck, to double as one (kitted out with foldable keyboard, dock, etc.). But if wouldn't have gotten a Framework laptop instead, this looks like a pretty good alternative for on-the-go considering the price.

    With this size form factor, would be cool if you could resize windows to whatever you want and have windows side by side, etc. One of the reasons why I don't do real work on a phone. And this is why I see tablets as just a giant phone despite it not having cell service.

Is the OS just like a bigger Phone OS or are there some adjustments to make it more tablet like?
    Does using a custom keyboard fix the fact that the standard keyboard is too big?
    Are there other things to consider or should I just get an IPad and call it a day?

      It's a dbrand skin. The phone in the video is my testing phone, so it just sits on my desk. I wouldn't really trust the skin for something in my pocket all day that could be easily dropped. If you're someone who doesn't use a case normally, I would recommend it. But if you're used to the protection a case offers, the skin isn't even close. That being said, I do have a dbrand skin for my laptop and I really like it.
