Don’t need to be certified for drive them..anyone can rent one.. and the city cares less about inspections and permits. How do you think all the construction got done in the last twenty years.
That is not a cherry picker unless I’m mistaken. I’m certified for 100’ plus boom on JLGs and would never get in that “basket”. This looks like a heavy duty forklift converted to a basket on top. Miss use of equipment if I was to guess
How many deaths have we had in the last few weeks in Philadelphia? The city is crying out and the citizens are just dying. Gun violence, Random Deaths, Car Theft Killings. Like. What is going on out here??!?
This is not a cherry picker it’s called a Lull and it’s not designed to lift people it’s designed to lift material and move it. This is an accident caused by improper use of equipment and over loading. This was not driven as if you notice the front out riggers are in the down position which means it was stationary and being used to lift the workers to the roof after they had put the air conditioning units they were installing on the roof. The wheels being turned were most likely from whoever was operating it panicked and turned the steering wheel as it tipped over because someone had to be inside the Lull sitting in it to operate the lifting of the boom.
Praying for all that were hurt and the family of the person that passed🙏
The boom didn't fail, the workers mismanaged it. Somebody didn't know how to properly operate it.
DEI hire.

I'll bet the guy operating the the all-terrain forklift did not have the proper certifications. Non union.
Just what I was thinking.

Are you kidding?! He doesn't even have citizenship documentation.....
Lots of speculation in this thread.
@@Rob774 no I'm just betting on percentages
That’s what happens when you drive the lift when fully extended or elevated in the air. Drive the lift when it’s at the base height.
Wheels on turn position..and driving off a curb ..very rigid and when high up the effects are amplified..
There’s also an extension basket, making it more top heavy.
Condolences from Canada that’s terrible. I always hated being up in the cherry picker.
Men like myself just going to work for their family...sooo sad prayers for them and their family
I bet those other two workers are in agony right now smh Rip to the deceased

That looks like a lull, not a cherry picker or a man lift. It's not meant to lift workers. I've got 28 years in the trades
Looks like they drove over the curb with the boom extended causing it to tip over.
I feel so bad I used to live near the house that the crane fell it brings me a lot of memories 😢 I hope the 2 people recover

I see what went wrong on that machine based on this video AS IF I WAS THERE.
Not rocket science Over extension with the weight greater then the base
Cheap labor
Se habla.
Construction vehicle violence
These cranes crashes been happening recently. Learn how to secure them!!!!
