🟢 Here is the reaction for Finale: ruclips.net/video/WWUw03JLkBo/видео.htmlsi=06KNHrYsra83fOP4
There have been a plethora of comments constructed around "you should have done this with Finale!😒🔊"
YES! I am very very aware they go together and it was part of the plan to do the reactions in close proximity as the orginal suggestion thread for this video brought that up.
I dont do multi song videos except for Anime related.
"You should have" reads funky to me as it indicates that the efforts put into creating this free content is wasted or somehow incorrect.
That is not where I put value so if you want additional content, phrase it differently.
    Thanks!

Don't mind those comments too much! Undertale, especially the fanon stuff, is very highly saturated with kids and immature people that are very annoying to interact with in general. Glad you still enjoy these pieces though and thanks for the reactions and breakdown Tony!

People saying "you should have" in the context of listening to two songs in one video isn't them saying you're doing it wrong, at least most of the time. It's mainly because either one song follows into another, giving you a completely new dynamic to it... or there's something similar with the two. like the amount of leitmotifs you heard in this one track alone.
If you want an example of what I mean, listen to the two TOOL songs "Parabol" and Parabola" but listen to Parabola first, then listen to the two at once. (they're directly next to each other on the album Lateralus). You'll notice that without the softer lead up of the first track, the second track seems quite basic. (certainly complex still though)
I hope this doesn't come across as rude or anything negative, i'm just trying to give an explanation as to, potentially, why people use that phrasing.

Having no context is what makes surface level music analysis effective. Context of the story or game only encourgares someone to think a certain way and gets in the way of what the music iteslf contains. • @gatr2897
    @gatr2897 Год назад +261

I'll try to summarize the context this plays in the best I can because knowing really adds to it.
Incase you haven't seen gameplay of Undertale, the combat system for most of the game plays as a turn based RPG, and after you use your turn you get given control over a heart floating in a box in 2D space and you have to move it around dodging bullets to avoid taking damage until you can have your turn again. It's what the cool kids call "bullet hell". Being a turn based game the emphasis is on taking the time to figure out how to approach situations, with your 2 win conditions being either killing the enemy, or finding a way to deescalate the situation and sparing them (or just running lol).
However the fight that this plays for, the final boss of the neutral route, plays wildly differently. Instead of having it be turn based you are simply CONSTANTLY in the phase where you control the heart against the boss who is a morbid murderous psychopathic monster granted Godlike powers to warp reality, which they obtained by consuming powerful human souls. Periodically it will shift to a different style of attacking that is a little less ridiculous than the initial stage, and if you survive it one of the souls in them will reach out and change the bullets to give you health back until the monster takes back control and continues their assault. The calm respite that gaining your turn back gives you does not exist in this fight, it's just a constant struggle to keep yourself alive and it's so hectic and brutal.
It's a shame that you weren't told to include the track "Finale" in this reaction, as Your Best Nightmare leads directly into it during a turning point in the fight where the souls inside the monster revolt and you gain the upper hand. It's a really epic moment where for the first time in the fight you can finally contend with them and it makes the fight SO memorable. Either way this track is insane it was cool to see you react to it 👍

I recommend checking out the Touhou OST!
Touhou was a big musical inspiration for Toby Fox, and there's actually several possible references in this track alone, at the start of each little section after the static.
    possible references:
3:00 sounds like the intro of Heian Alien from Touhou 12
8:24 sounds slightly like Solar Sect of Mystic Wisdom ~ Nuclear Fusion from Touhou 11
11:53 sounds like a part of Hartmann's Youkai Girl from Touhou 11
12:10 sounds like the start of Bad Apple from Touhou 4
also the main motif of those sections sounds very similar to a part of Loose Rain from Touhou 12.8.
There's a ton of themes in Touhou, but I'd suggest Necrofantasia from Touhou 7 to start (there's better imo but it's a good place to start). I hear Toby even played a piano rendition of Necrofantasia for his church while he was in high school.

I've heard the praises of the Undertale OST for years, but I've never played the game or really heard any of it. The praise is definitely warranted. This was utter chaos made music! Super cool! 😎
The second half of your favorite part, with the descending notes, reminded me of my favorite Tetris music "Type B". That section had such nice old Game Boy vibes.
During the whole song, when it got to the simple cute melody, I got a feeling of "going back in time" to older video game consoles. Like it was losing power, therefore losing fidelity & complexity.....I dunno if that makes sense 😅 It was a really neat effect tho!
If I may suggest something with a similar chaotic drum & bass vibe; you might like Yellow Alert from the Trigun OST ruclips.net/video/loSkhwnr4E4/видео.htmlsi=InLA83xdheBvvGvz . It’s probably a lot harder to pick up on it because your reactions to Undertale tracks are so broken up and you haven’t played the game, but the Undertale soundtrack relies heavily on leitmotifs. Almost every track references segments from other tracks, which is also story-relevant at some points. This is also especially visible in this one because it’s echoing the same motif, but that theme is found throughout the entire soundtrack and it’s super cool to notice like “oh, this is just [insert theme], but it’s metal instead of elevator music”. Super cool reaction tho

This track more than any other Undertale track is pretty difficult to wrap your head around outside of context. All of the different segments separated by static are representative of gameplay transitions in the bossfight. The entire theme of the fight is this struggle between malice and innocence, and the intentionally jarring transitions are meant to reflect that.

i've been listening to their music for like 10-11 years now or something, and watching them grow has been really fascinating. The things that really stand out to me is their sound design, composition (which is something that got very noticeably more interesting as time went by), and really enjoyable rhythms. They are extremely dynamic. off of that same album as voices of descent (the album is called led by ancient light) anchorite is also a really cool jam that i think you'd probably get a kick out of. it's a close second to fav for me behind voices of dissent. Both are pretty wild. @@DrumRollTonyReacts

@@DrumRollTonyReacts There is a bit of context for like, how it's actually played in the game. Where the more "hard" part is the main boss music that plays during the fight and the more "whimsy out there" music parts (between the statics) are different events that happen during that fight, so you don't hear them as often as you do here and they're associated with a change of scenery which changes the vibe a bit.
And they're triggered by player action so they might play at a different point in the track.
I think it's actually a bit jarring in the soundtrack because of how often it switches, in game it's really tied to gameplay and a lot more reserved with the switches so I think it works a lot better.
