We love travel days...when they go as planned. There's something about traversing through airports together, anticipating the new location, and not knowing what to expect. We use Amazon lockers, too! Happy Trails! John & Bev
I'm a full-time traveler and I agree with you,...not a fan of travel days. But once I get to the new location it's all worth it. Have to say your travel days look a lot like mine. And I also think the same thing when I'm packing everything up, that I have too much stuff. Crazy how we change our perspective once we embrace the minimalist mindset. Your adventures getting into the AirBnB were hilarious. With some apartments it does seem like running through an obstacle course sometimes. Thanks for sharing. Cheers!
I love the travel days. Lots of excitement and people watching. New experiences and challenges. Sometimes when I was still working we would go to the airport on a weekend just for a coffee and people watching. I don’t like packing up, but one thing I want to try is going with zero bags… Just a laptop, wallet, and phone. Buy tshirts etc on landing and throw in the trash when going to the next place. Wife likes her stuff though so a tough sell. Ha ha.
I live off grid on a boat, have been to Dubai and also toured around France and Spain but that is about it, I like the 'hiding' on my boat from society, I not lived in a house for many years, went from the road to the water and cannot see myself living in a 'house' again.
You should have driven from Melbourne to Brisbane and taken your time exploring. Best way to see australia. Never flight virgin Australia or jet star. Have a great time in Brisbane.
Travel days took on a whole new meaning when we got lounge access. It makes SUCH a difference to have that "break".... haha oh poor Sarah, I've never seen the "Greg's in oz before".
We pledge to be 110% nicer to each other on travel days. . . It usually works. ❤❤
I love the videos or pics you throw in. The music is great.
Not sure, why but this is one of my favorite videos of yours so far. 😊
If you are still in Brisbane, come out to the Redcliffe Peninsula for a look around. We moved up from Melbourne after 22 years there and so happy we did. The people here are friendly, chilled, polite and smile.
Great video..Great music too!
I love travel days once I am through security at the airport. Up until then it is stressful as you never know what the lines are going to be like, problems you may encounter etc. this of course assumes flights aren’t cancelled.
Hello both. "Greggs"😂. I love a good travel day,its so exciting unless im at the end of my holiday 😢. Hope you are both doing well.xx
We don’t mind travel days and one word of advice-Always always check flight status before you leave to the airport. We also have a pre-flight checklist to make sure we don’t leave anything behind after once leaving our passports in the hotel safe in Guadalajara Mexico. We are minimal travelers with only a carry on and a backpack.
So glad to see there is an Aldi !! They are a budget saver for travellers! None in canada though. Glad your aussie trip is going well. Travel days are a challenge for rv’ers too. Transition is a challenge. Thanks as always for the joy you share!😊
I adore travel…. Even hanging around an airport is good for me, as long as it has somewhere to sit (which is not always the case)… I just relax into the environment and trust that ill get there at some point… Just enjoy the moment…
Great video again guys, the bittersweet feeling of travel days. Tired, excited and bewildered at the same time.
GREGGS THE BAKER!! YUMMY 😋
Ugh, travel days! We're not traveling full-time yet but we try to take vacations as much as possible. We just got back from Paris (fantastic trip!) and had some very long stopovers in airports waiting for our flights. My husband had this offer for free passes to the American Airlines lounge so we decided to check it out, having never done a lounge before. OMG!! I'm so sold on lounges now and have become quite spoiled. We spent 8 hours in the London Heathrow lounge and it was great (as far as sitting in an airport for 8 hours goes). Also, we rented an AirBNB in Paris and the owner had sent us little video on how to check-in. Most helpful! It's nice to have these little bits of comfort on travel days. 🙂
The teases, the dramatic music, the Saratic Wisdom…can’t help but subscribe with notification on. My wife and I have been taking inspiration for well over a year now. Safe journey!
remember this. every day you get out of bed is a good day.
Love to know what the conversation had been on the table behind you at 15:19. If looks could kill!
Greggs!!!❤
Welcome to Brisvegas cobbers. Enjoy.
Brisbane is great. You’ll love it there, enjoy!😊
I get a bit jumpy/nervous on travel days , but generally I enjoy the feeling of moving on . Also, I cut my baggage down to a very small wheeled case .
Hi Sarah, Neil, I just got back from London. Was there for 10 days. Within first 3 days got sick and caught covid 🤣 Spent 3 further days in bed. Weather was dodgy: cold and wet. But Londoners were warm and so helpful. I came home to Toronto last night (3 airbnbs during 10 days) and was a 16 hr travel day. At almost 56 I don't know if my stamina has decreased due to covid and/or post cancer treatment but I'm exhausted! I slept most of today. Point is, I have massive respect for you guys doing this on a reg basis and for having been sick yourselves whilst traveling. It takes a huge amount out of ya. Compliments to you both and mad respect!
Yay for an Aldi! None in Mexico🙁
My first thing would be to put the kettle on for a cuppa🤣
Love it...Creative and Entertaining!
Great tip about the Amazon lockers - we are now travelling on Syros in Greece, but from Adelaide, The weather should be better for you in Brisbane. Perhaps you will get up to say Port Douglas during the winter or Cairns? Though that is the most costly time to visit so perhaps not?
I don’t like travel days either. Too much stress, even when things go right. One thing I learned when my daughter was small, that I still do, is to bring some snacks in my backpack. At least I can then keep us from getting hangry.
Oooooh! A cliff hanger on your Amazon packages! 🤣
Ugh. Travel days. Loved your raw experience putting it out there for us all to see. Travel days are not glamorous. I find that paying top dollar for a Platinum American Express is worth it. It gets me into travel lounges at airports around the world where you can get decent food and booze usually for no charge and, if you’re lucky, a comfy chair and some peace and quiet. I was okay with getting delayed by two hours in San Francisco earlier this week because I had a decent meal and a couple vodka-sodas and a quiet, semi private comfy chair. Not all lounges are created equal, some are crowded zoos. However, it’s overall worth the cost which I see more as a kind of insurance for inevitable travel delays at airports. This is how I deal with otherwise dreaded travel days.
Do come back to Malaysia. Eating nasi lemak, roti canai and enjoy the rest of the day. 😊
Happy travelling sir.
Hate travel days, Greggs is the answer 😀
I guess your flight was cancelled because the airline didn't have enough passengers on the first flight. This happened to me in Shanghai, flying to Hong Kong for the first time. A couple of hours later I flew, but the lost time was never regained as I arrived at The Chinese Embassy at lunchtime (yes, they close for lunch) and I had to join a long queue at 2pm to get into the building. It's a dirty airline trick. Best wishes from Bangkok.
When I started travelling in 2008 my 'motto' was taken from Edward Monkton's Zen Dog (in fact, my travel blog was called Travelling Zen Dog) -it goes 'He knows not where he's going, for the ocean will decide, it's not the destination, it's the journey of the ride'. I love travel days, but not particularly air travel, there is too much waiting around - I much prefer train travel
You guys will love Brisbane, it’s a great city.
I’m really tossing up getting the expensive AMEX card just to have the perks of the airport lounges. Do you guys use airport lounges on your travels?
Looks like Greggs to me.
... yeah, because I'm an overlander and only tolerate airports when all other option have been exhausted
The Secure logo reminds me of Greggs - is Sarah missing a steak bake?
The neat thing about travelling is seeing all you have roll up and get tucked into your two suitcases. Have you ever tried those vacum packs you put your underwear in one, pj's another, etc.etc So to begin with put all like things together. Fold or roll and vac pack, then suitcase pack. The only thing is the added weight of the vacu.m pump that might be a problem.
Wish we had have known you'd be in Brisbane. We live about 10 minutes away from where you were.
Hopefully bump into you somewhere else, we're leaving Australia at the end of the year to go off on our own adventure.
It looks as if you have gone back to large suitcases.
In your own words, don't you have too much stuff!!
Oh no, not a good way to end your time in Melbourne, but glad you got to Brisbane safely.
Please tell me the secure logo reminds you of Greggs. It does for me and my partner 😂
You got it in one! 😃
Hate travel days only because I'm not in control of the schedule. It's also so exhausting no matter how easy the day goes.
I don't like travel days because I always think of all the things that can go wrong that I can't control.
I dislike it even more since a lot has become automated and there's no humans to solve problems.
We are a few years away from slow travel as we just getting the kids through school, but started the process of selling lifelong possessions. Neil, as a fellow Numan fan, how hard was it to sell your Numan collection? I'm a big Numanoid too (also into electronic music making and originally from Brum) I've a big Numan collection too and I'm looking at thinking "can I really sell it?"
Was it Greggs?
Is that greggs?
Hope she picks up some razors for your face ;) hahaha
Your Music is Loud .
I hate travel days. Flying is legalized human torture!
