I went to a Lionel Richie concert at the Hollywood bowl. Show ended around 10:30pm (22:30), wasn't out until 11pm(23:00). I was soooo hungry. I was too tired to go to a restaurant EVEN if they were opened that late which I highly doubt. On the way back to our ride my girlfriend and I just smelled the delicious vegetables and hot dogs from a block away. I had one and she had one. A block later I bought another from a different vender! Honestly it was so delicious! Bacon wrapped and grilled veggies! It was easy to eat on the go! I wanna see when concerts will be at the holly wood bowl just so I can go have some hotdogs ! I won't even go to the show I'll just wait until the hotdog venders are out !
I love these. I always get them when I'm in downtown. I'm from LA. I think they're like $5-$10 for one with a drink depending on which side of LA you get them. If you go to the tourist places theyll be more. Like in Santa Monica, outside staples center, dodger stadium. Etc. Each stand has it's over style. The dressings and onions are a staple everywhere but you might find some places that add nopales (cactus), bell peppers, cilantro, tomatoes, avocados.

Internet 411 those are actually hotdogs started in mexico in the early 1900's my grandfather told me he used to eat them in the streets of sinaloa and was told they were more popular in sonora, I think the germans brought some of it when many migrated there, in the USA, I heard they had something similar in new york in the 40's, I lived in the City of Obregon in Sonora Mex and it is common to see several of these in every block , I live in tijuana now and every few blocks they have them not as good as Sonoras, they call the big ones DOGOS
This style of hot dog comes from the state of Sonora i believe. They are so popular they spread all over the place and eventually up north to the U.S. brought by mexicans. German and Polish immigrants that moved to the sinaloa and sonora regions of mexico like 100 years ago brought their food culture. That european/mexican combination resulted in the creation of this gem. And Banda music of course.

This vendor is a real pro. The color presentation of her food makes it very appetizing and I'm sure the meat smells great. Her food handling technique is on point. Notice how she never directly touches your food with her bare hands like other vendors.
The perfect clip to make someone, like me, want to go out and buy and eat one. I would want the 'soaked' bun experience and all 3 different types of 'squirt.' Not sure I could handle having so many options for a hot dog, though. You know? Last time, I got a hot dog in my area, was like 30 years ago. Never had a bad hot dog in my life. I bought 2 and it tasted like it was a hot dog in liquid that 'leeches' out all that good hot dog 'reality.' You gotta have the 'reality' thing OR it tastes like a tofu dog. What I particularly like about this woman's hot dog stand is how she uses the space. That's why eating in a cafeteria is highly underrated. Whenever I go to the hospital, I have money for a quick stop at the hospital cafeteria. Coffee is like 1.20 for a large. Cheaper if you're an employee or a volunteer.

So these vendors go out during big events. The food they make is usually *fresh* because they purchase it right before the events (they look like Costco beef dogs and buns to me). The stations they work on are clean (why would they risk losing the ability to make the little money they make?), and it only looks "dirty" at times because of the grease from the grilling of sausages and bacon - but in actuality it isn't dirty at all. *This is about as dirty as cooking at an outdoor BBQ.* I've had these a couple times - they're so damn good. Tip them - they need those tips more than you think they do!

That's saying a lot because I've had sausage, peppers, and onion on a roll in Italy at an F1 grand prix (and it was incredible!).

Magic Hot Dog Lady ! I was on my way out of a ball game one night at the Oakland coliseum and just about ready to get in my car when a lady showed up out of nowhere and asked me if I wanted a hot dog and I said sure. She broke out a grill and all the fixins right there on the spot. Best hot dog I ever had. I was blown away. Magic Hot Dog Lady lives !!

Magic Hot Dog Lady ! I was on my way out of a ball game one night at the Oakland coliseum and just about ready to get in my car when a lady showed up out of nowhere and asked me if I wanted a hot dog and I said sure. She broke out a grill and all the fixins right there on the spot. Best hot dog I ever had. I was blown away. Magic Hot Dog Lady lives !!
