Finally! A project for all those leftover pallet wood scraps from covering my porch walls. Nice sled, too!
Love it! Local creators working together and of course, using scraps and a great looking result.
That piece looks like it warmed up the space for sure. Such a sweet build!
I now finally understand Tim Henson's studio art, it was functional all along
Terrific idea and nicely done Tim! Now I know what I am going to do with all of those scraps of wood laying around in my shop! Thanks & be good! 👍👍👏👏
Great project mate, awesome idea for scrap wood 😀
I have to admit, I've never seen someone edge-band plywood with another, thinner bit of plywood. I think it turned out great!
lol. Yea, that was sort of a fun "joke" so to speak. For years I've been experimenting with reclaimed hollow core doors. Adding this to my list :)
Pretty sweet dude. Love the idea behind it for a local station that supports locals
Absolutely stunning! Such a cool project!
I do love functional art. And it also looks pretty cool. Always good to support your local art supporters. Thanks for sharing!
That's awesome. Nothing makes me more nervous than repetitive cuts like you did there on the table saw. It's a real challenge (for me) to remain mindful of the blade when I'm doing the same cut over and over.
Yea, I talked about that at length in a video a few years ago. It's a legit concern, to lose focus. I rend to set little goals for myself to take breaks, like do a pile, turn the saw off and walk away for a sip of coffee, go back... this helps me keep the tunnel vision away.
that timber ❤😍😍😍❤
I've been saving my doors. Perhaps this is the project for me.
This is beautiful!!! And thank you for your plug to support local community stations - ❤
Work of art/function, Tim.
You know I approve. Looks great, Tim. Nicely done.
The depth and angle of each block is actually a really complex thing to get right. Theres a website that tells you how large you make each block and where to place it based on your specific needs. Quite a fascinating thing as i always just thought it was about not having a flat surface and scattering the sound but no, its really scientific
Link?
@@LoveGuitar63277 Just search for "quadratic residue diffuser", lots of info on the topic. To get it absolutely right is complex, but DIY "random enough" designs can still provide some acoustic benefit.
Yea, I didn’t do any math. Lol. I Just visualize sound moving like water and how it would react on various surfaces :)
Yes you can actually tune the panels for a specific frequency range depending on your studios needs.
Wow ! I love your artwork. Thanks for sharing it with us ❤
Great video. Love the SqWAYre Tools. Piece looks awesome. Mahalo for sharing! : )
MUY BUEN TRABAJO, ESTOY PREPARANDO UN MURO A ESE ESTILO Y LO VOY A SUBIR A MI CANAL PRONTO, SALUDOS DESDE BUENOS AIRES
My granddaughter made one for her mom it took her about a week to complete lot of work but really cool when done. An no she hasn't made one for Grandpa yet😢

I have a bunch of scrap wood and a bedroom that’s slowly becoming a music and recording space in my small apartment. I’ve been thinking of building a diffusion panel for a little while and your excellent video has added inspiration. Thanks for that!
I’m curious to know what kind of finish you sprayed on at the end.
A water based poly called TotalBoat Halcyon. cheers!
ACES!
Very cool! Could you hear a difference in the room with it up?
room is too big to hear a difference just in the room, but when they start recording in the general area it should help
8th sub LIKE, 43rd view-in-progress.
but can it run crysis?
did it make a difference in the soundscape of that room?
It’s a big space so the difference is not noticeable to the naked ear over all. Where it needs to be tested is “under the microscope “ with people and mics in front of it, where it “should” help the overall audio quality in the boom mic. Hasn’t happened yet but sometime soon
