Humility and gratitude goes hand in hand . Had Elaine reflected and considered her successes as probably the second or the fastest woman in history, all because of one man, her former coach Mr. Steven Francis who clearly knows her flaws and how to manage her injuries.
Had she left publicizing her successes as a sprinter was the responsibility of one man, Mr Steven Francis as such displaying humility and gratitude. She would have had a chance of Mr. Francis accepting her back.
Nevertheless, she was cocky and unapologetic in stating her decision to leave (Mr Steven Francis) MVP track club. Regardless of her errors we Jamaicans want nothing but the best for her and are all still hopeful.

People let’s have an open mind and objective discussion about this. In life we all make choices and decisions that deep down we know was a mistake but we all have to live with it. Whatever it was she felt she had to move on and I respect that and so should we all. Most of us Jamaicans tend to be a bit outspoken and overbearing in our opinions and comments especially when it comes to Elaine because for some reason they gravitate towards Shelly and that’s ok but don’t chastise the woman with all your negative comments for being the woman she is. The only time most of you remember her is when a track meet is coming up otherwise she’s irrelevant to you instead show some love and respect affection and support because when she wins our colors fly high. The problem is these athletes get to a certain level and start listening to outside noise. They don't think they need coaching and they get to this level purely on talent; wrong answer. Most athletes who leave their coach for another, rarely ever get back to the level they were before.

Because he had not won a single medal except bronze individually. Yes, sub10 king, break world record, which can be broken, and money of course, but will he be seen as great, JET doesn't think so.

She had injuries acquired from MVP camp-- initially Frano learned how to mange so the damage was done at MVP. Secondly, mental health and stress from negative folks also impact athletic performance. Repeatedly blaming her husband.
Thirdly, the issue was that Elaine wasn’t thankful to the coach

Everybody has a right to express their opinion about any decision that any of our athletes make as long as criticism is not destructive and defamatory etc etc. We also know that some of our athletes are a bit thin skinned, but truth a truth. So Elaines decision to leave MVP is personal and her business. However, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to see that the she made a huge mistake leaving MVP irrespective of whatever financial issues or inconveniences were involved. As a soldier what you do is "tough it out" until youve accomplished the ultimate. Not to be disrespectful to anyone, but I do understand why ppl are so defensive in Elaine's favour. Let me explain. It is called LEGACY. Elaine was on the cusp of doing something that no woman has ever done. She was on track to accomplish something that may never be achieved in decades to come or ever at all. Win Olympics 100/200 back to back to back. Plus breaking the seemingly unbreakable 100m record. No woman in history has ever been so close to achieving these feats. This is what she walked away from. Having left MVP and with the success she had with Shanikie, she should have cemented that relationship. Big earners will always have big expenses because they only employ the best so they cannot afford to be penny wise and pound foolish. This is what happens with inexperience or when people who are unaccustomed to a lot of money suddenly themselves in the midst of it. They want to save EVERYTHING. No notion of reinvestment in self to generate even more money in the future. Sounds horrible but it really is true.
