    Great video man! I gotta be that guy and ask though... how does one turn a master cylinder into a freshly painted rear brake caliper? @00:07-00:16

    I just cerakoted every park on my bike build. I blasted everything inside and out, even the cases! The only thing I didnt blast i side was the carb, thought that might be a little risky. Great video man

    Question... If I were to use alumibright or a rust remover because I don't have a blast cabinet would that effect the coatings end result? I feel like these would be easy ways to get the parts clean.

    • @begleypaul1
      @begleypaul1 6 месяцев назад

      I don't have a blast cabinet either so what I did was completely degrease the part, use scotch-Brite wheel on my bench grinder (or use scotch-Brite pads by hand if you don't have a bench grinder). Before you go to the last two steps, make sure you have the look you want on the part (i.e., the scotch-Brite sanding grain) then do the acetone bath. After that just spray with the Aluma-Hide.

    great video, would this be a good idea to do this to a metal frame?

    • @mxrevival
      @mxrevival  Год назад

      You could, but it isn’t going to last terribly long if you have some high contact/ high rubbing areas. Nothing lasts forever, even powder coat will wear through. But there are new wrong answers and definitely follow your heart with it! Can always redo it.

    Can u bake it to make it dry faster

    • @mxrevival
      @mxrevival  2 года назад +1

      You probably could, but at some point it will get too hot and melt off. It's just meant to air cure for 14 days. I recently had to Media blast some of this stuff off a park I did in the past, and it was hard to get off even with aluminum oxide!

    I have the same sandblaster, and love it. I keep a chip brush on the top of the cabinet and brush off the components before I remove them. Keeps the residue in the cabinet and helps keep it out of the orifices when the tape is removed.

      Thanks

    • @mxrevival
      @mxrevival  3 года назад

      @@silkcustoms520 you're going to want to go to a more gritty, aluminum oxide media for a better prep when doing this. It will just stick better over time when you actually apply the coating

    Cool product, Looks great. Thanks for the informative video. I hope it is available in Canada. I will surely try it out on my YZ490 build. Disposable scalpels work amazing for cutting tape and easier to handle than razor blades. Oh by the way can i ask what video editing software you are using. Having a lot of trouble with my software.

      Badass! Hope to see your results when you do.
      Are there some chemical bans in the great white North that may prohibit you from getting your hands on it?
      I am using hitfilm, the free version. it has been a great platform to get better on over time and can expand it with purchases for different effects.
      It has been finicky at times but overall I really enjoy it.
      I will look into those scalpels! Have not seen them. Thank you for the information
