  • The Taus instrument is a bowed instrument that originated from Punjab, India. Taus is the Persian word given by its crafter Guru Gobind Singh Ji, which translates as 'peacock'.
The smaller version of this instrument is known as the Dilruba and is the easiest instrument to play and one we highly recommend to beginners as they absolutely fall in love with the sound and the feeling of holding it.

This drum is known as the "Jori" which means "pair", you'll see it in this video: ruclips.net/video/bM-zQiYkk5g/видео.htmlsi=tSjR2BNBOk_JekTw Great to hear you enjoyed it, the Jori is accompanied with many of the live Kirtan recordings, we agree in this video the sound is more clearer and uplifting with the timing the sound is introduced. We will look into more videos with the Jori to share with you in due course. ☺🙏
