This ladys and gentelmens is the best review I've ever seen for Toyota Prius!! You even showed how to press and hold HV/EV button, for when you want to charge your battery with help of a motor! Everything was fenomenal!
Thank you for explaining so much, This is by far, the best video on the Prius I have seen and very informative. It answered alot of the questions that I had.
My next car. Hoping to buy used to save money. My current 2012 Prius is at 200 thousand miles and drives like new. I want apple CarPlay and 5 seater prime so 2020 and above fits the bill.
Do you know who manufactures the window rain guards/deflectors? I purchased a 2021 Prius Prime Limited; I requested to have the rain guards installed but was told Toyota does not make them for my vehicle. The dealership offered the Weather Tech brand but said they were only available for the front windows. I went to another dealership in a different state but was told they only have the AVS brand. Unfortunately, the AVS branded covers do not provide edge to edge window coverage. The covers installed on your demo car fits according to my expectations. Thanks in advance for your response!
At 21:30, Engine braking: I thought the wear on brake pads is greatly mitigated by the regenerative braking of hybrid/electric systems. If that's the case here too, engine braking, B on the shifter, would be automatic regen-braking while going downhill.
Does it have dual climate controls? I saw the temperature adjustment on the driver’s side. Also, does an iPhone have to be plugged in in order to use Apple CarPlay? Or is it available via Bluetooth? Thank you for a great walk around. I’m strongly considering one of these.
Question: If the plug in cord is not long enough to each my exterior (on my home) outlet can I use an extension cord? I need about a 30' run. Thank you
Yes you can, but its recommended to get one that has a thick cord. Use heavy duty cable with high gauge. You can use this as a guide greentransportation.info/ev-charging/range-confidence/chap8-tech/electric-car-extension-cords.html
DYAUTODELIVERY huh, is it an additional package? The one I was looking at at the dealer didn’t have it. The XLE is the mid trim level between the LE and the limited right?
@@HomoGeniusPDE Yes! you are correct it is between the two trims. I'm not sure about your dealer not having it, But at OpenRoad Toyota Richmond in Canada would have the heated steering wheel.
4 miles per kilowatt. Let say a cost of $0.10 kilowatt- electric cost comes out at $0.025 a mile. I'm guessing everything cheap. So you drive 40 miles on electric you have used 10 kilowatts or $1.00 worth of electricity and plug it into your wall outlet charging 1500 watts per hour (1.5 kilowatt or $0.15 an hour). It will take 6.5 hours to charge the car for the 40 miles you drove. Real world figure 30% to 50% increase in cost. Figure it will take 10% more electricity to charge your car then your car says it has used. Yes even electricity shrinks.
I bealive all models after 2019 is 5 seat. Anyway you can esily see it by looking in the video 5:27, if a car doesn't have a hump'' in the middle of back seat, it's 5 seat Prius :)

How long would you safely recommend keeping the gas in the tank? I would imagine myself driving almost exclusively on EV and worried about the fuel "going bad"? Will the computer let you know before that happens and will it force hybrid mode to prevent this automatically?

Amazing Review spot on .
Your video was good. How do I get my GPS to go in night mode. It just stays in day mode. To much light for night driving. Thanks
GREAT review! Any chance you might do something similar for a 2022 PRIUS PRIME Limited ?
Thanks Alex, it’s very helpful
Very nice video thank you!

Great car to drive, top Toyota quality one of the most efficient and very aero!

Yes, b-mode uses both electrical motors for regeneration and braking.

Xle doesnt come with heat steering
Trunk storage is too small.
Do the rear windows go all the way down?
Yes
2:15, will this stuff mess with the tpms system? is it safe to use without having to replace the tpms as well?
thnx!
It shouldn't mess with it the TPMS so you shouldn't have to replace it
Big screen is garbage... thats why I got the LE model. Plus I dont like that fake leather
You forgot to tell us if this model is a four sitter or a five sitter.

Yes, you’re right it sits 5 kids. 2020 and above as well as apple CarPlay introduced in the 2020 models

bad thing....
where is back wiper and water nose?
That rear window is almost horisontal you don't need back wiper, because it will be much less dirt there..

I wanna like the Prius so bad but it’s just so damn ugly. Previous generation was much nicer looking
It's just so much more aero than all other cars! That is why it's so futiristic looking. I bealive it's more aero than tesla:)
Cheap Tesla

Just bought a 2021. I was told if you don’t use a tank up in a year then the car will exclusively use the gas engine to use up the fuel
