Dude you showed in 2 mins what most others took 10mins to do. You are the MVP!!!!!!! please don't change. Perhaps music could be lower, but I'm nit picking.
Excellent tutorial. Positioning the arms is so easy (I'm using the same mini tripod as you), and the App does exactly what is needed to control the lights. I'm having a lot of fun with the Adaptalux Studio.
I am a complete novice but I am into 1/7 scale figures. I was wondering if a white background is better with videography and photo like in the video vs black background. More for like a video b-roll showing off the figures. I did see the other video with the star wars figure you had with a black background (without using a physical black backdrop). And truly nice. But for now only got an s22 to play with 😅
No reason you can't do all of this with a phone! The s22 has pro camera options that will let you set your exposure manually so you can experiment with different lighting and backgrounds to see which you like better for your figures!
Just got my costom made kit options. Very impressed with the packaging and the overall quality product and the personable care from folks at Adaptalux. Can't wait to take pictures of my jewelry with it.
Excellent video Ben. If you have done one I would be interested in a vid on how to light product which itself is lit, i.e, we craft upcycled bottle lamps and usually take a non lit/lit series of each lamp, but getting a good exposure for the lit lamps is not always possible, so any tips or a vid would be really welcome.
Great suggestion! Lighting 'light producing' objects can be really challenging, especially for product shots. I'll see if I have any subjects around that would be good for experimenting with!
I really enjoy taking pictures for my eBay store. I want to get into product stuff like this so I started a Shutterfly. It’ll be some of my eBay items, sweet products I can get my hands on and street photography (the most important and most necessary kind of photography imo of course). I’m going to have a go at it few months with hard work and manifestation. I WILL be getting paid for at least 1 photo by years end..Can’t forget confidence as well😏
Really enjoy and love your videos! Can you make some tutorials for reflective objects for instance sunglasses, this is quite a challenge subject to shoot for. Thanks!! Can't wait for more great videos!
Hello, thank you for your video, that's very interesting. i have a question for the step 4 lighting, can you tell me what is of a light model, what is a brand, where can i buy. thanks again
Take a photo with any background. Remove the background using Photoshop or GIMP, and then you can insert any background you like, add shadows, etc. Much easier than trying to take a perfect photo.
I couldn't disagree more. Cutting out objects in photoshop is time consuming, especially if you have 100s of photos to process. It can also leave your objects looking isolated with strange lighting against a falce white background if the bakround was originally darker. It's almost always better to get as close as possible to the final result in camera.

Thanks Topaz, glad you found the video useful! The music was a little loud on this one but I've toned it down for future videos. Thanks for watching!
It's 17 minutes long haha. But very good
Really pleased to find a video on product photography that makes sense and is not full of verbal diarrhoea. Brilliant, thank you.
Glad you found it useful!
@adaptalux another great informative video, thanks a lot Ben
Thanks Pedro!
Exactly what Ive been looking for! Thank you.
Most Welcome Liz, glad it was helpful.
Bright red might be tricky to avoid, I'd probably try something neutral if not totally black!

So glad to hear you are enjoying it Juan!
I learned so much , thank you.
this is beyond helpful!
Quality upload Ben some very helpful tips. Will be getting one from of these from you soon keep up the good work.
Thanks Dave! Best use that voucher quick before it runs out!
I came here to figure out how can I take pictures of my product with the white background. Music was relaxing
Glad you enjoyed the video :)
Where did you get your lighting from? Looks so useful without taking so much space.
Hey Etitara, we make it ourselves! You can learn more at www.adaptalux.com
Loved your video. Thank you. Very informative. I agree with previous comment though, music very distracting. I was wishing I could have turned it off,
Still getting used to this RUclips lark, will work on the volume for future videos as a few people have mentioned it. Thanks for watching :)
@@Adaptalux Very quick reply. Many thanks

Glad you found it useful, thanks for watching!
Awesome video mate! Learned a lot!
Glad you enjoyed it!

Thanks for the suggestion, sunglasses would indeed be hard to shoot, I'll give it a go.
Really nice tutorial! One question though, is it possible to try and use a ring light to achieve a pure white background?
If you had multiple ring lights, sure. You can't get a pure white background using this technique with only one light source.
Great tutorial. Thank you!
You're welcome, thanks for watching!
Those lights are superb. Can anyone tell me what is the name of those lights and where to buy from. Thanks in advance.

Good video and I didn't mind the music at all...
Thanks Gwendolyn, I've still toned it down a bit for more recent ones.

Good tutorial but the music playing through the whole video was distracting and annoying.
Thanks for the feedback Norma, we have toned down the music in more recent videos...the levels we definitely out in this one!
Hi, please lose the music, i want to hear your voice without distraction . thank you ..
It's far more toned down in recent videos, I'd be curious to know how you get on with those?
I was going to tell him I like the music and it was relaxing 🤫
